  1. So you think a new passport will solve all the problems.

It used to do the trick years ago, now even in Thailand, country

in development, they using the same thing as you: a Computer.

Your new passport could be linked with your old one, like the Netherlands

Government does to make it easy for Immigration Officers worldwide.

But when Immigration use the scan your name, birthday and

nationality will give a match with an old passport and all your entries in Thailand.

    Thanx again for the replies.

Still no hard evidence for cases where farangs have been processed for building or taking care of their own property. Despite the "obvious" wording of the law.

So I'll assume all is fine - but will take the fine advice to talk to the local immigration officer just to make sure and sleep well.

Why you want to talk to the local Immigration Office unless you need advice about your Visa or extension of stay.

Try the ministry of Labor, that is the only office who know all the rules about Work Permits.

  3. It all depends on the officers and their instructions.

I have seen and heard a warning to an employer: We know he works without work permit, next time we will make an arrest. Don't employ him anymore.

Other times: People went straight to jail, went to court, paid the fines and went back to their Thai homes.

Or people went straight to jail, went to court, paid the fines, got arrested again by Immigration for working on tourist visa, back into jail and deported.

And a fine is offered at the crime scene, when paid directly to the officer all is good.

  5. Quote

In response, temple communication chief Phra Sanitwong Chareonrattawong told a press conference the move was an “over-reaction” from the authorities. He said it would affect not only monks and disciples but also residents in the surrounding areas.

He said all people should be allowed equal rights and liberties.

He said the action was an out-of-line measure that reflected authorities’ fear of the truth and its desire to muzzle the temple.

“The government should be open-minded to let people hear information from both sides and made a decision for themselves,” he said.

The temple that blocked certain press because they showed the wrong pictures,

is now making a statement to be open-minded to let people hear information from both sides and made a decision for themselves.

All we monks do is okay because we want to protect .................  ( not sure if I can write that all down without getting problems).

  6. a National Park has only 10 % of the fees, the rest 90 % goes to Bangkok.

Koh Mu Phi Phi National Park wants to upgrade the waste water plant in Koh Phi Phi, estimated costs 300 million Thb.

with 50 million a year and is I see your costs calculation of 20 million a year it will take another 10 years saving.

At the moment 85 % of Phi Phi waste water goes non treated back into the Andaman Sea.

  7. The entrance fee went up from less than 100 million to more than 500 million.

Still people claim he put money in his pockets.

He did a lot for safety including a first aid post on the islands including materials and trained staff.

There is a Speedboat Ambulance for emergency service.

Separate area's for swimmers and boats, clean up daily at all islands,

Weekly big clean ups at the mean beaches.

Extra trash bins and garbage collection point,

Better and cleaner toilets for tourists,

But the stress got to him, the local boat man demand less fees so they can keep on going to destroy the area.

They and lots of other commenters on posts about the National Park Fees do not care about safety and clean parks.

    SAD.

  8. I thank the Chief of National Park for NOT changing his prices.

Tourisme in Krabi changed in the last years, I'm living here for 13 years so I have a little experience.

The fees for National Park did not change in the last years.

Krabi was visited by lots of back packers, who wanted to go around cheap cheap.

Now we have lots of families who like to be transported with a little more comfort,

Speedboats are fully booked on the same tour and the longtail boats lost 60 % of their customers.

Not because the entrance fee, but because a noisy non stable boat and wooden banches, with a 2 step ladder and customers walking

from the boat in  1 meter water towards and from the beach. Elderly people are pushed and pulled on the longtailboats.

    Speedboats use the harbor.

It is funny to see how they treat the customers as cattle.

Next to that the amount of longtail boats went from 200 till 700 in just 2 years but the volume of customers did not increased that much.

Not blame Us, longtail boat drivers, we made money long time ago and customers come every day, blame every body else.

Total Ao Nang area has NO clue about tourisme and many shop owners, including Foreign shop owners, keep on telling:

It does not matter how I treat a customers, Krabi is nice and people will come.

Some customers, as read in the OP 60% start seeing the difference in tours and change their plans.

Time to change your service towards customers to keep them coming into your shop, boat, restaurant etc.

You are missing the point. Why should there be any limit to how long a tourist wants to stay. Why 60 days. They used to have triple tourist visas 60 + 60 + 60 with 3 x 30 day extensions. Total 270 days. You can be a genuine tourist for however long you like. Its only now they are trying to eliminate that. If an individual likes to travel that's his or her free choice. They are just making it harder to do so in Thailand.

There is the new Multiple Entry Tourist Visa for 6 months which if correctly used also give you 270 days.

  10. The price of 400 Thb for entrence of the National Park Islands like Koh Poda, Chicken Island and Koh Phi Phi is there for many years.

Tourists not stay away because the price of National Park, the biggest problem is the Longtail Boat drivers.

Tourisme is less and changed to customers who prefer more quality.

But we need more and more longtailboats, 3 years ago there were 250 longtail boat for taxi around the beaches and

islands. Last year we had 700 boats and this year nearly 1000 boats.

The boat drivers pay a lot money to the "Longtail boat company" for a license and number to operate and he knows from an old friend

you will make shits loads of money transferring tourists. If you know somebody tell him this is the way to make money, buy a longtail boat,

pay for the number and sail around the beaches and fill your pockets.

In real life: buy a boat, pay your fees and wait in line with the other 1000 boats to hopefully have 1 trip a day.

Complain about National Park Fee, the price of gasoline etc and increase the rent price because you make no money.

Price 1 day private long tail boat tour to islands was 2 years ago 1600 Thb now 3500 Thb, not include National Park Fees.

Taxi ride to first island to stay on beach: 800 Thb a person an boat only goes with 8 people.

To compare: Speedboat tour to visit 4 Islands 2 years ago 800 Thb now 1000 Thb, not include National Park Fees.

    Speedboats are fully booked

  11. Krabi Ministry of Labor is very open for information. Just pay them a visit and explain your situation and the will tell you the exact route.

I just did the same with a friend, but his lawyer (from Phuket) had other thoughts because in Phuket it seems to work different.

Apply for the work permit before you are the owner of the company (at least on the papers), apply with tourist visa or visa exempt entry.

Take the company papers, work permit application, company tax papers, invitation letter from company with statement that you are allowed to apply for visa,

to Penang and you will get a 3 months Single Entry Non B. After return copy passports and visa pages to collect your work permit. If you have any questions

    you can contact me.

  12. Question is being asked but still no answer.

You went to Police, they made a call and settled it and you agreed.

Than you go back at take a lock from a neighbour friend and lock the door with your personal borrowed lock after checking out.

Why do you think it is normal or legal to put locks on doors from other people's houses?

Landlord came with a cutter to cut the illegal placed lock on his property and you accuse him of bringing in a weapon?

You checked out, so leave the place and don't even think you own it because you paid rent for the days you stayed there.

Will be a long court case and you will lose much more than the 2300 Thb, which should have payed in the first place.
