I have spoken to two middle managers at Thailand Privilege over the last 3 months, and both confirmed that they are trying to get this tax exemption for us. One said the they hoped to have something for us by year’s end. But whether they succeed or not is anyone’s guess at this point.

There is a TE office in the basement of Chang Wattana. About a month ago I spoke with a rep there and complained about the income tax and why does LTR get tax benefits and we don’t and we pay much more. He said the company is aware that this is a big problem and are trying to do something to help us. Anything they do will have to be approved by Parliament. He said that he hopes that TE will have something for us by year end. He may have been BS ing me but I just wanted to post this fwiw.

I bought some last week at Southeast Pharmacy on the corner of Sukhumvit 15. Not sure if other pharmacies have it yet but Southeast had a lot of boxes on the shelf.

Wow, Big Joke says the “outdated” immigration act of 1979 is going to be amended. This is huge news. Big Joke is very influential and in the know. Look for changes to the retirement extension scheme coming in 2024 would be a good bet. Anyone on retirement extension that wants more security and peace of mind should scramble now and get an application in for the Thailand Elite 20 year visa for 1 million baht before it is too late.
