Perhaps they will require a mandatory absence period from Thailand, when the new tourist visa expires.
I seem to remember India applied a 2 month re-entry restriction.

In 2005 Phuket Air was banned from Europe, after a few close calls....
An in-flight fuel leak on a london bound flight, made press headlines in the UK.

I would suspect that View Talay PLC , do in fact have a hotel license.
The lower 6 floors in VT8 are run as a hotel.
Last year we had Russians staying 1/2 weeks.
This year they are coaching in Chinese, for 1/2 night stays.
All VT staff involved in guest reception and catering, wear orange and brown uniforms.
Security- bare minimum.
Pool supervision-zero.

No need for the mini bus adventure anymore...
There is an early morning direct bus from BKK Morchit all the way to Siem Reap. 750b last year.
call centre t. 1490 or 02 936 0657
You can also book online with thaiticketmajor.com
The usual border scams still apply, far better to obtain an e-visa online.

I get my condo locks changed by BIG KEY www.thaibigkeypattaya.com 086-6996628
They can deal with anything from safes to installations.
They attend in a mobile workshop van. So fewer comings and goings.
They are located opposite Pattaya kart Speedway.

I was in a similar position earlier this year.
I purchased a DTAC 3g package at BKK Airport
I stay in a very high condo in south Jomtien. The DTAC 3G reception was very poor and spasmodic..
The DTAC help-line operative, admitted that reception in Jomtien was somewhat patchy. ..she also suggested that I live much too high! (My DTAC phone works fine)
I subsequently puchased a similar AIS 3G package from AIS on the ground floor in Central. (they set it all up) The AIS reception is much superior..
Both packages suggested that they were unlimited. This is a complete falsehood. (See previous T.V. posts)
I would suggest you ask your neighbours, which provider they use.

Last time I travelled between Pattaya and Hua Hin I used "Yellow Bus". The destination sign reads koh Samui.
The departure time is 1800 arriving at Hua Hin 2230.
The return Hua Hin- Pattaya bus departs around midnight. The fare was 270 bart. The bus only stops in Hua Hin if you are prior booked.
Phone YELLOW BUS on 081 0861050 . Englishspeaking number.
Incidently, I did travel on the Wave Piecer ferry service between Pattaya and Hua Hin some 30 years ago. The ferry came up from Bangkok.
The problem was that there were only a few Hotels in Hua Hin then. The resort mainly depended on Thai weekend Visitors.
The sevice was pulled, and transferred to the Phuket- Penang service.

Just watched a world weather forecast.
Snow predicted in Moscow tonight. That should encourage a few shivering visitors..

It is worth checking to see if your Qantas flight is a code share with Emirates.
I recently Booked a london BKK QF flight and subsequently realised it was in fact an Emirates flight.
If you go into manage my booking on the Emirates website , you can also find your EK locator number.
I was then able to select seats etc.
I would also add that the QF fare, was about £100 cheaper than if I had booked with Emirates.
I booked with Netflights UK

View Talay 7 Jomtien- is indeed located right bang on the beachfront.
It was subject of lengthy litigation, prior to being constructed in front of the "Shenanigan's Bar" high rise.
One of the blocks faces inland, but View Talay let these unsold condos out to Russian short stay package tourists

PP PRUNE pilots forum have pictures of the tickets. Used by the the stolen passport holders. Priced inThai bart (They could well be fake)
However, a OP checked out the booking locator number... and the tickets were alledgedly issued in
Pattaya.

I had a similar problem with Emirates.
They suggested that I paid for the tickets by Paypal.
All worked out fine.

Phayo
in Chiang Rai
From HEREStrolling around Kwan Phayao, don’t be surprised if you spot a mammoth structure built of golden teak partially obscured by a huge banyan tree and restaurants around it. It is the Suthaphakti Mansion built during King Rama V’s reign.
We stumbled upon it by chance while walking back after the boat ride. Closed to the public, visitors can only admire its splendid architecture from a distance. We were lucky to get a closer glimpse of this colonial-style mansion of the late Luang Srinakra Nukul, thanks to the owner of a sidewalk restaurant who also doubles as its caretaker.
He took us on a tour of the mansion where members of the royalty and government dignitaries have spent nights when travelling to Phayao, which is not surprising at all as in those days the province, dominated by mountains and paddy fields, has few guesthouses or hotels of note for tourists.
Built on a nine rai plot, the mansion or the main structure has two support buildings that stand independently. Their interior, still in good condition, boasts Western and Chinese architectural influences. Although signs of wear and tear could be spotted here and there, overall the mansion was still in good condition.

Phayo
in Chiang Rai
I was recently in Phayo, and i was very impressed by a large lakeside wooden villa.
It is in French colonial style, similar to those found in Laos.
I think some preservation work has been done on it.
does anybody know the history of it?

Can we have a little more light and a little less heat in this topic please.
Good point.
I am curious whether anyone knows whether this will also mean a change in policy regarding issuing multiple entry tourist visas from the west and Penang?
I read in the "Phuket Gazette" , that Penang was going to stop issuing double entry visas. However other countries reported no change.

Can anybody suggest any vegetarian Restaurants in the Pattaya/Jomtien district?
I know about the Monthly Veggie dining club, and a few Indian places . I find the hotel buffets such as the Apex, are useful.
Any other ideas?
cheers....

There was indeed a fast very sea worthy wave-piecer service ,operating on this route in the mid 80s.
It operated a triangular route out of Bangkok.
Hua Hin was mainly a pre-bar weekend Thai resort then, so the route was not really viable.
The vessel was transferred to Phuket to operate to Penang and Lankawi.
