  1. From Patong to the airport 800 Bt, from the airport to Patong 650 Bt??huh.png Am I missing something?

    Not much difference.

    Airport to Pattaya 1,500

Pattaya to Airport - start at 800 baht.

How about standard fairs LIKE IN THE REST OF THAILAND, which is by meter?!?!

And what makes Phuket so different that it justifies those horrendous fairs in the first place?

We don't have metered fares in Pattaya. They are all negotiated.

Gee you're getting ripped, Mr T charges 1000 baht from the airport to Pattaya, Anyway it's no where near the same distance, Phuket airport to Patong is half the distance.

  2. No, it doesn't bother me. But what bother me is people who continually have to ask this question.

So being called a name based solely on the colour of your skin doesn't bother you but someone who is sometimes bothered by it bothers you?!

haha what a looney ey, someone needs to reassess their ethical priorities.

  3. One question I have is why the "Thai" girl designation in the title of this thread. Is that of any relevance?

I am sure they didn't mean any offense to anyone, it is so people know the nationality of the girl. You see it in news worldwide anyway: "An Australian male was" "A Spanish national was" " A Russian tourist was" "A Japanese woman was", etc.. why are you even asking this question?

  4. This is why escalators usually have a sign saying that children should be accompanied by an adult.

Well. Wait for it. Considering how old future park is, i wouldn't be surprised if the guards on tgd escalator were missing or some other problem.

Regardless of the age of Future Park, the escalators are all in good condition and I have rarely seen a "guard" around them. Normally people riding on these people movers don't allow their hair to come in contact with the moving steps. This was a rare accident, sad indeed, but IMHO hardly negligence on the part of F.P. I hope she recovers soon.

    As i said lets see.

Walking around most shopping centres u can find pinch points and gaps betwesn railings that would be eliminated by elf and safety. One kid broke an arm going up an escalator here because of hiw tge escalator hand rail moved passes tge solid balustrade. I noticed the day the place opened.

Here these issues are eliminated by Darwinism.

If had 1 baht for every hazardous area I've seen or have come in contact with whilst in Thailand, I would be a Billionaire in dollars..

  5. Hi there,

Ok just wanted to clarify, this meaning, when you enter "free hugs" in google translate, it gives this in thai = กอดฟรี

But I don't think it has the same meaning as what it means in English, I showed someone when I was in Thailand the above wording and they said it means basically, the opposite of purchasing something, doesn't necessarily carry the same meaning, to basically give me a hug, which is the intention of the English phrasing.

Anyway so I was wondering if any Thai experts could tell me another form of saying that same phrase in Thai to have the same intended meaning that it has in English, or is google translate correct with the กอดฟรี ?

  6. Hi All,

I am new to the forum, I have been reading through these forums a few times, though I was just curious to know, if there were many U2 fans or rock fans in general in Bangkok, and Thailand really? I've been there a couple of times, though didn't really notice a real Rock presence whilst I was there, so not sure how heavy the fan base is there, could any Rocks fans living in Thailand please respond? thank you.
