  1. Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister Purachai Piumsombun also announced his retirement from the Thai politics, saying that he would like to live with his family in New Zealand and become a lecturer there.

    THAI RAK THAI

    5 5 5 5 5 5 5 5

Made his money and runs before the corruption police get on his tail.

  2. 39 yo neither fat , bald or ugly . I have been with my Thai wife for 5 years and honestly wish I had done it 15 years earlier and missed out all that crap in the middle. I am not saying in any way that all western women are moaning, lazy whingers but sadly a large percentage are.

Nowadays many, many more Western males are marrying Asian women and believe me these men are no longer the "fat , bald and ugly" brigade that the 'moral left' likes to go on about.

I have many friends in the LoS that have had successful AND loving marraiges to Thai women in excess of 15 years.

  3. I don't know how you can categorise any bar as the BEST bar in Pattaya as there are so many different styles:-

Beer Bars, Go-Go's, Music bar's, Thai Bar's, Open Air Bar's, A/C bars, gay bar's, Bar / Diners, Irish Bar's, Sports Bar's, Short Time Bar's, etc, etc.

    :D  :o  :D  :D  :D  :D  :D

Ok. I'll rephrase it. Whats the best bar for music and good clientel? Reasonably priced booze. NO Go go bars! If that helps? Also im 31 not some old geezer. Still think the Blues bar is the one. But where to go before? When does the blues bar close?

As people have said before, music in the early evening does not really happen. You will probably be happy sticking to the beer bars on walking street, Soi 7 & 8, Soi 2 , etc. but wherever you go your wife will always be aware of what is going on around her but its not in your face like a go-go bar.

  4. Whatever happened to the reporters from the 'Far East Economic Review' who where getting deported because he didn't like what they wrote.

And I heard that his 'buddy' is trying to take over "The Nation" newspaper to stop the negative editorials.

All he needs next it the red and white armband and the discovery that Thais are descended from the Aryan race........

  6. What the Chinese have done to Tibet is incomprehensible. The destruction of a nation, its people and its religion. The devastation of its natural resources and the MURDER of anyone who stands in their way.

Anything Richard Gere or the Dalia Lama can do to get the message out to the world is commendable. But sadly there is no oil in Tibet, so apart from meaningless words of disapproval from the West it shall continue.

  7. Seems I have read before that areas of Bangkok were bombed by the Japanese.  Perhaps that was the resistance movement discussed above.

My wife's older siblings tell stories of live during WWII in Bangkok. At the time they lived in the King Pet (sp?) area and a Japanese garrison was close by. They recall the commanding officer (Major I think) liked to visit their family to be around the children as he missed his own family.  Got them extra rice rations I was told.

Basically peaceful during that time under whatever government arrangements that existed.

The Thai Movie 'Jan Dara' has scenes with the Japanese Bombing Bangkok.

  8. Whatever happened to the guy who used to run it ?

I think his name was Dennis Lewis , a huge American Black Guy. Last time I saw him the DEA were taking him away in handcuffs. I heard that he had been caught dealing.

    Anyone know ?

  9. Rumor has it.. A special team/person is on his merry way to pay Thailand's finest a special visit.  From one of the trout farmer from the other side of the pond;  and raises his glass to a certain lady across the pond.  Is he one of them ?

Given the circumstances.. it is a done deal.. Justice served  Three cheers to the Planning and Applications, Dreams of Trout  Skinned, gutted..Days are number ..

By the way the C.. brothers on on schedule as well.. And justice will find its wrath..

      :o

Ehhrm........... sorry but could you translate this into English ? :D:D

  10. No,the interview was made here in Thailand somewhere not specified.

The reporter adviced the guy to turn him in to the police or go to the embassy for help.

He said "No,I don't wanna be shot or just simply disappear, don't trust thai police".

He's gonna keep on hiding in Thailand for now.

No one has heard from him.........maybe the Thai Police found him already and they took him for a swim in the Klongs.

Regardless of the circumstances, whether it was accidental or pre-meditated, I am glad I am not in his shoes.

  11. I have been to TR 3 times and it is always only "ok", nothing special, not spicy at all and sometimes even bland.

Everyone is always at the salt, pepper and Tabasco, that to me says alot.

    But the margeritas are good.

  12. Last time I was in town, twice in one afternoon, I was asked what bar my wife worked in and what day was I leaving. I took great delight in telling them my wife doesn't work in a bar and that WE were leaving next week together and <deleted> Off .

There are some real low life scum living in Pattaya that I wouldn't trust with their own Grannies.

IMHO If you are intending holidaying in Pattaya again, I would delete the pic.

** and she is gorgeous by the way.
