  1. Hello,

I'm GoGet, a very nice and polite guy.

Not retired, not married, no intention to get married.

How is the visa situation overall now?

    Background:

I have been here for a very long time. I used to do border runs before. Then there was some issue about people catching a cold or something like that so the borders kind of seemed to freeze for a while.

During that period, it was possible to get long term visas, which I did. Paid a bit extra, got 15 months volunteer visa.

    It's about to expire.

How is the situation now? Is it still possible to get those long-term visas anywhere?

Or is everyone back to doing border runs just like in the old days?

    Any advice?

  2. Hi there,

    GoGet here.

I want to go to Bangkok and order a new passport because my old one is full and  then I want to get out again.

At the moment I stay in Phetchabun. I was wondering if it is possible to take the bus to Bangkok now without quarantining for 14 days?

The bus recently started operating again. But how does it work?

You can get on the bus but if you get off the bus at the bus station in Bangkok there are some guys in white overalls waiting for you there to test you and quarantine you?

    Or is the passage clear?

Alternatively, can I take the bus to Wang Noi and then take a taxi the last 30 km to Bangkok?

Your residence cert will determine the number plate province of your motorcycle.

I guess it's alright if it is in the same province but not in a different province.

I have a residence certificate in Chiang Mai. But I was thinking about both buying the motorbike in Lom Sak and making the driving license there.

Are you saying this is not a good idea or perhaps not even possible?

As above, TM28 required , often depends on the individual office.

I have lived/done 90 days at 4 different locations and never submitted a TM28. TM30 is often required before a 90 day can be done.

As above, the document requirements can vary depending on office.

Maybe mention the office you will be dealing with for specific advice.

Phetchabun office but maybe I could try several.

When you did the TM-47 were you able to do the TM-30 first the easy way online by just submitting rental agreement and passport?

Or did you have to go physically to the office and were being asked for additional documents?

  5. According to my previous conversations with @ubonjoe, if I understand him correctly, a complete address update is required in order to make a 90-day report.

The complete address update is done by using the TM-28 form and providing quite a few documents as far as I know.

Now there seems to be a bit of mixed reports about this. It would seem that some people have been able to make a TM-47 (90-day report) without making a TM-28 or even without making a TM-30 first.

Are you for instance saying that the TM-47 (90-day report) can be done without having the same address on the TM-47 as the one registered with the TM-28?

  6. Hi,

I'm GoGet, a very nice and polite guy.

What are the exact document requirements for a TM-28 (address update)?

    Rental agreement?

    Copy of owners title deed?

    Copy of owners ID card?

I need an exact and precise list.

    Also another question:

Is it always necessary that the address registered with the TM-28 (address update) is exactly the same as the one used in the TM-47 (90-day report)?

That is not clear. What did you enter Thailand prior to border run you describe.

Some folk have a ME visa based on marriage etc.

    Some have eg METV.

What was your original entry. I don't mean border bounce.

    @DrJack54

My original visa was a tourist visa. But that is not what I will have when I make my 90-day report.

I did not answer your question.

    I have NEVER done a tm30.

Each annual extension I provide a lease. Again last October lease was not looked at. Keep in mind tm30 has nothing to do with 90 day report.

For tourists and visa exempt entry and then attending imm for an extension then a tm30 would be advised. How did you last enter Thailand? Meaning via reentry permit or tourist visa or .....?

Last time I just crossed the border to Myawaddy and came back to Mae Sot the same day.

It's not MY condo. I rent.

Been here 8 years never done a tm30 even though exit and re-enter Thailand every month (prior to Covid)

My post in your other thread outlined what happend today. I handed the IO my passport and TM47.

It was my first 90 report in 8 years.

When he got to my address he said "you live at this condo'"..…..I answered yes.

That was it. Naturally I had my lease and utilities etc (overkill). Not even a mention of anything.

    Stamp stamp.

I then went to another desk for residence certificate. I had my lease ready to flop out. Again not asked for nor was a TM30.

@DrJack54 I see. Did you use the same address on your TM-47 as the address you have actually registered in Thailand with TM-30?

I just answered in your first thread. You want same post in this thread..

You answered about your condo. However the question was about temporary stays at hotel or guesthouse. Anyway all feedback is welcome as long as it's constructive. And I guess even the destructive feedback is useful in some ways sometimes.

Did your landlord ever file a TM.30 on you as required? Asking because many property owners don’t do that as they rent out their place “under the table”.

Because if not that could be another issue when trying to do a TM.47 for that residence.

No, she did not file a TM-30 when I moved in. So I don't want to ask them now either.

As I said I am not trying to do a TM-47 for this residence. I am trying to do a TM-47 using another address, preferably a temporary one.

in fact they are not required until 26th sept, what entry stamp are you on in Thailand that requires a 90 day report, . if you are applying for a yearly extension based on marriage/retirement for the 1st time, the extension counts as the 90 day report

I will be here after September 26.

Just trying to find a way to do my 90-day reports using another address to make life easier for my landlady.

Why have you never done a 90 day report before?

If if is due to never being able to stay longer than 90 days in the country then you do not need to worry about it.

If needed you would have to do it in person. The online reporting would not work for you or immigration would disapprove it.

    @ubonjoe

I have mostly had tourist visas before and doing border runs. I cannot remember ever doing a TM-47 before.

As far as I know the first time I have to visit immigration in person to register my address but after that perhaps I can do online reporting.

The question is also if I could use a guesthouse or hotel address for the TM-47 and TM-30 if I stay there for one or a few nights first instead of using my apartment address.

  14. Hi,

I'm GoGet. A very nice and polite guy.

I have never made a 90-day report before.

I was wondering if I can use a hotel or guesthouse address for the 90-day reports? I live in an apartment but I don't want to bother my landlady with this kind of paperwork.

Do I need permission from the guesthouse to use their address for the 90-day report or can I just fill out the form online with their address and submit it if I rent a room in a guesthouse temporarily?

  15. Hi,

I'm GoGet, a very nice and polite guy.

I am currently researching the visa situation now and after September 26. I am able to travel anywhere like Chiang Mai, Hua Hin or even Phuket if necessary.

    Question:

What is the best, cheapest and most reliable agent or office that offers 6 or 12 month volunteer visas now?
