Thanks for the confirmation ubonjoe.

I will shortly be applying for a retirement extension at Chiang Mai based on a monthly income of more than B65,000 from abroad.
My bank book has been updated monthly as opposed to last year when a couple of months were missed. This resulted in me having to obtain a printout of all transactions for a year and a covering letter from my bank.
My question is, seeing as my book is up to date, will I require a printout and letter this year?
Thanks very much.

Thanks ubonjoe, I thought as much but wasn't sure.

My seventh retirement extension is due in June 2018 at Chiang Mai.
We normally travel a fair bit however not so much lately due to ill health. My last entry was November 2016 from Narita.
My question is; am I required to exit and re-enter the country before next June?

Here in Chiangdao the whole house was shaking much more than the Tachilek quake of 2011. Nothing damaged and nobody hurt.

Looks like this truck driver is ready to progress to double-decker buses.

The Thai Visa forum is very helpful in so many different ways.

Did you try this Expat Blood Group on Facebook yet ? It doesn't look like you have. Perhaps you can still get local blood. Good luck to your friend !

This is very helpful information and thanks for giving me a new lead on this.
There may be sufficient at Lanna already and it will be analysed for suitability this afternoon.
Many thanks,

tomdfc, I very much appreciate your efforts and regret your loss of time today. In spite of an incredible response from Facebook and here on Thai Visa it looks like there will be a shortfall. However it appears that some O Neg can be purchased from Samitivej Hospital in Bangkok to make up for this.
Tywais, many thanks for your valued input as always.
Regards,

Thighlander I'm afraid it has to be O Neg. O Pos is not compatible.
Many thanks for your offer.

tomdfc I have juat checked here at Lanna and they recommend you go to donate at the Red Cross centre behind Yupparaj School and also provide the full name: Leslie James Holmes at Lanna Hospital. Red Cross will forward the blood to Lanna Hospital.
Many thanks to you and your wife for your assistance as even half a unit can make the difference.

Many thanks Dodobird!

An Englishman, Mr Leslie Holmes, is currently in Lanna Hosipital Chiang Mai and in need of kidney surgery however there may be a delay due to a lack of O Neg blood.
If anyone is able to assist by donating O Neg blood it would be much appreciated.

Kim Jong-Un just wants to sit at a negotiating table and be seen as an equal to Mr Obama. Strange way to go about it but he has little to negotiate with except his military might (not).
Mr Kim reminds me of a James Bond baddie. Surrounded by "Yes men" I expect nobody has ever questioned a word he has said since he was selected to succeed his father.
Just take Mr Kim to Disneyland and stick him on a ride and he will forget all about it.

This morning the head villager told everyone that the period of 100 days, during which no burning was to be undertaken, would finish in another 10 days. So in another 10 days it will be ok to burn without any interference from the authorities
It is very hazy here in Chiangdao and with strong winds last evening I was hoping for a spot of rain. No such luck. I estimate the visibilty to be approximately 1,000 metres.

Such a sad way for the two old boys to go. My condolences to their families.
I hate speed bumps but perhaps they would have helped calm the traffic in this area.
As for the driver - well, the moderators would delete my post.

There were originally 9 bags in the van and there are 3 bags missing. The van had a crew of 3 men and ................wait a minute.......... I might be onto something

Retirement Extension Bank Requirements.
in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits

As the OP I'm just wrapping up this thread. I obtained a one year print of my Thai bank account plus covering letter and attended Chiang Mai immigration. The IO didn't look at the print other than to check it was there. He looked closely at my bank book copies examining them about three times and then suddenly checking the start date as if to catch me out. Sad really.
Then the IO did something I had never seen before as this was my ninth extension. He picked up his phone and opened up Street View and asked my where I lived. When we located my house he marked it. Whether this is synced with the Imm computer system or not I have no idea.
As I left I saw the stealth BMW parked under an awning. I assume it is fitted with some kind of Stinger system to catch the unwary.
