  1. If you have a residence in the U.S. where you receive your maIl from all state and government entities and live most of the year in Thailand, there is no fraud about it.

And as stated earlier in the blog by another, You paid into the system and you are do those funds as required by law, there is no rule about where you live. You do have to file taxes if you make above a certain amount

  2. What part of the country is the new home to be built?

Are you in Thailand to over see the building? and possible be involved with purchasing materials?

Has the land actually been transferred to your girlfriend legally by the Government office? it sounds as if the land has to be rezoned first. If it has not been actually transferred then DO Not build a thing......the structure you could be building might just end up with the original owner and not your girlfriend

Drp me you email and we can sort ylou out easier then listening to all these negative and unhelpful opinions.

Yes I built a home up country a few years back.

  3. Thailand relaxes travel curbs for tourists from over 50 countries

BANGKOK (Reuters) - Thailand on Thursday eased travel restrictions for citizens from 56 countries in a bid to boost the country’s pandemic-hit tourism industry, though visitors will be required to undergo a mandatory two-week hotel quarantine.

Tourists from countries including Australia, France and the United States can travel without visas, but would need a certificate to show they were free of COVID-19 72 hours before travel and a place at a quarantine hotel, Taweesin Wisanuyothin, a spokesman for Thailand’s COVID-19 taskforce said.

Visitors would then be subject to a two-week quarantine period after arriving, he said, adding that the normal 30-day visa would be extended to 45 days

While in quarantine, arrivals would undergo three COVID-19 tests, up from two required previously, Taweesin said, adding that more testing could potentially lead to shorter quarantine times in the future.

The revisions come as the tourism-reliant economy struggles to encourage more domestic activity, but an ongoing travel ban continues to keep most foreign tourists away.

“The entry of tourists will stimulate the economy,” Foreign Ministry spokesman, Tanee Sangrat, told Reuters.

It’s only a matter of time before the Risk Assessments are carried out and the arbitrary number of 2m gets scrapped so people can go about their business without the fear of Jess and the like getting all hot under the collar.

    Sooner the better.

No one is hot under the collar, if anything a bit surprised about the lack of concern regarding  the situation.

I walk 8 mies daily most of it out doors, and the original statement was an observation that was shared......

  5. It seems from the majority of the responses to the initial statement, That not many people are concerned about taking precautions to prevent a second wave of the virus after the international flights return and the tourists slowly trickle back...seems to me thats when we will be at the greatest risk.

It’s only a matter of time before the 2m distance gets relaxed. Originally 1m was advised by the WHO then the whole world decided to make it doubly safe and it’s stuck.....for now.

Totally Impractical and with infection rates so low, unnecessary.

Unfortunately, you dont seem to have grasp on whats going to occur. Yes the recent lockdowns etc..have helped, but If we do not use safe guidelines going forward, like face masks and social distancing what do you thi k will occur once the airports open for international flight...or possibly your from the group that thinks it won't happen.

Well in my book you do the best you can to prote4ct yourself until there is a vacine, do less is just idiotic and irresponsible.

Social distancing only compound the ruining of the economy of this country and many others, it was good idea while the pandemic was raging, no need for it now, even at the cost of few more infections, the economy is in tatters continue like this and it will bring more misery to people than any virus/ pandemic ever can...

If you did not feel at risk, why dwell upon it in so many words?

I simply stated my clear observation of what I saw occurring ...its called communication

You come to my village and see all the masks yet they cram together at the market like sardines. Go to Central Festival , no such thing. Hasn't been since the start of all this rigmarole. This is in Chiang Mai.

Like mask usage, social distancing now is little more than theatre.

Perhaps instead of obsessing on the beahviour of others you should be happy for the freedom you are all too slowly regaining.

As an adult, you should also be able to make decisions and jusdgement regarding your own safety. If you feel you are at risk, perhaps you should remain at home

Never said I felt at risk, just surprised so many not following simple government guidelines

  10. The Alcohol ban was put in place to improve social distancing. Prior to that people were asked not to gather in groups and numerous places were found to have gatherings of people, including the beach areas. Yes It was necessary, and should be kept in place longer. Tl many readers dont have a clue whats going win with this virus and unfortunately by letting society resume its activities to soon my create a bigger problem and a huge problem for the health care system.

Remember your not safe from this virus until, there is a Vaccine and that is still about 18 months away.

  11. Today Friday April 17th, I attempted to do my 90 day report online. (My last report is good until April 29th) I filled out the requested form entered the CAPTCHA number which was verified clicked the button for the next page and nothing but a pop message "That if I had further questions regarding my 90 day report to contact my local immigration office"?

I re entered everything  again and same message appeared.

Last 90 day report I did the report online , same computer and it all went through very well.

Anyone have any thoughts/ Is it the moratorium that might be affecting it?

    Thanks

  12. Easy enough to get a proper work permit/ Visa. In Pattaya the ones without work permits will not get the required assistance from there employer to get the permit/ visa. Or They simply decide to try to get around and some even dont know its required. This usually becomes a big deal when  many of them are taking Thai Jobs. Immigration laws clearly state  which jobs a foreigner cannot have.....every seen farang bar manager? chances are he has not work Visa, or the Guy running the Kebob stand On Soi Buakhao? Every walk by a Indian Tailoer shop and wonder if that bloke trying to sell you the cheap suit has a work permit?

  13. Thai Visa at its best, putting out another new article with only part of the information!

Why not inform the reader if the existing tenants in the Avenue will remain there? Like Starbucks? the Villa? Mc Donalds? Robin Hoods? the Cinema? D.I.Y?

I will assume that they will remain and that the 39 mentioned locations in the Avenue are those mostly up stairs or in the back corners..

I would thin k if your interview the new Landlord this would be a typical question in the interview.

Why not just get a Non Imm O visa, I got mine 10 years ago in Bangkok. These don't need insurance?

    100% Spot on.

Application for the Non-Immigrant O Visa and extension in Thailand:

It is required that you apply for a 90-day initial non-immigrant visa from the Thai embassy or consulate in your home country prior to your application for a retirement visa in Thailand

You will have to wait for 60 days to be in Thailand before you can file your retirement visa application at the immigration office or you must be on the last 30 days of your current permit to stay.

Proof of address in Thailand (utility bills, rental agreement, etc.) is also required.

Note:The foreigner on a visa exemption stamp or a tourist visa can still apply for a retirement visa given that the foreigner has already met the requirements for the non-immigrant O visa and for the one year extension visa applications. This can be done at the immigration office in Thailand.

No it is incorrect as it has been reported insurance from your home country will not be considered or the guys that have tried and been rejected are not telling the truth and I doubt that is the case. They seem to be requiring Thai based ins companys and they are happy to show you a list

    Your out of date..

All extensions coming from an original OA visa, however old, DO require insurance.

I never said OA Visa, A lot of us originally started with an O visa and then it went to extensions based on retirement
