  1. First this big story and lies:

    Pattaya, Thailand-

A children’s playground located on Jomtien Beach by the Night Market made local media over the weekend, including with us, as residents and parents posted their concerns about the condition of the park.

First, you can read our prior article about the playground right here.

To the credit of Pattaya City leadership, they responded only one day after the playground was covered in the local news media. Led by Deputy Mayor Manoch Nongyai and Witchawut Pinyo, head of the local park department, a team of officials and reporters visited the playground yesterday afternoon, July 12th, 2021.

The playground has been closed by government orders for about three months (like many things in Pattaya, including the entire entertainment sector and nightlife) and remains closed according to Deputy Mayor Nongyai. However, the regular maintenance and cleaning of the park had clearly fallen into disrepair.

According to Witchawut, the actual equipment and playground were about 80% functional and the major issue with the playground was the special surfacing used which was cracking and have weeds and plants growing through it. Additionally, trash and other materials had accumulated in the park.

The reason for the lack of maintenance, according to Witchawut, was that the keys to the park gate and who had the responsibility for them were unclear, causing cleaning staff to be unable to access the area….for three months.

The keys were reportedly in the custody of several municipality officials and were later located and will be provided for cleaning staff. From now on, according to both Witchawut and Nongyai, the park will be cleaned daily, even if it isn’t opened to the public, as it is highly visible for all those exercising and around the Jomtien area. The park will also be resurfaced in the near future.

However, Deputy Mayor Nongyai noted that playgrounds remain closed by government order, and even if it is immediately repaired the park would not be able to open to the public until the Governor orders it. Regardless, the park will be completely restored in the near future, according to Nongyai.

STILL NOT CLEANED. ANYONE OF THE CLEANERS WALKING DOWN BEACH ROAD EVERY DAY PICKING UP A FEW LEAVES COULD HAVE DONE THIS THREE WEEKS AGO, EVEN BEFORE WITH A LITTLE LADDER. OMG

In real time we are watching the very things that made all the atrocities of the past happen. Truly surreal to live through this and see it happening.

Shocking that we made it thousands of years to this point, I bet few can imagine what life was like just 150 years ago in Thailand.

OP, you should probably execute the people visiting from Bangkok, you know, just to be safe!

    Good idea.

Of course it's true, it was announced yesterday by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and reported yesterday, why would it not be true?   Government announcements do not have to be confirmed as true by posters on this forum.

Get smart, my lady was refused no matter what Ministry said. I had to fight for her vaccine. Staff said no way for her.

    Fox is biased RIGHT.

    CNN is biased LEFT.

MSNBC is somewhat to the LEFT of CNN.

OAN is falling off the edge of the earth to the RIGHT of Fox.

My subjective feeling overall is that CNN by far the BEST source of news of that list. Saying that acknowledging their bias and flaws. It's all relative. That doesn't mean that people should reply only on CNN of course.

The right wingers call CNN Fake News simply because they call anything including strongly verified FACTS as Fake News if they find it unpleasant and conflicting with their agenda.

Fox features some particularly insidious and dangerous "stars" including the incredibly notorious (beloved by white supremacists) Tucker Carlson  and Sean Hannity.

Absolutely right. I cna't stand the TMN cable, has three Russian stains including that idiotic Belarus and charges me 1000 baht per month for 50mb wifi.

As an over 75 went to Bang Sue station yesterday from Pattaya, arrived Gate 1 contacted a volunteer who showed me to a seated area in the station concourse where I had my BP checked then onto further 3 catchment areas 1 fill form for medical history which was in Thai, no problem an interpreter was on hand,  next info put on database, next inoculation, finally 30 minute recovery. Left station 1 1/2 hours after arrival. An appointment form for next inoculation was issued at stage 4.

Documents I provided Passport and Thai driving license

    Vaccine was AstraZeneca-1

From massive apprehension to delight in ninety mins. As good as any service offered by NHS UK for similar procedure, free too!

Thank you Thailand and all people involved.

My form was in English. Only passport asked for. Supposed to go to Gate 2, that's why form in Thai not English.

  6. Do not bring your caregiver, they won't be accepted. I am 78 USA and went yesterday and stood outside with the mob for an hour. No police control only TRUE company volunteers. I risked it because they said lady can get vaccine and I can walk in. I won't tell you how I got her a jab finally, it wasn't easy. It took 2 ½ hours to get Astra Zeneca.

They said the story about caregivers was not true.

  7. Bangkok’s Ban Sue vaccination centre reports a continuing number of expats 75-plus who can be vaccinated free with Astra Zeneca via a walk-in facility from 9 am to 4 pm. Today, the centre’s management announced that, starting Wednesday July 21, the carer of the farang (if necessary) can be vaccinated free too, even if under 75. No end date has been stated.

Applicants need to carry their passport and also proof of address in Thailand, such as a driving licence, house book, a rental agreement, or even a utility bill in their name. No copies are required, although a check is made to ensure the applicant has a one year visa or better. The only medical test is via a blood pressure machine, with a very generous 181/100 being the maximum permitted for inoculation.Various other foreign groups are also being vaccinated this week at Bang Sue, for example applicants with prior appointments via certain foreign embassies. But they should not be confused with this “oldies’ special.” The centre, which has already covid-vaccinated more than 2,500 foreigners, is designated in late 2021 to become the largest railway centre in South East Asia with around 26 platforms.

Those travelling to Bangkok from Pattaya may (or may not) meet road check points on the outskirts of the metropolis. They are advised to download https://covid-19.in.th/ to access a QR code. The site is currently in Thai, so a friend or relative may be required to give assistance. Prior registration for this particular scheme is not possible: walk-in only! However, Pattaya expats travelling on Tuesday July 21 reported no road checks which were difficult to satisfy.

  8. Yesterday they closed the navy beaches near Sattahip. This afternoon I came to my condo, AD Condo in Bang Saray and all three big pools were shut down with tape. The notice said something about Chon Buri Communicable Diseases Office. Could not find anything on web about this nor can my Thai friend.

I did see the list of all closures for Bangkok by the governor that said...'Public swimming pools' closing but not private.

Does anyone see this at their condo, please tell us.
