  1. I have also experienced this everywhere in Thailand. I don't hire people but I know many who do and even at the places I stay/live I see Thai staff always start out well and finish badly then move on. I think for them being polite and saving face is hard work that can only last so long. It's another reason Thai's are almost unemployable outside of Thailand.

  2. After touring around the north recently on my bike to places like Doi Mae Salong, Chiang Rai, Mae Sai, Golden Triangle etc it was pretty dead. Drinks, food, accommodation, everything was 30, 40, 50% higher than usual and the "skin tax" was levied on us almost everywhere we went. Eventually no one will come to a risky third World country where you get charged western prices for poor quality food, dodgy accommodation, the high risk of death on the roads or by violent crime, or where you’re treated as an idiot with a fat wallet. You need to have a long hard look at yourself Thailand, you are destroying yourself with ignorance/arrogance, greed and corruption while the rest of SE Asia is opening up and taking from you what you once had.

  3. "In an effort to protect tourists, renters and business owners, as well as to lower road accidents and fatalities" BS!

How about ensuring Thai people and in particular Thai public transport drivers have a licence, insurance, registration, road legal vehicle and comply with traffic laws in an effort to protect tourists, customers, as well as to lower road accidents and fatalities!

If you keep persecuting foriegners and let Thai's get away with murder you will soon realise that foriegners won't come here and most will leave!

  4. Welcome to Thailand, same crud different day, I've never seen so many selfish, unconscious, incompetent idiots on the road as here in Thailand. 90% of them can't drive, 90% speed, 50% are drunk, many are unlicensed, uninsured, unregistered and un-roadworthy and no one gives a flying doo doo! Don't expect to die of natural causes in Thailand you will most likely be murdered on the roads or by violent crime!

  5. How about stop harassing tourists with scams like fining them for having their lights on while riding during the day! The rental companies even turn the lights on when they rent the bike to the unsuspecting visitor so they get caught at the next road check point. However, 70% or more local bikes don't even have lights that work when it's dark but they don't fine them do they? Start treating tourists like guests instead of milking cows and you may improve tourism! I wouldn't recommend Sihanoukville to anyone, it's a mini Pattaya!

  6. here is the best and really the only method of treating a snake bite....then get the patient to a hospital. Never under any circumstances kill the snake....WHY? Because you will most likely be bitten again! Never under any circumstances apply a tourniquet.....WHY? Because most people will lose there limb because people don't know how to apply them! Never cut or suck the bite site....WHY? Because you risk causing more damage and faster venom absorption and if you suck you will be envenomated as well......derrrrrrr!

  7. After intense research and questioning a range of people I had a procedure done a few years ago at Chiang Mai RAM by a certified surgeon, who was also on a panel of specialist surgeons and was considered one of the top 5 in his area of expertise in Thailand and the procedure was a disaster that did not yield the results that I was guaranteed. Making sure of the qualifications, experience and expertise of medical professionals here in Thailand is not going to guarantee anything. And even if they do offer to rectify the problem/poor outcome, why would you let the same goose have another go at messing it up.
