  1. From wikipedia: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Howard_X
  2. By the way, to make the story even more interesting, I believe this is the Kim Jong Un impersonator, Howard (X) Lee.
  3. Update: if you have done your TM.30 and can produce the bottom piece (receipt), then Chamchuri Square will issue the Certificate of Residence for 500 baht per letter. It took around 1 hour to issue once documents were in order. I got mine last week.
  4. Looks like if you have the LTR, it can be done at Chamchuri Square One-Stop Centre. https://ltr.boi.go.th/page/driving-license.html
  5. Update: Latest transfer finally arrived in the UK. It took 22 days. There were 2 public holidays in Thailand and 1 banking holiday in the UK, plus weekends, so I guess that means it took 13 business days to arrive. Still 1 more pending. Well, it is a way to move money from TH to the UK, but be prepared for it to take this long, at least for TH - UK transfers.
  6. Similar issues for THB - GBP transfers in June and July. The first transfer (only 10,000 baht) took just 3 days. Larger transfers (around 500,000 baht) took 3 weeks and semi-regular follow-up. Still have two large transfers pending, with one being initiated around 10 days ago and the other around 7 days ago. I get the same response from customer support - technical and operational issues.
  7. As another posted said, look for a law firm to do a check before flying out.
  8. Well, after many, many years of no serious issues (discounting 24-hour stomach issues), I fell victim to this in Phuket whilst there 01-04 June. 6 days of straight diarrhea followed. Miserable. I ate the same food as two others, but had a mango shake and an iced milk tea, which others did not have. Lesson learned.
  9. I just did a transfer of an extension of stay, which took 3+ hours. As others have posted, it may be done by different officers so you may need more than 1 queue ticket. I would do it earlier in order to not be stressed about trying to get both done in 1 day. However there is nothing wrong with waiting as long as you have all documents and copies prepared.
  10. Well done. Congrats on that as well. I applied from within Thailand. BOI staff were very professional throughout. I was the very 1st to receive this particular sub-category of LTR. The requirements on the website are accurate so take a look and see if you can meet these.
  11. I did this and was successful. If you meet the requirements it is possible.
