works fine on most android boxes I have tired, i.e. MX, MXq, M8 but you need to update to the latest version
It will work on these boxes, yes, but it will be limited to 720P maximum resolution... which may or may not bother you I guess.
Approved boxes (AppleTV, Roku, FireTV, Chromecast) are able to support 1080P and in the case of Roku4 and FireTV, 4K.

A Chromecast will do the same job for about half the price.
The Chromecast is a very cheap way to get video from the your phone or PC on the TV, but it's not a universal replacement for a standalone box with it's own remote.
There's something still to be said for a device that can still be used when your phone's on charge and the PC is asleep for the night
For using Netflix, I disagree. Navigating the Netflix GUI using a remote and a screen ten feet away is a tiresome experience, compared to flicking through videos on a phone, tablet or laptop, then casting the one you choose to the tv.
Incidentally, you realise you can still use your phone whilst it's charging, right?
Really? I can use my phone while it's charging? No way! Far out, you are just too clever
But yes - If you live alone, I can't see any reason why'd you want a dedicated box, with a dedicated remote - the chromecast is a great way to mirror video and works perfect for a solo person.
If you have family or friends that come to visit, there's definitely something to be said for "hand me the remote" ability

If considering the Chromecast, you may want to consider getting the 2nd generation one:
http://www.lazada.co.th/google-chromecast-2015-red-3608161.html
It's not that much more expensive than the 1st generation, but that's still a big price to pay for something that MSRP's for USD $35.

I've found a free channel that plays Netfix stuff can't tell you the name cause in on the beach.Found it by chance,it redirects you to a 3rd party site.Watching Lillyhamer full episodes on it most evenings free.
Congrats Ace - you've found a way to save a whopping 280 Baht/month
I just hope it doesn't come with too many nasty surprises mate

House of cards - No
Orange is the new black - Yes
That's interesting, because the supposed full list of Netflix Thailand's catalog that was linked above didn't list either series as being available here. So apparently, the list is not entirely accurate.
I think the reason they don't have House of Cards is because they gave the right to CBS RTL Entertainment for Asia, here it's shown true.
I read that before Netflix launched in Australia, they gave rights to Foxtel, so when it launched it wasn't available. But after it launched they cancelled the rights and it was shown on Netflix.
So my guess is we will have to wait.
Right. Now that Netflix is a global operator, who do you think is winning all future content licensing contracts?

My Everest came home last night. It's covered in tiny little pieces of steel, because the loaner parked it next to construction workers cutting roof trusses. It's even bonded to the windows.
Time for me to start all over again

For #6 and #7 you really do want a machine (dual action polisher recommended), and you'll also need appropriate cutting/polishing compounds.
Some experience will help too. Very easy to buff thru the clear coat and the thin paint coatings these days, especially on sharp edges and around corners.
If using a rotary polisher, absolutely, but OTOH if you're using a rotary for the first time, the bigger issue will be just be keeping it under basic control
Dual action polishers are super easy to control, even the very first time you use one, and do not carry the risks of damage. As they say, a child could do it

I am thinking of shampooing the car myself and use clay bar then wash it. After that sending the car to the car wash shop for high pressure car wash again. After all this, thinking of diy glass coating myself. Qns is do I use polishing from the shop before glass coating or it is't necessary? What will be the additional step to remove swirl/scratches in between?
1. Wash
2. Dry
3. Clay bar (remove bonded surface contaminants)
4. Wash (to remove clay residue)
5. Dry
6. Cut (remove scratches, swirls, holograms, oxidization)
7. Polish (make it super shiny)
8. IPA clean (isopropyl alcohol / Carpro Eraser to remove all existing residues)
9. Glass coat (lock it in)
Those are the basic steps for a perfect result

So the reason why car coating shop charge 20000+ is the prep needed ?
And do you know the difference between nano coating, quartz coating, ceramic coating, etc...?
Thanks a lot.
At that price, you'd hope there was a big effort in preparing the paint first - but who knows?
Some of them might be trying to convince you that's the price of their product, and the labor is free, for all I know
My only advice is to ask exactly what's included. If you can post that here, we can comment.

Not really, - if you wanted to pat yourself on the back, you'd say you used MaigeTV right up to it's dying day, then switched the iLikeHD, but still use Netflix because 480P and 720P streams always did, and always will, suck

I don't see a compelling reason to buy a VPN after reading that unless thailand starts to restrict mature contentInteresting article on the TechCrunch website written about Netflix's worldwide launch by a fellow Thailand expat (and talking about the continuing reason some might want to still use VPNs).
Now That Netflix Is Global, You Should Go Buy A VPN
http://techcrunch.com/2016/01/06/now-that-netflix-is-global-you-should-go-buy-a-vpn/
Sent from my SC-01D using Tapatalk
Here's why you still might want a VPN:
Thailand content is lacking, third worst in the world:
http://www.finder.com/netflix-usa-vs-world-content
But with a VPN you can access the USA catalogue...
The Thai Netflix has only 8% of the US TV library, and just 4.5% of the Movie library. Plus it has exactly zero 4K titles right now.
A Thai Netlfix subscription with a VPN to the US gets you the full US catalog.

