  1. Im opening a shop at the end of the year I am going to have to do some work on it eg.rebuild some walls knock some down and other stuff as our tennants havent looked after it,once ive done the building work we will be opening it, Am I allowed to do the work or do i need a work permit? also what is involved in getting a work permit I own 49% of the shop, my wife seems to think can just work there no problem because were married but I have told her I think i have to employ people and invest more money and it would be easier if she ran the shop.

  2. was it a very small bar ??? I dont see why you couldnt move somewhere else in the bar away from him,As for hitting him and thinking it is acceptable in a UK bar I can tell you now I worked doors in UK for many years and if I saw you hitting an old guy youd be out quicker than you came in,Is there is no reason you couldnt act like an adult and walk away. I meet idiots now and then I find it more fun to play along with them and laugh at them till I get bored then walk away. One further point I'd like to point out, just cause someone looks like a tough guy dont mean they are and just cause they look an easy target dont mean they are, the only way to learn that lesson is the hard way and I think you may be on the road to learning that lesson unless you relax and stop stressing about other peoples hang ups :)

  3. It sounds to me as though the OP is bi-curious but doesn't know it yet and also has been reared on a diet of homophobia.

Just do it, OP...I;ve heard that members here really enjoy the not-homosexual (wink wink) experience of ladyboys.

nope just a lot of years working the doors (bouncing) in gay clubs as well as straight ones, there seems to be a very lot of gay men in Thailand so noticing a few in a bar didnt ring any bells as there where quite a few in the chill chill bar too.

  4. Wait, they really put your gin and tonic in your beer? That's crazy. How did it taste?

it didnt taste too bad at first but the more you drank it the worse it tasted lol I cant balme the thais really its my fault for not speaking there language, but to be fair a bit of common sense would say give it to me in a seperate glass, at least that way if i wanted it in my beer i could pour it in myself lol in all my life that is the first time ive asked for 2 drinks and had them both put in the same glass and I often have a beer with whisky chaser lol

  5. OP, if it was me I would be worried about myself.

Sitting for an hour in a gay club and nobody approached you?

    I would be in tears..............

Lol I certainly dont look the approachable type :) but I dont worry about it I'm an ugly guy some of us have to be :)

  6. I was wondering around near where I live and found a bar called Chill Chill so went in and had a couple of drinks which was entertaining as I asked for a beer and a gin and tonic this took about 15 mins to sort out :) so my beer was brought and placed on the table in front of me I said to the girl and a young man were gin and tonic they smiled at me, so I sat waiting after about 5 mins I decided to start drinking my beer whilst I await my g+t only to find they had put it in the beer lol I really thought my sign language was quite clear, obviously not lol anyway had another couple then paid and started to leave I noticed another club/bar just opposite it called Gstar so I wondered in there and ordered my drink I was stood watching the stage act which was a pretty lady singing there was a lot of men in there but some women too I just thought its early and maybe get busy later, so i gets another couple of beers after about an hour about 8 men/boys came on stage wearing just underware, then it clicked lol, I swiftly finnished my beer and left but to be fair if the young men hadent come on wearing underware I could have happily stayed there watching the acts it was fun :) anyway my question is, in uk its quite acceptable for straight people to go to gay bars with no problems,is it the same here or would I have been in some sort of trouble with the locals if I had stayed ? silly question I know but id like to know if I was upsetting anyone :)

  7. you converted your licence ? does that mean i can take my driving licence and go and just get it converted to a thai one with no tests or anything?

Secondly would i get a motor bike one too as I have the motor cycle ability on my licence, I can drive upto a 125 without L plates its a uk licence?

Yes you just go and convert, the only tests you take is the reaction and color vision tests.

However if you don't have a proper UK bike license, you can't get one here without taking a full test but it's easy so don't be discouraged.

TY :) one more question were do you go to get this done and whats the cost im in Bangkok ?

  8. Sounds like an elaborate con to me, but the only kink in the story is that you bought him food / necessities instead of giving him cash and he was grateful... Odd indeed...

