  1. as everyone says leave. You won't win anything; thinking you are getting a years rent out of it, all you will get is a years pain (if she does not have you knocked in that time). You might be well travelled but you seem, from this and your previous marriage, to have very little idea about women. Take this as a lesson and take your time to get to know girls. You are working as a school teacher? Use people that you are friends with (respectable people) to introduce you to nice thai women who are not after you for a salary.

  2. I used to live in Phuket and play about every 2 or 3 weeks; mainly a hacker if I am being truthful but I would go out to have a fun day with my mates. Have also played Pattaya and Hat Yai as well. Phuket caddies in my opinion where the worst by far. Don't get me wrong, I have had some good caddies there but on the whole they where pretty terrible. And the cost is crazy for Thailand (Red Mountain is stunning though).

Having said that I don't really expect them to do anything more than hold the bag and be pleasant, they get only 300 baht a day which is ordinary money so most of them have no idea. I paid the price when I asked them one day to do more than that, was putting for a birdie and asked about the lay on the green and was given the opposite direction of what it was. I did blow a gasket, which I am not proud of now, but lesson learned.

And for that 300 baht they really do earn it. It's bloody hot on those course and most of the girls are small and the bag would be quite heavy for them. This is just a job for uneducated ppl. Any of them that have a great work ethic will probably go on to better jobs than this

  3. Stayed there a few times; nice interior, very comfortable rooms, great spanish restaurant. Was a bit let down by the service at the front desk. 40 minutes to check in, then they could not find the booking (had the booking number) and it was all our fault. Having said that I would stay there again

  4. It's ok, but it is not a dating website. But lot's of people use it as such. Lot of girls in Bangkok on it though and they seem to be on the prowl. I actually found it less 'hookerish' than some of the other free dating sites. I left after a couple of months though, too many Philipino's contacting all the time

    that's interesting because of Phippinos.

which ones are more 'hookerish', by the way?

Hmm, have to stretch my brain here because it has been a couple of months. Date in Asia was one, it was ok not too many hookers, some but not overflowing. Tagged was full of hookers. Not so much in Thailand but some, but lot's from Africa. And it was relentless. Left that after about a month

  6. Definitely not Witch's Taven - had a pint of Heineken in there on Friday afternoon - think it was 220 ++. And it was flat.

That place should be flattened and the space used to build something more useful... like a condo or something. I've been i nthe witches taven maybe half a dozen times and each and every time i've felt the service was crap, their produce sub-standard and their prices inflated!

Given the choice, i will always goto Fat Gutz or Brew instead of WT

Witches Tavern is terrible; bad light, flat beer, bland food. And it is all expensive. I like Fat Gutz though, had about 4 or 5 fun nights there. Iron Fairies is good too. Looking forward to checking out some of the other places mentioned on here

  7. Does anyone know of any great Hong Kong style dim sum/yum cha places in Bangkok? I have read a lot of message boards and from what I saw it seems they are all in the hotels. I went to a few but was disappointed frankly after eating in Australia and the US. I mean the type where they bring the trolleys around and you take your pick, I like the ambience of that style of restaurant more than ordering off of a menu.

    Cheers
