  1. Anyone succeeded in getting their Life Certificate returned to DWP in the UK? I sent mine via EMS at a cost of 880 THB. According to Track and Trace it seems to be sleeping at Suvarnabhumi.

Copy of email sent by my MP to DWP:-

My constituent, Hugh Morgan, has sent me copies of his correspondence.  I have, as he said, drawn this case to the attention of the Minister concerned.  It would be most helpful if the International Queries Department could take on board the information Mr Morgan has provided.  It is impossible to send such documents by post at present from Thailand  with any hope of them arriving.  I cannot understand why, in this day and age, he cannot be permitted to email his documents so that they can be transmitted more securely.   Please would you refer this request to the Director of your Unit and ask that email be used, especially at this very difficult time.  Little has returned to normal in this area from my experience since March.

This money thing often crops up in forums...

800k is a paltry amount of money to keep in an account to ensure one can remain in the country.  If people ares truggling to follow this, then surely they are not very well set for retirement.

Hi Crusader, it's not a case of struggling to place the 800k but it's a large chunk of dead money. Dead because it earns next to nothing and cannot be put to work earning a decent return. e.g. my investment portfolio has made a net profit of 20% so far this year to date. The 800k in the bank has not kept pace with inflation.

I think it is absolutely right and even more fair to charge tourists more especially for attractions funded by thai government since tourists does not pay thai income tax.

And does that also happen in your home country? In my home country it would be illegal.

What are the strorage requirements for beer?

Depends on the type of beer. Draught keg lines should have been cleared and filled with water. There are NO requirements to keep the keg chilled. Beer is chilled by a cooler very close to the dispenser.

Bottled beers should be stored using common sense but there is no requirement for chilling until the night before the bars open again.

There are probably no cask beers in Thailand but they have special requirements.

I wouldn't pay to send food there - it just perpetuates an unsustainable cycle - but I would pay for a vet to visit the temple and euthanize them. If there's anything to be learned from the current pandemic its that people and virus-ridden animals DON'T mix

Dont you mean animals and virus ridden people???????????????

As always when buying into markets, timing is everything. Buying-in when the market has tanked is a sound strategy. However, has the market bottomed out yet? I doubt it, but then again have no idea when it will so sorry to say - you’re on yer own mate! When you do invest I recommend Fundsmith. An investment fund with a common sense philosophy and a stellar performance record in the 10 years I’ve been a client.

  7. We also have loads of these around our village. They seem to be caterpillars rather than centipedes as they are totally non aggressive. You can't see the head too well in the pic but there is no stinger. Only about 2 cm long. Cannot find a picture of anything like them searching for centipedes online.
