It was Phetchaburi. Probably for all the reasons you mentioned.

Applied for my second marriage extension a couple of days ago. I was previously on retirement extensions and have been going to the same office for 12 years. Called in two weeks earlier to arrange an appointment but when I arrived they had "no record" of the appointment they had given us. Waited an hour outside the office in the heat before they accepted the paperwork from us. They came back an hour later with new paperwork which they said had to be filled in with blue ink. (Have used black ink for the past 12 years no problem)
They also produced several new forms for us to fill in which we have never seen before and are not online. They questioned our Thai witness who lives just down the road from us, wanting to know his life story, job, income etc.
They then said we should bring the person we bought the land from to be a witness as they would know more about us. My wife pointed out that we bought the land at a government auction and as such had no contact with the previous owner. They also asked what my monthly pension is. Never been asked before even on retirement extensions. We had countersigned all the necessary documents and photos but they brought them all back now with an immigration certification stamp on them so we had to re- sign them at the bottom of their stamp. Basically they made what should be a formality in to a ridiculous procedure. Amazing Thailand for sure !

I arrived on 25th December and was given a pink slip at Suvarnabhumi when they checked my documents. The pink slip is to give to the hospital that does the second PCR test so you don't have to pay for it. I did my first PCR test on arrival at the Suvarnabhumi Novotel. I paid extra for an "express" service and got the negative test result after one hour and then checked out and drove home. I downloaded the Mor Chana app on arrival and scanned the Thailand Pass QR code. It showed my details in amber as "medium risk". Six days later I went to Hua Hin hospital for the second PCR test and got a printed copy of the negative result the next day. Then I forgot about it.
When I looked at my Mor Chana app last night at the notifications I had three messages dated 9th, 10th & 11th Jan saying to upload the second test result on the link they provided. I did so and 10 minutes later the app showed my details in green and "very low risk" So the system does seem to work or perhaps I was lucky.

Arrived Suvarnabhumi today with the test and go. I was given piece of paper saying I have to have a second covid pcr test in 5-7 days at a government approved testing hospital. Anybody know where to find a list of these ? Thanks

Applied yesterday for the Thailand Pass, Test & Go. Just received the QR code today !

I applied two days ago, received almost instant emailed registration receipt but no reference number.
Just applied again and was given a reference number immediately. Checked status and it showed "reviewing"
Let's hope they send a QR code soon. Apparently some lucky guys received their QR codes almost immediately !

Now as an airline employee I have to give a little support for those 'angry old dragons'
As much as a little eye candy for old men is appreciated, you have to understand what a flight attendants role is.
Yes they are doling out the food and booze. But if push comes to push comes to shove you want flight attendants who help you survive a medical emergency, or worse still some aircraft event.
Now I've flown millions of miles on a helluva lot of airlines, and with TG several other SE Asian airlines, I'm not sure in that 'push comes to shove' moment they would be a lot of use.
So, he/she may not be all that pretty, but think about their training and what you trust them to do for you in some crisis.
Then make your choice
I was an airline pilot for 44 years. My experience with cabin crew with the airlines I flew for, including two Thai airlines, was that, although they were proficient at putting on make up, whenever there was any abnormal situation or emergency they were totally useless and couldn't remember their procedures.

When I was eight years old I asked my mother where I came from. My mother quickly left the room saying that she had to take a pan off the stove. I then asked my father. He looked embarrassed, hesitated and then told me they found me in the garden under a flower. I spent the rest of that day looking around the garden. I subsequently learned about sex by listening to older children at primary school ! Even later on when I was at Grammar school the Biology lessons only discussed how plants reproduce !

All intending travellers should note that when coming from one of the 46 listed countries there is a provision that they must have resided in that country for at least the previous 21 days.
So any expat who needs to travel outside of Thailand for a shorter period will not be allowed to return.
At least that is how I read it.
It says on the TAT release that foreign residents of Thailand can travel from here to one of the countries and back again (without applying the 21 day rule)

My experience and that of my Thai wife of private hospitals here is that they prescribe as many unnecessary and unsuitable medicines as possible and push you to sign up for expensive medical procedures and tests that you don't actually need. It is all about money.

One could rightly say that any foreigner who came to the Kingdom and hooked up with a Thai woman (or man) came here for sex. Only those who came with a partner from their home country -- and never, ever got any action on the side from a local -- are exempt from that label. Any foreigner with a Thai partner who says they didn't come here for sex is a liar and/or in denial. The holier than thou attitude displayed by some folks around here is hypocritical at best.
Maybe they should create a new visa category: sexpat-in-training, minimum investment one baht gold chain, a pickup truck, and a Chang singlet ????
That is a false generalization. I met my Thai wife on the internet before I visited Thailand. She is an educated woman and has never been to a bar in her life.

Just now, Wookie said:I live in Phetchaburi province. I visited the government hospital in Cha-Am the other day with my Thai wife to see if I could get vaccinated. They took a copy of my passport and booked me for a jab next Monday. Perhaps I was just lucky.

It seems more user friendly if you use a smartphone

Went online at 0845. Site opened on mobile at 0908 but not on PC until 0910.
Typed very quickly, submitted and received response "Your response has been recorded"
Better than previous 2 days but will wait and see !

Terms of entry should make the insurance situation clear. when returning from UK in Jan 2021 a condition of CoE was that I had insurance for Covid for $100,000.
Government web-site for CoE should make this clear. When I applied it was 'No proof of insurance policy, no CoE'
My advice; unless you really have to leave Thailand, do not. It is not worth the hassle and expense of ASQ to get back into the country.
Your advice is valid, probably best to delay my trip until the quarantine rules are relaxed and I get vaccinated here (whenever that may be as I would only have the Pfizer)

Covid 19 insurance is required for entry to the country. It will need to valid for the length of stay you get when you enter the country which in your case will be when your extension and re-entry permit expires.
You can purchase it online here. https://www.tipinsure.com/CovidRegional/product_detail
Understood thanks, do I also need a separate health insurance policy aswell as the covid insurance ?

You will need to get a Certificate of Entry (COE) from the appropriate Thai embassy (which I think is in Abu Dhabi). For this, you will need flight and ASQ bookings, as well as Covid insurance. Prior to departure from the UAE, you will also need a negative Covid test taken no more than 72 hours before departure.
Do I need covid insurance ? I thought if married to a Thai it is not a requirement. I am in Thailand now without insurance but I need to get a policy to come back ?

Hi,
I need to travel from Thailand to UAE for a few days and travel back here. I have a current non o marriage extension. It seems quite straight forward to leave here but how about coming back ? I understand I will have to quarantine on arrival here but what will I need before leaving UAE ?
All information appreciated.
Thanks,
Wookie

Anybody know how long you have to wait for the marriage extension after submitting the documents ? I am changing from a retirement extension. I heard that some offices can issue them immediately but others have to send everything to Bangkok. How about Phetchaburi office ?

Bought an air purifier for the house today at HomePro. What a difference ! After only 30 minutes it brought the air quality of all particles in the house to the bottom end of the safe green zone. Strongly recommend to buy one if you want to breathe healthy air !

Immigration seem to be deliberately making marriage extensions more difficult
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

Strange about them wanting a full A4 sheet for each photo. We took them like that as we did the previous year but this time they said no there have to be two photos on each A4 !
