  1. You are over complicating the situation by continuing to link Thai and British passport criteria.

Your son does not need a Thai passport to qualify for a UK one.

Having a Thai passport has no bearing on your sons UK application.

Treat each application as separate and independent.

There is no need to mention a UK passport or application for a Thai one.

As for your sons address use his Thai one. You do not have to be on the tabian ban. For your entry use your UK one and / your sons address which is where you stay in Thailand.

These days it is quite common to split time between two adresses.

  2. It appears you are suggesting that your sales turnover is gross pay but your tax return shows only £15479 after expenses which is your net taxable income.

By claiming those expenses you have brought your income below the £18,600 which is needed to qualify.

It would have been better to have used an accountant to produce your tax return and assist you in making sure your earnings were over the prescribed level.

I am sure others will be along shortly to offer advice as to,what you do next.

  3. The whole country will continue like this for the future through lack of management and decent government.

The poor farmers are at the bottom of the food chain.

Usually borrowing of the crop before planted and so often exploited by gold shops who charge extortionate rates of interest.

    So much for subsistance farming.

It does not work anywhere in the world.

  4. Tony Fernandes and Richard Branson are brilliant and have proven it over, and over again

I would throw Michael O'Leary in that group as well.

Hard to argue against the award.

People should remember what an LLC airline is all about.

It is all about cost. They are cheap and cheerful and virtually everything Air Asia does ticks the box in that respect.

If you want a better quality service there are an adequate number of providers for you to choose from.

Like many low cost carriers, Air Asia have been responsible for opening new routes all over the place.

    I agree.

Never had a problem with Air Asia or Ryanair.

It does what it says on the tin.

They also keep the prices of competitors down.

If youndon't like low cost carriers pay more and fly with someone else.

As for accidents ...well without mentioning any names one big flag carrier had a bad 2014!

  5. Socialism is all about spending other peoples money until it runs out.

The Greeks have had an easy time relaxing in the warm climate, enjoying a lifestyle they dont work hard for and retiring early while expecting industrious northern Europe to bale them out.

Well now it is payback time and if they think they have had austerity in the past the future holds some nasty surprises

  6. The capitalist system is driven by supply and demand.

With fracking we now have more supply to the point where the USA is almost self sufficient.

So demand has dropped and so have prices.

I dont think the USA will ever expose their energy needs to the whims of a few Arab sheiks in future.

Towards the end of the war Germany had no oil imports turning instead to coal to oil technology.

The UK has 200 years plus coal reserves.

It also has a vast amount of oil waiting to be fracked.

The great thing about the US or UK supplying their own energy is there are no transportation costs.

  7. What a wonderful salutary lesson in the process of inquiry and justice where cash nor position does not buy off the possible charges and sentence.

Hmm with a 10 day extension maybe some back room negotiations are taking place. The case looks pretty cut and dried to me what is the need for an extension. Maybe both countries are looking for a way out to save face?

Possibly the Japanese authorities, besieged by requests from Kamronwit's backers, are giving those backers time to come-to-grips with the reality that Japan cannot be seen as weak on international air travel safety and the other reality that, no matter how sympathetic the Japanese authorities may be, Kamronwit, himself, is responsible for his being in deep poo.

    .

I think you may missunderstand the Japanese police and prosecution system.

If they had been worried about international reaction they would not have arrested the former Toyota head of PR who is a US citizen.

A former Bangkok police chief is no big deal.

Their guns laws are almost cast in stone.

If he was going to get treated lightly he would be out by now.

  8. So it appears Thailand can only get enough fish to sell locally and on the world markets if it is taken by slave crews and uncontrolled fishing in neighbouring waters.

The EU are not going to be buying Thai fish if they continue with the old model so where will they sell?

As others have said scare tactics to bully the government in to concedeing defeat.

This is similar to the rip off taxi and jetski mafia in Phuket.

  9. This is not about giving "Islamist terrorists" nukes.

Iran is negotiating with the five original nuclear members of the United Nations Security Council the USA, Britain, France, Russia and China plus Germany on a deal to lift crippling international sanctions in return for an agreement to keep their nuclear programme restricted to power generation.

Something that India,Pakistan,North Korea and Israel have not done.

Iran is not a land locked country that could be forced in to submission and indeed if they wanted to go down the path of having a nuclear armoury I am sure a deal can easily be done with Moscow or China in the current climate.

If I was running a Middle East country opposed to fundamentalist Islam I would be more concerned with the ISIS threat.

The so called worlds strongest military power is not capable of controlling the swarm of evil they released in an attempt to eliminate the weapons of mass destruction that never existed.

  10. one suspects Kenya is doing this due to the terrorist attacks giving an extra level of scrutiny of who is coming into the country

its not meant to cut tourist numbers, maybe more of an attempt to protect those tourists who are visiting, of course there will be those conspiracy nuts who will claim all sorts of things

I doubt the sort of terrorists you suggest fly in on a tourist visa. More like drive across in several heavily armed vehicles as they did in the college massacre a few months ago.

    http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/apr/04/kenya-university-massacre-shabaab-divisions

The border with Somalia is where they should focus attention not making it harder for western tourists.

  11. Planting peas (a legume) could have soil quality benefits (??)

aussie farmers have been using peas as a green crop for years to improve the soil quality, turned back into the ground it increases nitrogen in the soil making it a lot healthier for the following crop. As thais refuse to use any method of soil improvement except sh*tloads of fertilizer this would make it a hell of a lot better and increase crop success but again, it requires them to do something new which they have a major problem with.

You seem to forget Thai's know it all and dont need adice from foreigners.

  12. Australia has managed to protect itself over the years from the unbridled immigration that Blair and Brown dumped on the UK.

I jumped through all the hoops a three decades ago and it took close on a year before I got the right to live and work in Australia.

The points system has worked well for them and as a result they do not have the social issues parts of the UK now face.

With regard to New Zealand there are strict controls placed on those who want to enter Australia with a criminal record.
