  1. Strange about them wanting a full A4 sheet for each photo. We took them like that as we did the previous year but this time they said no there have to be two photos on each A4 !
  2. Applied for my second marriage extension a couple of days ago. I was previously on retirement extensions and have been going to the same office for 12 years. Called in two weeks earlier to arrange an appointment but when I arrived they had "no record" of the appointment they had given us. Waited an hour outside the office in the heat before they accepted the paperwork from us. They came back an hour later with new paperwork which they said had to be filled in with blue ink. (Have used black ink for the past 12 years no problem) They also produced several new forms for us to fill in which we have never seen before and are not online. They questioned our Thai witness who lives just down the road from us, wanting to know his life story, job, income etc. They then said we should bring the person we bought the land from to be a witness as they would know more about us. My wife pointed out that we bought the land at a government auction and as such had no contact with the previous owner. They also asked what my monthly pension is. Never been asked before even on retirement extensions. We had countersigned all the necessary documents and photos but they brought them all back now with an immigration certification stamp on them so we had to re- sign them at the bottom of their stamp. Basically they made what should be a formality in to a ridiculous procedure. Amazing Thailand for sure !
  3. I arrived on 25th December and was given a pink slip at Suvarnabhumi when they checked my documents. The pink slip is to give to the hospital that does the second PCR test so you don't have to pay for it. I did my first PCR test on arrival at the Suvarnabhumi Novotel. I paid extra for an "express" service and got the negative test result after one hour and then checked out and drove home. I downloaded the Mor Chana app on arrival and scanned the Thailand Pass QR code. It showed my details in amber as "medium risk". Six days later I went to Hua Hin hospital for the second PCR test and got a printed copy of the negative result the next day. Then I forgot about it. When I looked at my Mor Chana app last night at the notifications I had three messages dated 9th, 10th & 11th Jan saying to upload the second test result on the link they provided. I did so and 10 minutes later the app showed my details in green and "very low risk" So the system does seem to work or perhaps I was lucky.
  4. Arrived Suvarnabhumi today with the test and go. I was given piece of paper saying I have to have a second covid pcr test in 5-7 days at a government approved testing hospital. Anybody know where to find a list of these ? Thanks
  5. Applied yesterday for the Thailand Pass, Test & Go. Just received the QR code today !
  6. I applied two days ago, received almost instant emailed registration receipt but no reference number. Just applied again and was given a reference number immediately. Checked status and it showed "reviewing" Let's hope they send a QR code soon. Apparently some lucky guys received their QR codes almost immediately !
  7. I was an airline pilot for 44 years. My experience with cabin crew with the airlines I flew for, including two Thai airlines, was that, although they were proficient at putting on make up, whenever there was any abnormal situation or emergency they were totally useless and couldn't remember their procedures.
  8. When I was eight years old I asked my mother where I came from. My mother quickly left the room saying that she had to take a pan off the stove. I then asked my father. He looked embarrassed, hesitated and then told me they found me in the garden under a flower. I spent the rest of that day looking around the garden. I subsequently learned about sex by listening to older children at primary school ! Even later on when I was at Grammar school the Biology lessons only discussed how plants reproduce !
  9. It says on the TAT release that foreign residents of Thailand can travel from here to one of the countries and back again (without applying the 21 day rule)
  10. My experience and that of my Thai wife of private hospitals here is that they prescribe as many unnecessary and unsuitable medicines as possible and push you to sign up for expensive medical procedures and tests that you don't actually need. It is all about money.
  11. That is a false generalization. I met my Thai wife on the internet before I visited Thailand. She is an educated woman and has never been to a bar in her life.
