Not only did he confess to this attack, he also admitted to doing this same thing on a number of other occasions. Nice police and judicial systems we have here. Hopefully she regains some memory and can identify him before he does this again or worse. Perhaps some locals may have a different view of justice.

I am just surprised that someone thinks this is 'news'. It is a daily occurrence in this nepotitistic, cronyistic land.
Unfortunately, 60% or more of this country cannot see that the HISO are 'extracting the michael' out of them, as they prostrate themselves before a military dictatorship.

Another bargain buy, young, relatively experienced and willing to learn. Willing to help push the bus, not just jump on for the ride.

So, what's new, what's changed? This will only be 'news' when the perpetrator is dismissed, charged and gaoled. Until then it is just normal 'government business'.

MrMr, please try to read the story before commenting. It was the daughter of the deceased who stated ' he was a nice guy', not the killer. Unbelievable, no not really!

Personally, knowing and understanding the RTP's desire to ensure that ALL crimes are investigated, managed and determined on an equal basis, I am not sure what the problem is. Surely the dedication, professionalism and desire to reach an unbiased, truthful and evidentiary compelling outcome in this matter mirrors that of HISO 16 year old (no licence) driver that killed 9 University people, and the HISO Mercedes driver that incinerated two University students. I won't mention the excellent and above reproach investigation in Koh Tao.
How can you possibly doubt the veracity of the RTP statements. You obviously don't understand forensic policing.

With Teachers such as these, there is no hope for the Country
At least she didn't start with 'love you long time'...

I wonder if you would be so indignant if your income was stopped. Ivory towers syndrome.
Many people rely on their daily, weekly, monthly income the lack of which has not only economic but social and psychological consequences, leading possibly to depression, anxiety, death.
Unfortunately the people making the decisions are, possibly like you, not affected by the ramifications of lack of finances.

First, thank you for your efforts. Interestingly my Thai wife and I attended the Korat Immigration office last week following my weekend away in Pattaya. We were told that my wife MUST submit a TM30 EVERY time I return home from an inter or intra province or international absence of more than 24 hours. Failure to do so WOULD result in a fine.
Not quite the same as you were told...!

But, they are all Mr Rudd's mates…what harm can that be…except that China will own (eventually), like it will in other countries, more of Oz than the Aussies! But what the heck it will soon be a Caliphate anyway…as long as social security payments don't end!

I am with Pimay 1 - crush the bikes…remember some of their HISO parents will still have to pay for them…love it..can't race without a bike!

Why do I doubt that his medical problems will prevent him going to Singapore to attend to some business…or Laos or Cambodia for a Buddhist conference…

Sorry UK Government, you have it ALL wrong…listen to us (TV subscribers) who know…forget the jailing - allow them to go, but then cancel their passports, entitlement to any government subsistence for them and any family members…but MOST importantly REFUSE them re-entry to the country…easy, no daily cost, no daily worries…

Don't fix the f-in problem…just ignore it by closing the street…<deleted>!

I'd like to see that…but sorry all I can see is 'Smoke & Mirrors'…words are worth nothing…it is deeds that count, and this country cannot spell never mind deliver, integrity, service and trust. Waste of breath…'Been there, done that, got the t-shirt and the shit is still the same…

The transfer of RTP officers to inactive posts allows those officers to, when (shortly thereafter) returned to active duty, maintain their ability to obtain illegal funds. Funds, which we all know are ultimately shared with the senior officers who initiate the 'inactive post' solution. Sacking them, which is what should happen, would unfortunately mean a loss of revenue for all concerned - hence the short-term inactive post solution!

I now await the moral outrage, the organized marches and hysterical biased rhetoric of the media, maybe throw in a few burnt cars and a bit of pillaging. Sadly, all I hear is the sound of silence.
RIP Fallen Colleague
Police Prayer
Lord, I ask for courage
Courage to face and conquer my own fears
Courage to take me where others will not go
I ask for strength
Strength of body to protect others
And strength of spirit to lead other
I as for dedication
Dedication to my job, to do it well
Dedication to my community, to keep it safe
Give me. Lord, concern for those who trust me
And compassion for those who need me
And please, Lord, through it all,

I don't understand why the water used in the water canon does not have a dye. One that remans on the body and clothing for weeks. Identification no problem. Either that or they stay off the streets.
