  1. Well ... what i do know is - that i was bought up from birth in HK and i loved Yakult (wasn't available in London for ages). The sheer taste of it was 'something else' - you could argue that it was sugar to a kid but i beg to differ - my parents were pretty good. I grew very well and strong and have but one lonely filling in my head - the 'brush your teeth' a blessing now. :) Funny old thing/memory. : )

As to the rise of the probiotic - there is most certainly something to it ... i wish you luck.: ))))

    Goodness sake. !

  2. I bought a new Samsung refrigerator from Big C last month. The delivery men leveled it, and made sure the door closed automatically.

My fridge was fine on delivery, but I moved it after transferring the food items from the old one.

And the kitchen floor is of the up hill down dale variety.

I just didn't think about the level.

    Before calling Big C.

The floor I can't change as my house is rented.

Sounds like you have got it sorted then ... good on you.
    Yes all good. Thank you.

The fridge/freezer is a little wider than standard,at 25 inches,so perhaps flexed more than I expected.

Very happy now.All my pre made culinary delights are safe.

'Pre made culinary delights' ? ... most cool. : ) I'm home again now - would be interested to hear. ? Please tell me what you make. ?

  3. Do you still wait over night before switching it on?

    .

    Little bit tawdry David. ! : )

    ... blink.png

    Please explain.

No cannot ... no explanation for it. : ) Accepted with a sorry. ?

I'm under pressure ... it brings the best out in me. : )

  5. Sober Monday - i promise. !

Quite interesting about this ... please can you explain what this 'level' is about for the fridge and washing machine. ?

I kind of get the washing machine ... on straight flooring - but i really don't get the fridge on slightly uneven ground ? It has to be to do with water content somewhere along the line. ??

The only reason for my fridge door not budging .. is because i have been away and it's got ice. I need to know things like this for the future if it's a simple overlook .... please. ? Got to buy 2 freestanding soon.

    Thank you - Jude.

  6. I absolutely love music ... all sorts. My best song at the moment is : Wont back down by Tom Petty for personal reasons.I sing wherever i am - 'dunno' ... get's me through and well. :) Everyone always thinks 'what' ? - but ....

... i do get them doing the same by end day (wherever i am based) - music is wonderful. I have formed more bonds through this .... than anything. ! I would love to know - if i can be cheeky enough to ask ; ) - everyone's 'favourite' and why. ? (Alway's a story why) This floats me - amazing ... finally - something that i want to know. I'll be quiet now .... apart from to say ... singing the theme tune to 'fiddler on the roof' most of the day. : )

  7. I am desperately and really trying to understand things like this. Compassion ... i think they call it. ? smile.png I am not dismissing or belittling the situation (that is not my way) ... we can all get stuck - whatever the circumstances.

Phew ... wish you the best and that you get through it. It's not your debt kiddo .... do not get 'weighed down' by this. Do not engage.

There speaketh i - 7th Imp and 'just gotta boss everyone around when bored and home' LOL : )

Compassion for ones own immediate family comes first!

The in-laws have resources and a large family that all work. This makes the debt seem bizarre. Apparently this particular shark is well known for collecting a couple of payments then nothing for years, then turns up out of the blue with the police demanding massive instant repayment, hence forcing people into homelessness and more debt etc.

Bit 'hastey of me'- apologies.Ok ... yep absolutely right family first - every time.(Sometimes you have got to save yourself first to save the rest) - I'm 'with you' on the debt sounding bizarre - please would you define it. ? Do not panic ... it is simply about problem solving.

Where is your thought about what to do - go from there. ? I'll help ... with my excellent 'brain' .. ; )

  11. Good to know you're recovering well, David. Do correct me if I've got it wrong, but I seem to recall that that was not your first run in with DVT? In my own case, I'm just coming to the end of a year of treatment with what I hope will be a final blood check and consultation next week. I too had to use a support stocking, but mine was a foot to thigh job, presumably because there was an additional clotting problem close to the groin.

After the initial hospital stay I went on injections of Heparin in the stomach, administered quite painlessly by my wife at home. My understanding is that Heparin (and apparently Clexane), act more or less immediately whilst the change to Warfarin (in tablet form) requires several days and blood checks to get the dosage just so.

What I've not seen mentioned is that Heparin, Clexane or Warfarin are not, of themselves, a cure for the clots. They are to prevent further clots forming whilst, if I've understood correctly, the body's own defences are detailed off to take care of the clot(s) in its own good time and manner. The reason that treatment goes on for so long is that, long after the soreness, swelling and heat of DVT has passed, the clots themselves may remain and are particularly dangerous if they, or a part of them, breaks off and charges through the blood system to the lungs, where a pulmonary embolism occurs. If this happens, and you're a bit unlucky, the PE can kill you. This, of course, is to be avoided.

Given that many of us are either frequent fliers, sedentary by habit or under-hydrated, it's a good thing you brought this matter up. Continue recovery and keep well hydrated.

