  1. A fresh graduate from best colleges like ABAC, Chula, Thammasat, ect get about 10000-12000 a month.

A average soapie girl make about 50000 bahts, top side line make about 100000-150000 bahts a month. Some popular karaoke girls make over 200000 a month. A country of absurd contradiction.

So how many Thai cuties are interested in studies!!

  2. If you only want to get 1 dollar bill, you probably have to collect them in many banks. The rate won't different much for you. I usually change at Super Rich but usually a few thousand US or Euro into Thai bahts at once.

They have good rate for big amount changing both ways. I am sure they won't have many 1 dollar bill to give you, because no body go there to get 1 dollar bills. Lots of Thai people and Thai companies go there to buy dollars in huge amount.

  3. Why all these members like to compare Thailand to all the viscious ultra violent countries like US or England, are all the members from these areas?? I doubt even in the viscious US or UK will have more killing, raping, assults on tourists than Thailand.

Why don't we look at the top 20 tourist destinations according to www.world-tourism.org/

In the top 20 tourism countries, I have no doubt Thailand has most killing, raping (or combination of both), violent assults of tourists, much more than-(the top 20 order)-- France, Spain, US, China, Italy, UK, Hong Kong, Mexioco, Germany, Austria, Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, Ukrain, Poland, Greece, Hungary, (Thailand), Portugal, Netherlands.

Above is the order of top 20 world tourism countries by total international arrivals from statistics of World Tourism Organization(www.world-tourism.org/). Which country do you think has more killing, raping, stabbing, assults on tourists than Thailand??

  4. Another amazingly rediculous story out of this kingdom of thailand. I will forward this story to my friend who is a cheif of a political and human right watch dog in Sweden. Hope he will write some articles or reports on this matter or at least crack some jokes about this country in the international press.

To me, this case won't even make it to police station in all the "Far Eastern people" nations as LaoPo called it, with exception of Thailand or maybe Myanmar. Even in the harshest Singapore, where they just executed an Austarlian man for drug traffiking, it won't make any case at all either with this kind of evidence which is non-existant.

To me, maybe at first the police and the judges just tried to extort some quick cash from this poor Dutchy boy by forcing him to plead guilty of knowing his wife doing drug traffiking, but they never thought he is such a tough guy, who wanted to play his own game and insist true justice. Then the news got too big and out of control, then the police and judges had to save thier monkey faces and had to keep him in jail for life. This is a real possiblity that it ended up like this. have to remember this thailand is probably the most amazingly rediculous country in the world.

  5. I always use a Thai lady agent named Gung, who caters to Thai customers and always get the lowest fares for me. Very limited English and mostly I communicate by e-mails. After make a booking, you need to transfer the amount by ATM or in the bank to her agency. She will send you the e-ticket confirnmation code or if its paperticket, she will send you by express mail or by messenger boy if you live in BKK town area for free. Works out very nice and convenient for me. I reccommend her. Give her an e-mail, she will give you a quote.

  6. I really doubt Siam Paragon can survive. All the major brand names like Channel, Hermes, LV, Gucci, Ferragamo, Versace ect all schedule to open in there. The major target of over 70% sales still target foreign tourists especially Japanese and other foreign customers.

A girl who works in one of Gayson's brand shop told me that she also very doubtful that all these sudden increase of brand name shops will all survive. Because the market is still so limited to the Japanese and other Asian and foreign customers and the sudden increses of the brand names shops in Gayson, and Siam Paragon with existing shops in Emporium and Pensinsula plaza.

Also the prices in Japan and other Asian countries are getting much cheaper now and maybe cheaper to buy in Japan's brand name shops than in Siam Paragon or Emporium now. Also Tokyo, Osaka, Hong Kong, Honolulu, ect tend to get new merchandises much earlier than Bangkok or southeast Asian countries. She told me many shops are losing big money but stay open to be flagship shop in Thailand. There is no more merits or advantages to buy in Bangkok anymore.

