  1. Hi Im french born after 1983 from an english mother. Im not sure Im british but I think I am and I now want to make a british passeport in Bkk. Several agencies can do that, is that correct? Which one you recommend and how much is it? Also if I pay the fees and find out IM not british what will happen? No refund I guess... thanks for advice

  2. You can do that to get a 30 day visa exempt entry without a problem unless you have done a few of them back to back before.

If you are from a G7 country you could get 30 days by doing a border hop.

I have a brand new French passport with a non b work permit.

Im changing school so i need to cancel this wp go out and return with 30days.

Is it a stamp or an actual tourist visa?

How long do i need to wait at the airport?

    Thanks

  3. You would need to do the cancellation and new extension application during the same trip to immigration. If you were applying to different immigration office you could go to the old one to before the your termination date they would post date the cancellation. Then apply for the new one on the date the extension will be canceled.

The work permit application would need done far enough ahead of time of the cancellation.date to get the approval letter.

The old work permit could be canceled ahead of the termination date and then the new work permit could be issued on the date you start working for the new company.

    Thanks!

When you say immigation, you mean the cheangwattana immigration office?

    Cheers,

  4. You new school would need to apply for your work permit and obtain a application approval letter.

Then with a termination letter your current school you could cancel your current extension and apply for a new one showing the approval letter and documents from your new school. Then after the old work permit is canceled then your new one will be issued.

    Thanks,

Could I have a bit more details?

I need to do this the same day?

  5. It would be best to apply for an extension of stay based upon marriage (it is not a non-o visa) the next time your extension is due renewal.

Permanent residency or citizenship takes years to get approval. So be best change to the extension based upon marriage.

If its not a non O visa, how is it called?

    Thanks

It's called an "Extension of Permission to Stay", based on your marriage, it is not a visa.

which gives you 1 year renwable?
  6. To gain employment in a true international school you will need a proper teaching qualification, not a TOFEL or any other half ass certificate that people get and call themselves a teacher with, a proper degree and relevant full-time experience for a minimum of two years. Luckily for you there are plenty of half ass schools in Bangkok that call themselves international schools so they'll turn a blind eye to those requirements but teaching French as a second language will limit the potential employment pool for you. Find out what the requirements are to work in a language school or local school, it's a very low bar so you're probably already over qualified.

    Thanks for the answer,

I have 5 years exp in a language school in bkk only teaching French. So I was wondering what were the requirements for international schools. Having an english teaching degree will have no sense wouldn't it?

  7. Hi there,

I wish to work in an International school in bangkok as a second language teacher (not english), the problem is I only have a Bachelor of Business and a TESOL plus roughly 5 years experience teaching kids from international schools but privately as well as corporate teaching. I think its a bit late to apply for this year but I can get ready for next year. What are my chances? What could I do to succeed in my quest? I will be grateful if you can post any information. Cheers
