  1. Congrats, but what is wrong with the others:

CANNONDALE at Sukhumvit 26, but rather at the Rama 4 end?

    TREK at Sarasin Rd?

SPECIALIZED at soi Sala Daeng 1 at the Rama 4 end?

..and then there is the farang owned in this AMARIN Plaza, 2nd floor too.

    Just wondering!

Btw, yday I spotted another CANNONDALE shop at Srinakarin Rd between Udom Suk and On Nut on Sukhumvit side, might worth a try...

Thank you for these listings. As a newbie, are any of these near the BTS? To get to Bike39 on On Nut 39, you get off at BTS On Nut and can take your bike on the songthaew, if un rideable.

Yes, the one in the AMARIN Plaza is connected to BTS Chitlom...

Thank you. Will check it out. On their website, there's a price list and I'm calculating the rates were lower in the smaller shop but being next to a BTS station is a huge advantage.

  3. Bike 39 on On Nut 39 (look for Kasikorn bank on left side coming from Sukhumvit). Easy to get to and they do great service while you wait.

I post this because I had had asked the forum prior to moving to Bkk. Found this with the help of some Thais along the On Nut stretch.

  4. Indeed, this isn't exactly anything new. It's been around for a while. It's just the latest reincarnation of the same thing. Except, you can use it at McDonalds now. It's a shame that they have not been able to connect it with the MRT yet. That's the big one. I drive anyway, so the rabbit card is just a space filler in my wallet. I loathe both the BTS and MRT.

I know it's not new but I sometimes post questions/comments for newbie readers in mind. I am a newbie myself. Give and take from the forum.

  5. The restaurants all appear the same. Any personal recommendations? Do some specialize in one type of dish over another? I think I'll follow the masses but good to hear of any recommendations. I had fried morning glory but there was a decent queue for this "famous" pad Thai. Thank you.

  6. http://www.rabbitcard.com/en

Just to let you know how convenient these cards are. Pull up to any window at the BTS office and request your card. 100 baht deposit for the card (you get 50 baht back) and add any amount you want in 100 baht increments. Full refund on unused amount. Scan your rabbit card instead of buying a single trip card each time.

  7. Happened at 16:45 today outside Major Ekkamai. Same officer that stopped me last week at corner of Sukhumvit 45. He was polite and going about his job but this time he spent time examining and asking about my debit card. Unfortunately I was carrying a wad of cash for my monthly rent. It's obvious the police are looking for something specific like drugs and would not be going to these extremes if there wasn't something in it for them. I don't mean that with any negative connotations. I cannot encourage you enough to carry a copy of your passport with the current visa.

  8. I stayed at Imm Fusion recently. Good location (right by On Nut bts) and loved the decor of the "Moroccan style" courtyard and reception area. Rooms were ok, nothing to write home about. Cost not too bad around 1000baht for a standard room.

I think there may be some cheaper places down soi 81 that you can pay per day.

I contacted them and was informed they had a joiner fee (aka guest fee) unless you book a double.

    Thank you for the reply.

  9. there is the wat pho school at Suk 39, down the soi from cheap eats (which was disappointing). That nantra hotel was cool. Great neck/back massage.

I went to the wat pho school today. Full of Asian tourists packed into a room. 180 baht/hour. AVOID.
