  1. Sure, because it is so stressful. I think it is pretty easy and straight forward with immigration nowadays. But if it stresses you out, you could of course use an agent and still get a full visa/extension for cheap rather than some hiso tourist visa with all it's limitations for a huge premium.
  2. Fee for a normal yearly extension is 1900B. Why would anyone pay 50k?
  3. I think I had it, nephew staying here had it, he had a sneeze and made a test. Positive. So I skipped the test and did not even have a sneeze. They cost about a beer, did not want to waste money ????
  4. Good that it worked out for you. I had a colleague with a kidney colic in Jakarta, Insured by CIGNA, unfortunately it was night time in UK and nobody could answer their phone. So no treatment for several hours. Go figure.
  5. It's 30kEUR coverage I believe, you can make these insurances online for 14 days or however long you require, pretty cheap, good value for money. And they give you proper treatment without the need to show a credit card or cash out like in Thailand and then try to get your money back. 1st world vs. 3rd world.
  6. Just another pirouette, next week it will be a new round...and round...and round. ????
  7. They tried with Bitcoin some years ago, high transaction fees killed it shortly afterwards. Same situation today, although there are other coins but they lack wide acceptance. So this is just another BS story from a central bank. Nobody uses crypto as currency. People stick to gold, real money, which is a good thing and one of the best in the world.
  8. Thailand would do well to continue on a neutral course as they do in the moment. If the West needs enemies for their military industrial complex to survive and someone like Putin to blame for self inflicted economic disaster and inflation, so be it. Thailand does not. Stay neutral and the future will thank you.
  9. That's the story, anyone ever seen a Harrier flying? Guess not.
  10. Nothing wrong with planes, last time they did it wrong and purchased an aircraft carrier without. Kinda learning curve ????
  11. Just did the same, the second try with the new system. First one failed but I got a list of 100 applicants with all personal details, mostly Cambodian and Burmese ????. That was 3 months ago. Yesterday I tried again, apparently the issues were at least partly fixed (would not be surprised about another of their regular data leaks). And it got approved about 24h later today. So I call this a success story. Nobody knows how long it will work, crossing fingers. Using Brave browser.
  12. Well, all hot air. No insurance pays for forced detention aka quarantine.
  13. Don't need hackers, they usually leave all doors wide open. That is in the Interwebz, not for travel ????
  14. Was wandering through the old town in Chiang Mai yesterday as I had to kill some time waiting. Amazingly I could spot a total of 20 or so tourists in town. It's really booming now ???? Way to go Thailand. If one thinks you cannot top it anymore, you hit the next nail straight into the coffin.
  15. LPG still costs 13B, Thailand does not charge ridiculous taxes on energy like "first world" countries.
  16. You will always be a tourist in this country and nothing more.
  17. LOL, and this you consider a significant amount of people? Tourists even? These are people coming back who have a life here, a job, a family.
  18. "While Thailand has never charged an entry fee before..." Do your homework, just because previous fees were hidden in ticket prices does not mean they were and are not charged.