Q: What's the best, low cost box/dongle for Netflix streaming, that is confirmed working with the new TH service?
As I understand it, Netflix us different crypto keys for each region - so something actually tried and tested with the new TH service would be awesome
I also note that none of my SmartTV's or older network streamers have been updated with Netflix yet - so I guess Netflix didn't give the manufacturers much lead time.
I'm going to answer my own question
This (albeit outdated) wikipedia page covers the boxes that work, along with their maximum supported resolution:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Netflix_compatible_devices
The bottom line is, none of the generic Android boxes, like the Minix etc, can do Netflix in a native app - on those the only thing you can do is view in a browser, which in turn means a max. resolution of only 720P.
So far, it appears the best overall option for me is the Amazon FireTV - the 2nd generation can support 4K Netflix, and it's also possible to side load your own Android apps, such as the iLIkeHD player. If you just want the cheapest option, the Google Chromecast is probably where you should be looking.
In the meantime, I'll just have to get by with my PS4 - the Netflix app for that was updated on the 6th of Jan, and I can confirm it supports 1080P Netflix perfectly. The user interface is very snappy, and the controls very intuitive too. It's never going to support 4K though, as it doesn't have HDMI2.0 and doesn't support HDCP 2.2.

Is there anything on netflix that you cant already download for free? For example, when a new netflix series is released in its entirity ( 10 episodes or whatever) it always appears, all 10 episodes, in the usual download places within 24 hours.
Suppose if Thailand started to block kickass, pirate bay, etc, then netflix would become an alternative but as of now, in Thailand, there seems no point in paying for netflix when you can download everything for free !!
If something is not available to get here I have no problems downloading it. If there is an easy way to obtain it legally, I don't mind paying a nominal fee to the content creators and providers so in the end I can have more to view.
At THB350 / month I think this is very reasonable.
I've found that there's not much point arguing with the content pirates - these are usually the same people who still think downloading MP3's is clever

save yourself some money if you want to watch netflix on an android media box.
i have the minix x8h and it only streams netflix content in very pixelated sd.
netflix only allows full hd streaming to "Netflix approved" android devices whatever their capability. my box can do 4K, but netflix simply wont allow it.
i signed up this afternoon. could not get an HD stream and through research discovered that there are very few netflix approved android media players and netflix has little to no interest in adding to the list unless they have shipped millions of units already.
They had then lost my business, Kodi, Geneis and Salts work plenty well and offer much higher quality streams.
I was hopeful, then i unsubscribed. terrible quality and no way to fix it unless i hook my laptop back up to the tv, and that wont happen.
It's not just boxes you need to be careful of - according to this help page, there's only a few browsers that can support 1080P:
https://help.netflix.com/en/node/23742?lang=en&nodeId=23742
This kind of harks back to my question before - seeing as Netflix use different crypto keys for each region, what I'm after is a known, tested box that can do a minimum 1080P (ideally 4K) on the TH service.
-
Cheers IMHO. What about love news channels? Any sign?
First you need to tell me "love news channels" are
Edit: OK, I'm gonna guess you meant "Live news channels" - in that case, no, Netflix is all video-on-demand (movies, cartoons and TV series) - it doesn't do live TV channels.

Shot in the dark, but, do they have Thai subtitles?
I have skimmed through about 20 titles so far - no Thai subs or dubs.

Does your smart TV not have a web browser ?
Of course, as to the laptops we've used to watch Netflix for the past 2 or 3 years. I'd prefer an "it just works" box, ala MaigeTV, if such a thing exists though.
Maige was great- pity it stopped recently. But Netflix to the rescue- perfect timing:) I use an apple tv box- works perfectly (also get free live UK sky news channel on apple tv, no VPN needed) and you also get all the itunes TV/movies shows in thailand without VPN- pay by the episode/movie - good complement if netflix is missing something you want to watch.
The days of messing around with VPNs and dodgy, slow downloading are well and truly over - finally!
Yeah, I just wanted to avoid paying 8000+ Baht each for a box - I have 6 of them to buy if I get one for each TV...
Netflix is not a true replacement for Maige either... it's TV series are all 1+ season old (unless they're Netflix originals) and it's Movies are all so old you haven't seen them on Maige for 2 years... But, something is better than nothing - thus better than Truevisions

The pickup truck based Song Taews with ISUZUs out number all other makes by 4 to 1. I wonder why?
That one is simple. Because the coachbuilders making the box on the back offer better pricing on versions that fit Isuzu trays (economics of scale), and don't make versions for many pickups.
The same goes for the guys making cages and 2-ton wheel & suspension upgrades for pineapple farmers.
In these cases, you choose the pickup based on the parts available, not choose the pickup then try to find the parts to modify it.

My vote goes to all the people that nominated me... reciprocating the kind gesture.
Which means no-one.

Why not doing it yourself ?
Where are you going to find gunite/shotcrete in TH at reasonable prices though?
That's a pretty big spanner in the plans. It would be great of you could, but the only vendors I've found charge absolutely silly prices for it. Defeats the purpose of DIY.

Great replies !!!
1. So all glass coating places can also clay and wax ?
2. I guess its a must to polish before glass coating ?
3. And about coating, how to know which brand will last longer ?
4. Are they all similar ?
More great replies please ;-)
1. All glass coating places should be masters of paint preparation - that's actually the major expense - not the coating itself.
2. The paint must be *perfect* before applying a coating. Coatings do not have any fillers so cannot hide paint defects like other products can. So yes, a multistage cut/polish is a requirement.
3. There's a thousand brands, and most formulations haven't actually been used long term yet. Ignore claims, believe only warranties - and use your own judgement as to whether the vendor will be around to service the warranty, what the warranty actually covers, and what your responsibilities are in order to avoid voiding the warranty.
4. They are all based on the same kind of chemicals: Silicon Dioxide, Siloxane, Alkoxysilane, Methoxysilane, Fluorine compounds etc. Catalysts, purity, bases and formulas vary though - all of which impact hardness, lifespan, clarity and hydrophobic properties. They all perform well, but some definitely perform better than others.

Netflix is now available in Thailand

It's not about the capability of the box - it's about how Netflix limit resolution depending on device/browser.
