Karma can be a bitch and I am sure we will happily hear the thump when it comes kicking up the arse's of some of the nasty and insensitive <deleted>'s that are posting on here.

Smedly,
You have to remember that alot of 'farang' in Thailand have come here because they are not accepted in their own countries. They come here and find TV a great place to spout the same old crap that pissed off all the locals back home. Soon enough the Thai's will get pissed off with them too and they will be on their travels again.

Algae farms, Crocodile farms ......... do a google or youtube search

They probably never noticed the smoldering meth lab next door ..........

None of the local newspapers would dare take on that kind of Mafia.
Write a letter to the Mayor ??

Iran - Ireland, easy mistake in translating from Thai, but that is not the story.
300M baht ........... I am sure some very influential 'locals' will not be happy about this.
These guys could not have set this up without some local help.

FYI.
Many thais who work in industry at Map Ta Phut, Laem Chabang, etc have regular and mandatory first aid and CPR training.
Not everyone in Thailand works in a bar.

Apologies if this is a repeated topic but my internet is terrible today and I have been searching through old posts for more than 3 hours now.
I want to buy a condo.
Problem is it is in a Thai name and I want to buy in Farang name. The owners agent has told me that this is not a problem, I set up a Thai Company and buy it that way.
I thought that this was actually illegal to do (although many people still do so), can anyone point me in the direction of the truth ?
If it is legal, what are the pitfalls of this method of purchase.
I would appreciate any help, and again apologise if I am retreading an old path.

Haw Par Villa aka Tiger Balm gardens is still there, its worth a walk around and there is a new MRT station right beside it.
-
Robertson Quay, just up the river from Clarke Quay is also a good spot, lots of bars and restaurants.
-
Is this legal ?

There is a good Thai restaurant in ChinaTown, half way down the main drag (Pagoda Street) good food and cheap beer ..... well for Singapore anyway !
Pulua Ubin, an island off the Changi (East) coast is a great place to get away from the city. Take a bum boat over, there are good hawker type restaurants and good walks or cycle paths through the jungle. You can rent bikes on the island.

36-0 John....
Aye, but what folks forget is that Bon Accord FC were actually Orion Cricket Club.
Aberdeen F.C. was formed following the merger of three city clubs, Aberdeen, Victoria United and Orion Football Club, in 1903. (Wiki)
Therefore the actual history is that Arbroath beat an Aberdeen cricket club 36-0, not Aberdeen Football Club.

Too many foreign players and no long term strategy in place. Hibs had a cracking youth program going 10-15 years ago but saw their upcoming stars poached by the Glasgow clubs continually.
Its a sad state of affairs all right.
, Saw this today

wonder whether this will improve the club long term
My Connection was poor so couldn't listen to either interviews.
I feel sorry for Willie Miller, but I have heard alot of "<deleted> does he do anyway" recently from folks back home.
Stuart Milne, the Chairman and swinger of the Miller axe, in my opinion, is the one who needs to GTF out of the club.
He's one of the richest men in Scotland but hardly even throws his spare change into Aberdeen.

>>"The cost of building a new F1 venue to accommodate 100,000 spectators will be about Bt100 million. We need to finalise the budget before we propose it to the cabinet. We expect the overall budget for hosting an F1 race to be around Bt5 billion," said Kanokphand.
That seems awful cheap to build a world class F1 circuit at only 3.5 million USD. What's the other 190 million USD going to be spent on? Someone better recheck those figures!
That is probably only the Tea Money, better to get these things clear from the start .....

Not wanting an argument.....but.....
I remember reading an article a few years ago that said that the profession in Thailand with the highest incidence of Aids / HIV was actually long distance lorry drivers who haul Thai goods across all the neighboring countries in SE Asia.

Hi,
We are currently living in Malaysia, my wife wants to bring her mother and her nephew (1 1/2 yo) to visit, does anyone know if this would be a problem. They both have passport but my concern is a young child (in this day and age) traveling without his parents.
If anyone has any info about this type of situation I would appreciate it.
Thanks
John

I am sure its a translation thing, no-one is that stupid surely.
But everywhere I go in these days I see people chopping down trees and making charcoal, whole areas have been cleared near where we live. The fact that most of these areas are on hillsides really does worry me.
