I have been living for vacations 4 mths In a year in Thailand in a planned eventual retirement here long term

Been mostly at CM an passing through CR when I go for the usual visa runs

What am I missing in CR...for those staying here long term is it much better than CM

I am an easy going lad..as long as there is a small mall with McD , Tesco. Or the likes and a local market where I can walk to I am mostly happy

Is it significantly cheaper here in CR

Anyone knows a reliable taxi driver ? I have 2 on call an depending on the area sometimes try are not available and I am trying to increase the pool of driver

I live in Hang Dong Home in Park ...short jaunts to Tesco night markets and the likes

I pay normally 500 baht for a round trip if this is too much let me know :-)

Just got back Kasikorn Bank and opened an account here on tourist visa and passport ; need a local address and phone number. She does not seem to mind it is a hotel. ATM are is free ; add 400 baht for a debit card and Internet banking as a one time cost.

Asked about fixed deposits and credit card options. She introduced the Wisdom program . For a minimum amount of 800k baht, you lock it in for 6 years or 1.2 million baht for 4 years.
