  1. i wonder how many of the "end of days" memberships went directly into staff pockets?

given that the Bank is into them for 80 odd million, the staff and customers are going to have quite a wait ahead of them.

On another note, i cannot understand why, for the life of me, anyone would want to work out at Paragon. It seems neither convenient nor appealing to me in any way.

Do you hear yourself talk or think before you type or die? For the life of you, why would anyone not want to work out in Siam Paragon? There are nice restaurants to eat and chill out. Supermarkets to do your grocery and you can catch a great movie at the top floor! Not unless, you are poor as a church mouse and living on a tight budget, then goodbye....*duh!

By the way, living in Soi Langsuan for me seems like a great idea to train in Siam Paragon. It is only 10 mins from my serviced apartment!

  2. Ha..ha..ha..you guys are really cute! You have made up your mind to dislike him. What else to say? All I can say is: living in Thailand still beats living in Singapore anytime. Thai Government with all its flaws at least are not just one party and totally corrupted; unlike Singapore. At least the Thai government protects its own citizens with giving jobs priority. Singapore is the other way round, jobs priority is given to farangs first not their own citizens. Maybe you guys can consider moving to Singapore.

  3. A case of mistaken identity. I always feel sorry when someone's family member is killed or dies, but politicians live by their own rules and sometimes die by them.

Don't feel too sorry. The death of the son probably saved some poor sap from being run over by him in the future, for which, as the son of a prominent politician he would undoubtedly walk away from without any negative personal ramifications.

What crap theory and assumptions! Like you know the son personally to know that he would take after the father! For Christ's sake, he is only 27 years! Life is just the beginning for him. Too cruel of you to be judging him on the merits of his father!! Get a life!

  4. No teacher has the right to slap a student. I thought corpral punishment was banned in civilised societies 40 yrs ago. However having said that the teacher didn't deserve to be set upon by a group of thugs. The best course of action for the students would have been to report it thier parents and then the students and parents take it up with the school principal. The teacher would face disciplinary action and possible criminal charges and very possibly dismissed by the education department.

Getting a gang of people to beat on an individual is a display of complete cowardice by all. It appears that the brother did not have the guts to go and speak to the teacher alone, (probably not his place to anyway) All they have achieved is transfering the aggressor into the victim.

Tell that to screw up Singapore schools that still use caning as a discipline measure!

  5. Asked by Siamtown US to comment on allegations that his US visa was part of a "trade-off", Thaksin said: "People who don't know the truth talk a lot. Worse still, those who know are not quite smart. The first thing they should know is, the extradition treaty does not cover political cases. Mine is a political case."

It is political, only in the sense that he was in office when he committed a crime that wasn't about politics, just money. He must feel like an idiot sometimes, his greed cost him his "face"

Absolutely correct. He hides behind this "political" facade, but the truth is, he is a criminal.

He says he wants to show that he can go anywhere except Thailand. The truth on that point is that he can come to Thailand, no-one is stopping him ... but he has to accept that he will be arrested and imprisoned as soon as he lands here.

If by some freak government decision, he isn't arrested, then I'm afraid this government will have to take full responsibility for the political turmoil, perhaps indeed, civil war, that will ensue...!!

I am neither for or against Thaksin. I think you are being too harsh on him for the financial gains. Let's not forget that during his reign, farangs have a much easier time renewing their visa, e.g. crossing borders gives you one month visas and there is no limit to any amount of times you go! Now, you can do it only 3 to 4 times & you get only 15 days each time (MEAN). Registering & maintaining a farangs' company now costs more and is more restricted with the 4 staffs requirements! During Thaksin everything was easy for farangs! I don't know why the idiots are still persecuting him for something which every government in the world is doing! Making financial gains for themselves.

    Dudes, give him a break!

  6. The average Thai person wouldn't even bother reading 2 pages in daily life. cheesy.gifcheesy.gif In that aspect READING... their overall attitude sucks.

But on the other hand. The Thai government just "SETS IN those useless policies, that only "LOOK promising on the surface, but don't work "IN REALITY" ... Because reality is, that the majority of Thai people is too busy working their a***** off for just 200-300 dollars per month, and deals with all kinds of their top to bottom cultural face saving sh****, that prevents them from developing common sense,... and you think they have time or the motivation to "LEARN ENGLISH OR ANY OTHER SMART STUFF IN THE WORLD"????. And besides, their children in their free time are too busy playing with their little digital toys for 6 hours plus a day...

Welcome to the "real Thailand"... where the majority is just "freaking lazy" and "learning motivation is the biggest problem"cheesy.gifcheesy.gif

Should not generalise it like that. Though only 10 percent of the Thai population are educated, speaks impeccable English and conduct themselves really well. They are also studious and well informed. Some of them happened to be my students and I am really very proud of them.

  7. When one travels around in other Asian countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Malaysia,--even Indonesia (which I think Thailand would like to consider itself as part of this Asian family) these country's government projects (such as airports) are done top-notch and with consideration of details . Why is it that with the "Thai way", things are not done up to perfection, but (usually) with poor workmanship and not up to international standards. It seems that projects that are built here are always lacking something. (Too bad the Germans or Swiss never colonized the place.)

Ha..ha..ha.. good one. 10 percent of the population here are educated, civilised, cultured and couth. The rest....I leave it to your imaginations.... Till the overseas educated Thais takes over running the show from the old fashioned self righteous greedy old hag of a government, Thailand will never become a first world country even with all its current potential!
