  1. the lease requirement may be a stumbling block for me. My intention is to stay in cheapish hotels on monthly rates when I'm in Thailand. I doubt they will provide a lease that immigration may need.
  2. good point - so, just staying in hotels won't cut it ?
  3. Once my non-O retirement visa and multiple entry permit is established, how many months a year can I spend outside Thailand and still maintain the visa or extension as the case may be ? The reason for the question is that I want to spend about half the year in Thailand, but the other half in neighbouring Asian countries travelling. The sIx months or so in Thailand would not necessarily be in one block. My thinking is that if I try to do this with tourist visas I have an annual time in country limit to adhere to. I am happy to comply with all aspects of the retirement visa including the 800k in a Thai bank.
  4. Why does a Thai family need to have a gun in the house ? This is one area where following the lead from the USA is definitely not a good idea !
  5. or in this case minding your own business, but having the audacity to not wear a mask while sitting alone on the beach. We should all respect Thai peoples feelings about the virus and wear a mask, however, to be physically assaulted as a first response, rather than saying 'put on your mask' rather reverses who was being an <deleted>. There is a wider issue here as well, about how easily Thai men in groups think nothing of attacking foreigners.
  6. Variants will continue to crop up at inconvenient and unexpected intervals, this what we must learn to live with - and the associated restrictions will ease up and then tighten up again - ‘Living With Covid’
  7. Barcelona is a nice place, but the residents not so sharp
  8. I am very interested to know the full story. So, it was a bank employee offering a product that was not actually offered or endorsed by the bank, but he did this 'business' on bank premises. I would suggest the bank's liability would commence the moment they knew about the employee doing this and what action they then took. Prior to that, how can the bank be liable for an employee committing something fraudulent that they have no knowledge of and never endorsed ?
