Well mate, life is too short and you should never die having regrets for not doing some thing you wish you had.
Im from the uk and it is my wish to die in thailand, be cremated and have my ashes sprinkled on patong beach
in phuket, no fuss, no sadness from friends or family, just knowing that this is the place i love and 'feel at home'
and they all understand that this is my wish. I shall move to thailand in the not too distant future when i have
made all the arrangments.
If your well enough to travel, go now, sort out other things later, take some one close to you aswell, do what you
can and just enjoy, enjoy your remaining time left, 'they say your a long time dead' so go for it mate.
Good luck and see you on the other side.

we all know the damage smoking does to our health but it is a drug and very difficult habit to kick.
try telling yourself that the next fag you smoke will be the one that kills you, a bit harsh but it helps me
not have one,
good luck

I have a 1-2-call freedom sim card which i have had for about 3 years now and all my friends know my number.
I last topped up in feb this year and recieved a text stating my new balance and valid until june.
In march i returned to uk and forgot all about this and i shall return to thailand in dec, my sim card now says
activation failed although it has worked in the uk before, i think it goes onto orange, not sure now.
Was wondering if i got thai friend to buy me a top up card and registed/credit to my number, would it
activate again or is it now defunct/too late.
Any advice would be great, thank you.

The wife flew with EVA in april, LHR/bkk return in economy, booked chosen seats online and she was quite happy with this airline, cheaper than thai and china.
I only fly business when i go so china air via amsterdam is by far the cheapest, use bus lounge at airports,
food and drink free, priority boarding, massive leg room and wide seats, im slim but tall and 12 hours in economy for me is a no no.

This can happen to anyone, let alone children.
Last year in hua hin i was going up an escalator and happened to look over the edge
at some thing on that floor and then suddenly looked up and noticed the concrete edge
approaching.
Made me realize how easy it was to get your head trapped.
Sas sad story for the little girl and her family,

Citin loft is very central, within walking distance of beach, night time bars, grand market and tesco lotus complex.
I always stay in this area and have no complaints, walk every where i want to go.
If its clean and comfy then 15k sounds ok, water and electric maybe extra but only
about 500 bht p/m at most including a/c on alot.

It may be paradise but if you have personel problems, they tend to follow you
where ever you go. Its a shame this has to happen. RIP

That's impossible. Yingluck "promised" there would be no flooding this year.
You win today's prize for most original comment. Well done. Your prize is a course in English Comprehension. I hope you enjoy it. Once again, well done.
Blow me, the grammar (grandma) police are out in force. Sorry I'm not one of you TEFL underpaid English teachers. I am however a highly paid offshore worker who couldn't give a toss what you think of my "comprehension"...
CAN U PLEASE GIVE ME SOME INFO ABOUT HOW TO GET AN OFF SHORE JOB OR EVEN AN ON SHORE JOB.
IM A BUILDER, BRICKIE BY TRADE BUT HAVE MASS EXPERIENCE IN ALL ASPECTS AND WOULD LIKE A JOB

google translate could not translate this article very well. My wife read the story in Thai and said the women was attacked and robbed but did not get raped. According to the Thai articleThe Thai version:
Still no description of the attacker in this Thai version.
Ask your wife what ข่มขืน in that article means.
THAT WORD TRANSLATES TO "RAPE"
MY WIFE IS THAI AND TRANSLATED IT FOR ME.

Thanks for all of the replies, sorry for the delay, i have not logged in since i posted this question.
Very interesting contrast of advice, I have been visiting thailand every english winter for 2 or 3 months,
mostly to Hua Hin but have been all over, south and north and Korat where my wifes family live, dont
think I could there cause I feel isolated when im there. Have many friends in Hua Hin, farang and thai
and this is where I wish to settle although it is probably more expensive than other places. I agree about
not buying a condo or a house at first, should rent for a while.
I eat thai food at home now every day, the wifes cooking is the best i,ve tasted, I dont drink alcohol, only
water but I love my coffee and the odd cup of cappucicno, when in thailand I know where to eat good
food for 40 bht a time ,fried rice or fried veg and boiled rice, I walk most places or if too far I take motor
bike taxi, I do and can live very simply, its free to walk and sit on the beach looking out to the sea.
Im a self employed builder, its very hard work and the body aint getting any younger and it feels like
im working just to survive, pay the bills and give it to the tax man.
I feel "at home" in thailand, have done since i first went in 2000, my heart is telling me to go, life is too
short, dont die regretting some thing you didnt do but always wanted to so once again........................
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR ADVICE AND PERSONAL STORIES, I shall take it all on board and make
a decision and keep you all posted.

Hello fellow tv members
im from uk, 52 with thai wife.
want to sell my home and move to thailand with about 60k=3 MILLION BHT
and with monthly income of approx £600 from uk rented property.
Will maybe rent at first between 5000 to 10,000 bht per month or maybe buy condo 2.5 million.
Will look at starting some business for the wife to run but not straight away but this should help with income/living costs.
Sitting at home trying to do my figures, how much will it cost to live a simple life, can i afford it etc is causing me a real
headache.
Ive seen many farang my age and younger living there and just wondered how they manage to do it.
Im desperate to leave this miserable place and live in thailand, life is too short and all that but also im very causious and
would hate to have financial problems.
Any advice from people with experience, please advise and guide me,
cheers for now.

Thanks for your replies, i am talking about properties in england only, dont own anything in thailand apart from the 50,000 baht piece of land next to her parents home which i paid for in her name.
i know i need to see a solicitor, this costs money, just looking for any advice first.

my thai girlfriend came to england in 2006 and 2007 on holiday visa, the third visa was fiancee and we married at registry office, she now has
permanant visa and works.
I already owned 2 properties, one we lived in and one i rented out.
in 2009 we brought a house together where we now live and because of market conditions, i now rent out the second property as well.
She now wants a divorce and move back to thailand to be with family, i also want to live in thailand but not in the same area.
Can anyone advise what is she entitled to, profit from our house if we can sell or half of every thing i own.
Thankyou in advance.

I have often been bitten on the beach at hua hin, but no by mossis, im told its sand flies.
If you use citronello oil spray, buy from pharmacy about 120 baht, i find this great and stops any thing
from biting you and it also smells nice, good luck.

dont drink tap water and dont have ice in your drinks.
eat rice only for a few days and this might help.
its not only in thailand, when you visit any country, the way the food is cooked,
the oil they use, spices etc, every body needs a few days to accustomise.
in the meantime, cross your legs