We will see what happen to all these brand name shops in Siam Paragon and Gayson. I would not be surprised to see them closed down after some times.

  7. Brasil is definitely the top of my choice for living. After spending 7 years in Sao Paulo as a teen, I manage to go back to Brasil a few times a year. My brother never left Brasil even after my family went back to Danmark, and he decided to stay on. I just cannot resist the temptation of this beautiful country(and women and food too). I actually miss Brasil more than Danmark and I would say I prefer Brasil about 10 times over Thailand in overall living aspects.

But I would not live in these mega cities like Sao Paulo ot Rio, there are many other beautiful and safe and inexpensive cities on the coast.

    My top 2 picks are:

    (1)Florianopolis(Floripa)

    (2)Fortaleza

  8. Today went pass Central world trade AIS 3rd floor to book Air Asia to Singapore to see a friend. And the compuer was down. They told me the booking center's computer was down for 2 days already. Even the booking agents computer cannot connect to the booking center, i wonder how they fly their planes.

  9. Almost no Thai travel agents have live on-line air ticket booking, even for the biggest agencies do not have them either.

Usually you make booking of your ticket by e-mail or phone, then trasnfer money to them by bank, then they deliver you the ticket by messenger boy if you are in the BKK city, or they give you the confirmation code if it's e-ticket.

I recommend a lady travel agent who sells air ticket much cheaper than others in BKK, called Aloha Siam Travel, she speaks limited English, but I always write her e-mail and tell her to find me the best rate, she always takes time to look through all the promotional fares to find the best rate for me.

I always reccomend her to my friends. recent months I bought 16150 bahts round trip ticket including all taxes to BKK to Tokyo and BKK-London roundtrip 25900 included all taxes. I like her not only she is always much cheaper than others, but very honest, not like many other agents quote you all the prices without taxes, then tell you later all the hidden charges.

  10. My first trip to Thailand was 1975 with my parents who went to business trip in Singapore, I was only 5 years old and do not remember much.

I came again with my family in early 80's again business trip to HK and Singapore. The first trip as an adult I think was in 1992. I was 22 and having graduated from college, came to Southeast Asia Thailand, Malaysia, then went on to Japan. Spend in Thailand for over 1 month.

I remembered I and another Danish friend stayed in Khao San Road for a few days. The Khao San Road did not have many pubs or discos but had lots of guest houses already and lots of hippie looking foriengers. And it was very messy and cars could go in and out swerving to miss all the pedestrians and traffic jam all the time. The Suzie pub was there back then, and we really had very easy time picking up Thai student girls. Actually almost every time we went there, always some student girls wanted to know us, and we ended up taking them back to our hotel many times, or they came to see us the next day.

Another big hot spot was the opening of RCA. We went there many times and it was packed every night of the week with young kids from age 14 up. Route 66 and Morgan and another huge pub called Babe Blink across Rama 9.

Back then we were 2 young good looking Scandinavians kids with complete Nordic looking appearance with very smooth delicate skin and feature and slender, Thais always told us we look very smooth or something, we really got lots of attention from nice Thai girl, mostly nice student girls and asked us to sit and dance with them. Back then, the RCA had lots of tables outside the stores where the Thais danced around their tables in the heat. Also inside the stores was packed as sardines every night.

The Thai guys were very shy back then and did not dare to talk to girls much. Over the years, the Thai guys especially the rich ones have become very bold in hunting girls and splurged on them. Back them in RCA or any disco, you rarely see any Thai guy trying to pick up ladies. So back then it was so easy picking. The girls too were not used to boys so they feel very happy if a nice young handsome guy approach them. It was such a good memory at RCA in early 90's. I do not exaggerate, we picked up so many nice Thai girls in a month and half from RCA, we were thinking of cancelling later part of our trip to Japan and stayed more in Thailand. (we glad we made it to Japan, even much better there than Thailand back then) Back then in early 1990, the Thai girls at the disco clubs were still so naive and full of curiosity to know foreigners and so willing to back with them.

