  1. . Geeez, what happened to all the dog lovers that used to be on TV?
  2. . We let .5% of those infected die and the rest of us get on with our lives.
  3. . They made me fill out a form last night before leaving the bar.... Boy, have taxis gone up in price! .
  4. In my many years with dogs in LOS, I have only found a few really good vets, but never have I found any good boarding. Even the better vets board in small cages, not runs. Pee and poop through the wire into a tray. No way. Traumatic. Coming back in September with a 6 month old border collie. The long trip is tough enough, but then there is the 16 days apart. I'm looking for a place that has dog runs, and exercise a few times a day. The vet I use here has long runs for each dog with inside and outside space, and lets a few compatible dogs out in the play yard thrice daily for 30 minutes each time. Anyone know of such a place? I'll be in ASQ in BKK, then headed for Trat, so any place in between is good.
  5. . At this point in history it is a waste of time to plan more than a week ahead, and then only for meals.... As for 5 years, I expect things will change more during that period than in the past 50 combined. Hope you like roller coasters.
  6. . Gee, I can't imagine this was all manipulated.... People are so honest.
  7. . Hmmm, what's that old saying....? Beggars can't be choosers.
  8. What a boring thread... Had to brew a pot just to read it.
  9. . Flux: 4 a substance mixed with a solid to lower its melting point.... The OP has certainly reached that point.
  10. So do I, as I am in great health. But this was the required covid insurance for re-entry.
  11. It is one of the largest, if not largest, well-established companies in LOS, located in Lumpini.
  12. . Thailand to gain 31,000 new hotel rooms Otherwise known as money laundering....
  13. . Sure, and that's when "misunderstandings" are claimed. No thanks, I like documents with statements made by those seeking to damage me.
  14. I never advertise my ability to speak Thai, especially when doing business. I find such a practice has many benefits, and I have no ego that needs stroking anyway. I did not say they don't have English speaking CS. What I said in my original post was that none none of them "appeared" competent in English. I have found, over the years, that some Thai companies use that to pretend not to understand, hoping to frustrate the customer until he gives up. That is why I wanted to know about any insurance commission. Let them deal with it based on all the documents I will provide them, some of which are damning. I never discuss things on the phone unless absolutely necessary. Business 101, fellas, emails or letters, physical documents that can't be deleted or denied.
  15. . I speak and type in Thai, so no problem. Thanks for the link. I knew there had to be a government organization that fit the bill.
  16. . Large, well-established Thai company that came highly recommended by other expats.
  17. I returned to LOS last December. The insurance I purchased was full coverage. In February, I experienced some health issues and went to Bumrungrad. The hospital was excellent in providing all the paperwork for the insurance claim. I supplied all the forms required by the insurance agency within a few days. All my communications were cogent and polite. The runaround then began, and I was passed from person to person, none of whom appeared reasonably competent in English, and as of the first week of August, they have become incommunicado. It's only about $600, but it pisses me off just on principle. They collect premiums from us, but make no claim payouts. With whom (government agency) can I file a complaint? EDIT: If you'd like "more info" feel free to PM me ????
  18. Update: The owners have placed a sign on the gate: Warning: Our dogs hate lemons!
  19. . Well, when I flew back to LOS in December on Singapore Air, economy had a whole 14 seats filled..... Quite comfy and lots of attention from the stewardesses.
  20. . You hope that's what you bought.... At least your screen name, unlike many others, is representative of your person.
  21. . I much prefer the Double-breasted mattress thrasher...
  22. . Street food rule #1: Wash hands only as often as you change the cooking oil, this adds umami.... That said, I thrive and survive on street food. If it ever disappears, so do I. Lastly, all the instructions above can be easily reduced to one: get a TG.
