  1. You can easily add a Zero to the numbers; we're closing down our operations and shall never ever do any business here in Thailand again which requires labour. Possibly the most overpriced arrogant ignorant labour force I ever came across. Hardly anybody resigns normally but just walks off the job and if they don't steal something worth six digits it is obsolete to file anything with the authorities.

The chicken come home to roost; lets see how the Thais are in, say 10 or 15 years. Yet, as mentioned, not they are to blame but the system is a total failure. Some 30 years ago, when I came first, I was talking to the parents of today's employees. They knew likewise little to nothing but were willing to listen and to learn. Over a generation that went down the toilet again. Pathetic!

But the hammock sellers are happy.

  2. And would these growth hormones that create these giant fish just happened to be absorbed into the human body upon being eaten?

What about the wild life that eats these GMO fish, they are gonna grow pretty big too. Giant crocodiles can't be too far into the future.

Won't the increased size of the fish cause flooding?

Nah, the sponges will also get bigger and soak up the excess water.

  3. The former abbot was accused of using dead infants or foetus to make magic medication.

Another nail in the coffin of Thai-style Buddhism. How much deeper can the depravity go?

This has absolutely nothing to do with "Thai-style Buddhism" as you put it. How much deeper can the daft Thai bashing go?

Wrong, this is bad person bashing.

The fact that the bad person in question just happens to be Thai and a monk is not relevant in any way.

Defending them because they happen to be Thai is a far worse character trait.

  4. How many here have the language ability to understand what is being said on these channels. I spent years honing my listening comprehension skills listening to Thai parliament. I then spent equal amounts of time listening to red, yellow & government TV. I can confidently say that they all distort the truth & have their own agenda. Problem here is that only 1 is being dealt with. This is simply a continuation of the one-sided justice being dealt out to red activists, PTP members, Bonanza...

As Daniel Russel said. “When an elected leader is deposed, impeached by the authorities that implemented the coup, and then targeted with criminal charges while basic democratic processes and institutions are interrupted, the international community is left with the impression that these steps could be politically driven.” Japan Times

I am fluent in the language called shouting, and can easily spot a display of chest beating when I see it.

You don't need to understand all the words when the delivery mechanism of them is patently meant to inflame.

  5. The ill-informed, zenophobic and downright stupid posts in this thread are enough to drive a teetotaler to drink.

For God's sake, the issue presumably is a technical one about whether or not the correct amount of tax has been paid. That is a matter best left to the appropriate authorities/courts.

Thailand IS NOT unique = tax disputes are common in every country - especially when economic times ain't great.

I note that today's news reports that the Australian Tax Office reckons BHP owes an addition US$550 million in unpaid income taxes. Do you cretins think BHP will walk away from its Pilbara iron ore mines?

The final determination of tax properly due is properly left to the appropriate authorities in each country matter (of course, this may practically pose challenges, but the principle is crystal clear), It has SFA to do with (a) nationality of the taxpayer; (cool.png country of dispute; © amount of investment; (d) feigned consequences.

In addition, Non-brain-dead folks know there is tremendous international attention now on resolving BEPS (Base Erosiion of Profit Split) - ie, ensuring in the future that major MNCs pay tax not just according to 'law', but perhaps where the profits are actually made.

<deleted> grow up and get informed.

My God, an intelligent post. Didn't think it was possible in a thread such as this. Well done Dinga.

If intelligence is measured by what you can have today or recover what you didn't get yesterday, it is.

    Other than that......

  6. There are other places to manufacture other than Thailand. Those places are much more business friendly and don't have a 300 baht per day minimum wage. The Philippines is aggressively seeking manufacturers and even offering incentives. The Philippines has a much higher birth rate (Catholic) and many more people in the age group to work in factories.

    Thainess.

Do you really think 300THB a dayis too much? Youcan't expect the rest of the world to keep Yanks in fat <deleted>

Have you been to Thailand yet? Do you know the prices?

Have you worked in Thailand? Have you worked with Thai?

I am guessing the answer is a NO, and hence its a NO, do not spout utter nonsense just to appear intelligent

I don't think that intelligence is a requirement to join bigot club, it would probably be positively feared.

  7. I am no expert, but I have always been under the impression that running multiple anti-virus programs is a bad idea and can result in software clashes and problems.

Find one good one for of each requirement.

I use ccleaner (free) malwarebytes (free) Avast (Free) although there are paid versions for more bells & whistles.

I use exactly the same stuff and I'm very happy with it.
