Maybe you should check with the U.S. about that:

    From today's NY Times:

And that's after widely abandoning their prior (and broadly inconsistent and patchwork) social distancing policies.

Among the other headlines today from the NY Times:

And this from the major hospital network in Arizona state in the U.S.:

Thailand MAY remain OK as long as it basically keeps its borders closed except for people willing to undergo mandatory 14-day quarantines... But the CV is hardly done or waning in the world at large....

And if Thailand were to re-open its borders without requiring the mandatory quarantines, we'd likely be joining the woes in the rest of the world right now.

with the demo's that happened in Oz yesterday, in the next 14 days we will see if demonstrating gives immunity from covidvirus or not.
if there is a spike in cases as has happened previously when groups pf people got together then i guess Oz won't be in that bubble.
the Chinese will be the first allowed back in.

    Scare-mongerers of the world unite...

    You are talking utter s****,

If you believe the “second wave”

You’ll stay scared until the grave.

Thailand has already a list with countries of low risk.

China with Hong Kong and Macau
    South Korea

    maybe they will add

    Taiwan
    Australia
    New Zealand
    Vietnam

Europe and USA for sure not, they are still high risk areas and this probably will not change until we have a vaccine

Not sure if you’re aware, Europe is not a country. ???? Anyway, a vaccine ain’t needed for this b/s pandemic.

Whats the difference between staying in hospitals and hotels if showing no signs of symptoms of returning from abroad and staying locked up in my own home for free in Thailand under quarantine - I am not keen on funding the ailing hotel industry - got enough bills of my own to pay?

Precisely my good man. The answer is.....nasty farang must pay for the privilege of returning to paradise.

Never mind the fact you’ve been working here for the last x number of years and could reasonably self quarantine at home.

Man, the world has seriously changed hasn't it, and this is in a country now reporting single digit or zero daily cases, that's cases not deaths.

This is all just freaking me out now and finding it really hard to see any positives anywhere. It's also clear that gov's are now using this situation to gain more control over people. Awful, awful times.

    Dude, welcome to the “panicdemic”..

Everyone who pays for his/her 14 day quarantine should be allowed to enter.

Tell me any counter-argument (which is non-racist and non-"grumpy old man who loves lockdowns").

Right. And without the need for fit-to-fly <deleted> or “covid” insurance. If I can get to the airport I’m fit to fly, and “covid” insurance doesn’t exist!

There is literally nowhere to walk to apart from the mama papa store 1-minute away

Everywhere else requires transport which I don’t have until 7pm each evening

I can’t even go to a restaurant or buy food to cook (unless its eggs and mama noodles from the local shop)

My partner has just managed to take tomorrow off work and take me to a specialist in the city tomorrow morning, so I’ll see what they say then..

Have you thought about buying a bicycle?
