  1. . The embassy staff must be working through the weekend.... Received final approval Sunday evening at 1930 hrs, less than 72 hours after submitting it. All done except for covid test, and they asked me to "please download Thailand Plus app, whatever that is.... Total time form initiating application for COE to receiving it was 75 hours.
  2. . Rode a scooter for years in LOS and only stopped once, in CM. Took my Florida license hostage and I rode the scooter to the cop shop, paid the 200 baht fine and got my license back. Whole thing was about 15 minutes out of my life.
  3. . You'd lose.... They intentionally left a year out of their prognostication. ????
  4. . Yes, they will...... But only if they can figure out how to unfold it. So, no worries.
  5. . A decade or so ago I bought some Makita cordless tools in Japan and brought them back to the States where I used them heavily for a number of years. Never a problem. I am looking at the latest 18v Lithium Ion battery for all new tools. If I buy here in the States and bring back to LOS, will I have the same experience? Other than the charger is DC, literature says nothing about voltage or hertz. It does say this: The Makita Rapid Optimum Charger communicates with the battery’s built-in chip throughout the charging process to optimize battery life by actively controlling current, voltage and temperature. There is a 12v adaptor available, for charging in a vehicle. Alas, I only have a scooter.....
  6. . What exactly happens when you ignore a user?
  7. People entering Thailand at the moment with an O-Retirement visa need the 100,000 USD Covid and the 400,000 THB inpatient and 40,000 THB outpatient cover. If true, does anyone know if AXA covers this? I can't get a straight answer.
  8. . Buying a new scooter in November, and have two questions: 1) Other than locking the handlebars, what device, reasonably priced and easy to carry/use, is a good theft deterrent? 2) Do I have to buy from a dealer in the same province as my residency? Oh, what the heck, what is a TV thread without conflict? Let's have a 3rd question: I want an automatic, not more than 65k baht..... 3) Which is better, Honda, or Yamaha? Why?
  9. In my many years with dogs in LOS, I have only found a few really good vets, but never have I found any good boarding. Even the better vets board in small cages, not runs. Pee and poop through the wire into a tray. No way. Traumatic. Coming back in September with a 6 month old border collie. The long trip is tough enough, but then there is the 16 days apart. I'm looking for a place that has dog runs, and exercise a few times a day. The vet I use here has long runs for each dog with inside and outside space, and lets a few compatible dogs out in the play yard thrice daily for 30 minutes each time. Anyone know of such a place? I'll be in ASQ in BKK, then headed for Trat, so any place in between is good.
