my god was that good. ate half wish button mushrooms and baked potatoes. yuabi (sp) steak Australian grain fed. gosh it really was superb. in the dates I had a small farm (80) acres and raised organic beef Hereford and this was as good. took your advice pan cooked rare center. rim ping promenadaA hot pan is one good way to cook a steak. For good quality meat just season with salt and pepper is all that should be necessary. Getting the correct temperature (doneness) can be the tricky part but things continue to cook once off the heat source so better to take off a bit early and let rest so the juices can settle down and not run out before cutting. One can also cook more or add seasoning (but not the opposite).
What kind of steak is it and where did you buy it?
Interesting reading your post....... sounds great for the beef, but care to tell us what and how much there was to drink ???
..... also tell us if you would, what was the weight of this 2000 B steak ???

Excellent glad it worked out and you, good quality product cooked simply is never a bad way to go, as I like to say when People ask me how I cook, "Take what God gives us and try not to f*** it up!"
after living in France for so many years I had two (2) pastis. Caught great buzz. Life is good

I respect his knowledge.
WHAT DO I DO WITH IT.
Not to screw it up. Can I cook it in a pan?

we ponder that question dailyNot attempting to challenge you in any way, can you please share some details of why the manager (now removed) believed she had some
right to run it all her way. Just interested, maybe something to learn from this.

I have 5 condominiums on the 15th floor of an older condominium near the kad suan kaew shopping mall. About a year and a half ago at an owners meeting a Juristic person manager was elected along with a mix of Thai and foreign owners.
The first month the juristic manager filed a police report charging committee with trespassing in the office (of the committee) on the ground floor of the building. They were brought to the police station and after a 50,000 baht bail, were able to return home.
For one year the building was hijacked , there was no transparency, no bills were sent out for condominium fees, CCTV equipment went missing and more, much more.
A few months ago this manager called an emergency owners meeting to get rid of the committee (which continued to be a thorn in her side). The committee in turn called another emergency meeting ONE hour before her meeting. The result was that with reason, intellect and documentation the manager was voted out.
After almost 20 years of neglect, indifference and apathy, The building is being resurrected by the new committee and newly appointed temporary manager, the management company, and the legal team . The results of our emergency meeting were brought to the land office and scrutinised under microscopes for any discrepancy (which there was none of). They accepted the results and the hard work started.
The water systems were in disrepair as was the entire electrical system. Money to run the building was low, bank accounts were frozen and morale was low. it was like running up a down escalator.
Threats, hired thugs, law suits and personal attacks came at this new committee and manager and then things changed.
WE hired an outside condominium management company. The office looks professional and is staffed with young bright secretaries and accounting people. The mood changed. Most of the 15 police reports filed by the former manager have been dismissed.
We now have a superb legal team about to launch both criminal and civil law suits against former persons. Our legal team have identified over 6 million Baht of unpaid condominium fees owed by various owners some of which own commercials space, have collected rents for years and years and are 100's of thousands Baht in arrears. Letters are being drawn up to send to the owners who have NOT paid while the building fell apart.
Our legal team now guides us step by step to make sure that we are on legal grounds on all of our endeavours
Things can change with incredibly hard work and persistence and the desire to just do the right thing.

well your keeping your theme of the sick and disturbed Ann knifed CIA agent stabbed good work dexterI have a feeling a certain alphabet agency will be getting payback soon.
farang got stabbed, axe wielding maniac, Brit falls through roof, farang dies of overdose. you seem to thrive on the macabre
Nice to know I have an internet thread stalker. BTW, yes, I do thrive on the macabre. I am a horror writer and a Muay Thai coach, so violence, gore, and dystopian worlds are my mindscape. To each their own right?

lonely planet must follow you around and voila where you land becomes the next chicIt looks to me like all the signs point toward Chiang Mai getting ready to truly take off.
It always seems this way, that I find a nice place, then 5 years down the line, the place is ruined by rampant development.
A sleepy little town in Florida became nationally known, and then ruined.
Then, it felt just like Chiang Mai feels to me now.
Also, I really feel that what happens here will ultimately depend on what happens in China.