Yes, that sound strange to me too.

OP, Where did you get the food from, was he guiding you towards a conveniently located nearby food seller or did you just pop into the nearest 7/11 ?

I was walking same direction as him when he mentioned buying him food I saw a 7/11 on the opposite side of the road over a bridge ahead of us so I headed to bridge and walked over it and took him to that one theres was also one in front on same side.

  9. I say you did good. Karma always comes back around.

What country did he say he fled from?

my memory isnt as good as it was but i think he said Bangladesh dont quote me on that though he said he and his family had been beaten and his daughter had her leg broken ect what rang my alarm bells was he was quite insistant i see the pictures I assured him I did not need to see the pictures of his wife and children beaten to a pulp just because they wouldnt change to muslim this is what he told me he said "they told me to convert to muslim or we will kill your family " dont know if I can put that but he said he had no choice but to run with his family . he was an asian man who spoke good english.

  11. Thanks. I don't know world for speak thank you to you. You have make for me a very big thing. We prefer not sell the house if is possible, but the other solution is ok. We live near Vientiane, Udon Thani, so no problem. One milion of thanks, grazie, grazie, grazie.

Prego. Check that Savannakhet could be even better than Vientane, as they give multi-entry, valid one year, do border hops every 90 days, or extend every entry further 60 days for Bt 1,900.

you have to leave Thailand every 90 days come back in get new 90 day stamp

  13. Ok just read through every post here again and understand there is parking at the bridge but still want to no how safe it is and do you pay for some one to keep an eye on it ,spouse like nong khai.

I see the Lena GH is the go but it's booked and the only hotel now with a pool is the http://www.agoda.com/en-au/daosavanh-resort-spa-hotel, at just over 2000bt .

Also read on page 4 somewhere a guy got the non O in one day ,is that still possible ?

    Cheers.

AS you aproach the border friendship bridge you will see a car park on the left,I drove to the border gate and parked my car in a bus parking bay,I got required slips to fill in and sat at a table filled them in then moved the car to the car park, I left the car there for 3 Days whilst I was in LAOS and it was fine I didnt pay anything to anyone to leave it there.

  14. The recommendation to see an ENT was not to obtain a "new diagnosis" but rather an expert opinion as to what, out of the drugs that are available in Thailand (given that what you have been using is not) would be most likely to help you.

All pharmaceuticals licensed for sale in Thailand are listed in a book called MIMS, poster above has given an online link or the book itself may be found in most pharmacies. just ask to see "MIMS". (Which is what I consulted in replying to your question).

ah sorry if i came across wrong don't know about this medical stuff just assumed everywhere would do the drug as its a one of a kind didn't mean to be nasty or anything ill go see an ent thanks for replys :)

  15. Is there such a thing here? I've tried lots of places all of them suffer from a lack of cheese and usually taste less. Finding a kiev folded pizza, that's a whole new mission. Before all the Thai bashing squad start,Im not having a go at the culture or the food,I don't wish to travel all the way back to were i came from just to eat a decent pizza,I just want to know if there is anywhere to get one in either Bangkok or Korat preferably both :) cheers.

  16. Unfortunately not available in Thailand.

There are some drugs here which contain the same active ingrediant - Ipratropium - but all of them combine it with either fenoterol or salbutamol (asthma drugs), not what you need.

I'm afraid the best advise I can give is to consult an ENT here, explain your history and see which of the various meds available here he suggests. Dr. Songklot at St. Louis Hospital is very good, trained in the US. Sundays 9 Am - 4 Pm and Thursdays 3 - 7 PM. http://www.saintlouis.or.th/clinic/doctor.php?dr_id=272

thanks for the reply but there is no point in going back to hospital to be told what i already know in not wasting money finding out old news, could you give me a link to show rinatec isn't available here ? Hard to find i believe but this is the only product that stops running noses with all the mauy thai fighters here i cant belei e none have them suffer from my problem.thanks for the reply but i need the product not a new diagnosis.