Over the 10 years, Bangkok changed a lot, night scenes changed a lot, girls mentality in disco changed a lot, in Bangkok, it's hard to pick up these cute student girls without splurging some money now.

  11. This is absolutely ridiculous country. Being a very poor country and spend all the country's resources on rediculous things that people are forbidden to talk about.

And about the rediculous work permit situation, I have the most rediculous incident ever happened to a Swedish friend last year. At the Asoke subway intersection, there are always little boys wiping the windows of car and beg for a tip. My Swedish friend befriended these boys and they gave him a wiper and he started to help wiping the windows of the cars for them for fun, and helped collected over 100 bahts of tip for these little kids over an hour or so.

Then suddenly some police came and arrested him and took him to the immigration department or rather detention. He stayed there without any interpreter and could not understand what was going on for next ten hours. These crazy officilas even asked him to show the work permit??!! Was that meant to be a joke??!! He was kept there actually until the morning and let go after defending himself all night.

It was his first trip to Thailand, and this gave him a very very bad impression of this country. He now called this nation crazy Thai every time.

  12. I have done this before. The fastest one I have ever done in my visa runs.

Air Asia 9:20 AM, BKK to Kuala Lumpur,

    arrive in KL 12:30 noon

Go out immigration and then go up to check in counter again

take Air Asia 1:40 PM, KL to BKK, arrive in BKK 2:45PM.

Air fare depends how early you reserve. Last time I paid about 4000 something bahts for air. It is the most relaxing visa run compared to the 10 hours in the Thai bus to Aran, only maybe 2000 more bahts difference.

  13. The only most common reason for people from advanced countries who want to apply for Thai citizen is for the financial reasons, such as want the right to own land, to own factories, to make real estate developement ect.

It seems like lot of Hong Kong, Singapore, Chinese and other southeast Asia businessmen who conduct business in Thailand involving real estate developement, factory, construction ect have Thai citizen or in process of getting one to facilitate the land ownership.

There maybe lots of procedures to obtain citizen, but I think it all come down to who you know, and your connections. Even a person meet all the requirements, he may take forever to apply but the other one with connections and big business ventures will get it without meeting any requirments and without any effort. I once played golf with Hong Kong man who has many factories and real estate construction and developments in Songkla and Naratiwat provinces, he can barely speak a few words of Thai and only have been here in Thailand 3 years.

But he has Thai citizen already and travels to Thailand with his Thai passport and also has Thai ID card issued from Songkla. I once asked him why he needs the Thai citizen, and he said the same thing he needs to own and run his real estate, construction, and factories in Thailand. How he got it so easy? He told me in Thailand, "you do some good to others and others do some good to you, mutual mutual"as he said in exact words.

  14. I looked at a friend's non immigrant O one-year multiple visa . The visa says use it BEFORE December 15. Does it mean the last day he can enter Thailand with this visa is December 14 or does it mean the last day is December 15?

He is confused about the wording of the visa. He asked me to ask this forum for the exact last available day either Dec 14 or 15? so he can make a border crossing accordingly and come back to get his last 90 days.

  15. I am going to accompany a friend to Penang to get a tourist visa for him. He reserved Air Asia for me yesterday but the timing is not quite right.

Go to Hat Yai on Air Asia on Thursday. Arrive Hat Yai about 5 PM.

Come back to Bangkok on next Tuesday from Hat Yai at 4:30 pm or so.

So I look at his reservation and try to figure it out the safe way. So we have to basically arrive in Penang on the same Thursday so we can give his passport to the agent on Thursday night or at latest Friday morning and get his tourist visa back on Monday afternoon and come back to Hat Yai get ready for for Tuesday 4:30 pm flight back to BKK.

