What has changed here???not much and a lot...

The bashing brigade is still out in full force( especially in the news section)...

The usual suspects( including me) in Pub and general but big clean out last year...

Some wise folks are still contributing in a positive way to this forum...

Some "new" characters are omnipresent...

and there a still some folks around who loves this country...

Shouldn't there be the final verdict end of December and has anybody an idea about the outcome?

Interesting, TransAm, all the time you were trying to be gallant and saying you'd withdraw in the event of a tie, you were still busy campaigning.

Also interesting is the fact that I've been AWOL from this thread for 7 hours and no one's noticed. However my vote tally has increased nicely.

But, can I leave well enough alone and just butt out? Nawh, I just can't resist the opportunity to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. I have a three hours until I have to go back to the hospital and help a guy try to connect with his bank and insurance company in Canada using my internet phone. Plenty of time to trash out my chances to win.

See, I just started. So, what have the other candidates been up today? Saved any endangered species? Thrown themselves on a land-mine to protect an HIV-positive orphan? Cleaned out the cat's litter box? Didn't think so.

Nothing exciting except between 116 guest for lunch,256 guest on the pool(afternoon) and 95 guest for dinner preparation for 650 guests for their happy new year gala buffet...

I'm still a null vote and still deciding.

Maybe if the Crazy Chef posted some yummy food images, I could be persuaded?

I'd like to draw everyone's attention to what I thought was going to be an obscure thread on the Chiang Mai forum. You know a simple, informative post to my hometown friends to let them know had the honor to be in the running for Thai Visa POTY. Jingthing did a similar thing in his Pattaya forum last year, where he's beloved for his threads about restaurants and baht buses.

Little did I know that nearly all the other contestants would pile onto my thread, with one turning into the continuation of a feud that apparently resulted in the melt down of the Chiang Rai forum.

Trans Am posted nine times with several music videos, Soi Biker had seven posts with his "Nullist" message and with just five posts, VillageFarang managed to stir up some p@@p, probably because he's posting just a little to close to home, where people remember how he was singlehandedly responsible for turning the Thai Visa Chiang Rai forum into the ghost town it is today.

The only POTY candidate who remained a gentleman and stayed away was CrazyChef, probably because he was too busy making his little corner of the universe a better place. Rather than trashing out someone else's nice little corner of the universe.

I can see it now, with no one clever enough to compete with him, he invented an alter ego who could give him a run for his money. That way he couldnt lose and this year he will be able to win again because, well it isnt really him.

Firstly, I thought it was against the rules of ThaiVisa to remit copyright material without at least acknowledgment of the original author. ThaiVisa could get sued over this, unlikely, but possible.

I suggest that everyone who 'liked' the original post, reconsider their decision.