    Richard ... morning sunshine : )

How 'well hydrated' will you keep today. ? Come on ... i would like to know please. ? For an average person it should be 2 ltrs per day .. read a very interesting book lately .. that suggests the 'nasties' we get later in life are due to chronic (ie/ over a long time) dehydration.

As you know its important ... what foods will you eat. ?

    I'm interested ... because i am 'nosiness itself' : )

Damn LOL .. and never let me start a thread again ... will be back but away to much to keep up properly. Sorry x

  12. As for me ... things are OK.

I have half my life ahead of me.

I've started back playing squash and have started jogging and regular exercise at the local Park.

The exercise program is not related to the DVT ... it's just that I'm a little heavier because my Thai gf is staying with me now and her food is difficult to say no to.

Thanks for thinking of me ... but it's you guys who fly I think about more.

The simple exercises to do on the plane, drink the water and I'm certainly not going to stop having a few beers when I fly ... it's all about managing what you do.

    Cheers

    A healthy and recovering

    .

"As for you " : ) glad you are ok .... keep eating that delicious and healthy food - nothing wrong with 'good weight' when you are burning it off.

Great to hear back - thanks.

  13. ^^ ... since you asked, this is the progress to date.

The stomach injections Clexane 6647131119_0ed8013789_z.jpg lasted for about 10-14 days until the Warfin levels are stabilised and thinning the blood.

After doing this for that period your stomach starts to look like the 'join the dots' game ... Photo+161.jpg... not my stomach!

My 'INR' levels are now at 3 and the goal is to keep them in the '2 - 3' range ... meaning that my blood is less likely to clot ... above the reading of 3 is in the danger zone and in serious danger of internal bleeding because your blood is thin.

You try and keep your diet roughly the same as the green leafy vegetables effect the Warfin levels.

Have to wear the knee high stocking for at least 6 months.

Interesting ... please do not take aspirin as painkiller for any other complaints .. headache etc - expect you know already. Brilliant news on the INR - pleased for you. : ) Apart from taking a 'cheap shot' at the knee high stockings LOL - hurry up and get better. !

  14. Hi Judecalling ... thanks for thinking of me.

I did the thread, not so much about me ... but to remind everyone who flies regularly, who flies only once in the medium to long haul to mindful of the dangers of DVT and how simply how they can be avoided.

    .

Cool - great - fantastic Lol - good to know that you are well and fine.

  15. ... that guy with the ... suppose 'avatar' of a ghostly face in a hood ... best i can describe it. !?? Maybe name 'Dave' ... i think he got a DVT and was trying to deal with that - last time i read. ? Did anyone ever check up on him. ? He was BIG on the correct things to do while flying because .. ... and i didn't hear if he made a full recovery. ??

I would like to know something like that. ?! Scientific and caring ... what can i say. : )

(Also happen to remember that he was extremely articulate ... perhaps why it has 'stuck' with me)

  16. Oh dear ... sensitive one ... while your focusing on that - i'm off saving the universe LOL : ).

I know some people are fanatical about their sports - having been subjected to Rugby as a Religion while growing up.

Apart from that ... if any 'petty or jealous' people cross my path ... i yawn and do a little party when they are gone. (Inwardly fkn seething with hate and turning them into polystyrine if i could LOL :)))) ... begs the question ... how do you spell 'polystirine'??

    Busy day ahead.

  17. Yes well ... i detect a little love in the the air Falang 1969 ; ) - and given your track record (stated) might be things are a little different for you this time. None of us ever know - we all go 'helter skelter' ... and ain't it great. : )

    However ....

Love shouldn't leave you financially dissolved... just broken hearted if it doesn't work out ... that should be the price and that alone - that is bad enough lol. What is on your mind here .... marriage after a few weeks ?? I don't understand where your trust issues are coming from (the usual accepted - but you don't sound like someone who 'falls for it') ... except for the fact that you must be imagining grand things. ?? Just enjoy the flourish of love and sign nothing .... not to say that you shouldn't act Gentlemanly. You'll see things as they are with time.

Hope it's a winner for you and best.

    (excuse all typos ...tired ;)

  18. As ever a judgement call. Well ... probably evaluated the situation as your BIL did and decided if i could 'win it' - on behalf of the stranger - by method or slight madness. I do tend to act quickly and in the most unusual way Lol and it put's folks off their course (non violently but in a violent situation). Could i get away with stopping it without putting myself in the firing line. ?? If not ... the least that i would have done is made sure she got medical care afterwards.

My Sister etc in the same situation ... well then ... if all tactics would fail (in that split second) i would go in with the knowledge/understanding that i might die over it. No 'rationale' ... but i would be angry enough to stop it - LOL ... i believe they call that the 'tipping point'. : )

Do hope that she made a good recovery - 'tis a bad thing. ?!