Is there any transportation like mini bus or shared taxi from Hat Yai to Penang at about 6-7 PM at these late hours?? and information appreciate.

  16. For guys going to Koh Samui, Koh Pang Gan, or Surathani, take the cheap Orient Thai Airways to Surathani then ferry onto Koh Samui or Phan Gan, spend a thousand bahts more and save one day and night of nightmare on the wobbling bus and SAVE your life.

For other destinations, take Air Asia, Nok Air, Orient Thai, they cover almost all the destinations. Very cheap compared to EU. Book early on line save more money. I have not take any long distance bus since the operations of these budget airlines sevearl years ago.

  17. Forgot to mention about the possession.

Possession do sometimes occur. generally it has two types. One is the forceful possession and the other one with consent.

In the cases of kids, it's the forceful possession or entry by these earthly bound spirits or energies that took over the coarse bodies and consciousness of the kids.

You can see it as a theif (the earthly bound or attached energies) that forcefully enter someone's house(someone's coarse body) and hyjack the owner (the astral energy or spirit that belong to this coarse body) of the house.

The other kind of possession is that of the mediums. This is the voluntary possession. The mediums have the ability to "tune" into the vibration state of a certain spirit form or energy and communicate with it and also allow the spirit to "borrow" his/her coarse body in order to be communicate or be active in this 3rd dimmensional coarse realm for a short time period.

  18. What is weird or bizzare about this. I told you that we are living in a multi-dimensional universes. All of us humanoids in all over the universes possess a physical entity and also a astral entity. When we reincarnate into this 3rd dimensional lower realm with a physical body, our astral entity has to dwell inside our physical body in order to achieve consciouness and knowlege. The astral side also need the physical coarse body to experience the all kinds of feelings in this 3rd dimensional lower realm.

These spirits in this news are in the borderline of the 2 dimensions. They are of very low vibrational state that attached to our physical realm for sometimes or for eons and these low vibrational spirits refused to enter into the upper astral realm mostly due to their unresistable strong earthly desires and they choose to stay in the inter-demensional realm, somewhat still to be a part of our physical dimension. As almost all of us humanoids in the whole universe with a coarse body will naturally follow and return to the upper astral dimension after our coarse body dies and be ready for another 3rd dimensional reincarnation when time is ready. This is the law of nature that applys between this coarse universe of physical realm with the fine matter astral universe.

These spirits that possess people are of very low state of vibration with so much physical desires that refused to leave the physical world and choose to stay in the inter demensions for sometime. Generally these spirits are of negative energy.

  19. I have been pulled over alltogether 5 times in the past. 3 of the times with small traffic offenses and 2 times without any apparent reasons. For the 3 traffic offenses, i got away with 200-300 bahts coffee money, 2 of the times the police asked me themselves to pay "penalty" to them so I don't need to go to police station, and the other time I offered the police "kin gafee" 200 bahts (drink coffee) and he happily took it and waved me away.

The other 2 times with no apparent reasons, I got off 1 time without hassel and the other time in Hat Yai the young police kid got interested in the Indonesian Garam cigaretts my friend passenger was smoking and he asked us to give him a few sticks and thanks us and waved us to go.

  20. Boy Canada you should save your 5 million. It will be gone in no time if you want to do bar business in Thailand. Sounds like you still very newbie to this tricky country. Just believe us, you most likely will be going home empty handed if you pour your money into the night biz.

Put your money in some good mutual funds or bonds and use the interests and dividents and have a good time in Thailand just like me and many other people. Get a one year multiple visa and just enjoy it. Thailand is not a place for some foreigner to do some little individual investment and hope to flourish. This is still a very backward 3rd world country not only in living standard and wealth but also in term of people's basic mentality, consciouness, knowledge, education, ect ect and the you will run into lots of problems that you never will dream of. So boy Canada, do lots of research before you invest in anything in any third world countries. Lots of people have already learn tough lessons.