For the best value Fish & Chips dinner, Gecko Garden's 109 Baht special any day before 4pm takes some beating and they only charge 20 baht for a coke. The F&C comes with side salad, pickle, there's malt vinegar and other sauces. They normally give two fair sized pieces of nice white fish and usually quite full. I'm not going to say it's the best F&C in the world, but it's the hardest to beat for value especially taking into account the price of a coke etc too. A very good meal for 129 Baht TOTAL.
i never thought that I would agree with uptheos but I do agree this time

reflux. manly kind of a disease. does Rambo get reflux? iron man gets reflux? duhWe tried it last week. Just as I suspected, it is "Italian style" food aiming at the Thai market. I went with an open mind, but was disappointed and can't say I would go back. The pizza, as has been said before, has crust like a cracker. It is way too thin and crisp and falls apart when you pick up a slice. It also lacks any flavor. I don't think they use salt in the dough even. We ordered a salad. It came with Thai sweet mayonnaise sauce. I removed as much as I could and asked for olive oil or anything else but they didn't have it. My 4 year old ordered spaghetti carbonera and liked it. It looked to me like there was no sauce on it and it was dry. The g/f ordered an appetizer of chicken wrapped in bacon with white sauce. The chicken was a little cold in the center so it was frozen, the bacon was all fat. The sauce was flavorless.
I don't see the value others have mentioned either. The above mentioned items plus one beer and one water was 560 Baht. We could go to the Dukes and order one of their huge garlic chicken pizzas for 230? Baht that would feed 3, and a salad @ 100-200 Baht, plus another item and perhaps come in even a little less than the price at Success. Or you could go to one of the authentic, well-known Italian restaurants around town with the discount vouchers that you buy on-line and have a real Italian meal for less.
I don't understand all the fuss.
I find your post kind of odd. My Schnitzel came with a garnish salad that had olive oil drizzled on it. No sweet mayonaisse in sight.
I guess the fuss is, for the price of a sandwich, burger, ribs...etc at Dukes, you can get 2 entrees at Success. Dukes has them on pizza though, but I do think that is the only thing that is a better value, but Dukes breads and pizza always give me reflux.
For now Success has been good to me and I will be going back.

when you say "the wife" did you mean to say "my wife" it's like saying the dog giver more respect than you did the snakeToday while sitting in the living room with the wife I watched a snake slither along our double doors and under our screen door into the house . Not sure what kind it was but it was about 3 feet long brown and seemed to have a blue stripe running the lenght of his body . As far as Im concerned they are all deadly .
We got him outside with some long poles and closed the doors . I will be on my way to Big C and get a few bags of moth balls . I have been told this works and I shared it with another friend here and he has not seen a snake since . Prior to that he had one sunning on his front steps a few days in a row .....
Anythings worth a try ..

I'm sure it's the endless build up of grease on your ceiling from years of cooking schnitzel in fat that's causing the critters to loose there footing. I'll bet the floor has no less grease build up causing them to stay in place while their legs are going a 100 miles an hour.

what a meaningless ridiculous posting. I lived in the south for if France for decades and living in Boston as well are Maine lobster often. your analogy is lost on meOtherwise we would all be living in a mansion in the South of France, eating Maine lobster and beluga caviar and drinking champagne every day.

sad how you dilute your life based on economics
I very rarely went to Duke's, I will go to Success Pizza more than I go to Duke's. Money is a factor in deciding what I eat, yes.
you mentioned the word "price" two times in you short posting. so you will sacrifice something that you like better (dukes) for cheaper but not as good new placeI went lasy week, had a pizza, was good enough to go back again for the price. Much prefer Duke's pizza but will go here a lot more often on price.
just the realities of life sometimes, not however the realities of a well thought out rewarding life where everything becomes quantitative rather than qualitative
