Really? Did you read the OP?
" Foreign tourists would be able to continue to use SIM cards brought in from other countries under roaming service and would not be required to turn their location on. They would only receive a location-tracking SIM card once they showed their passport to purchase one from a Thai service provider. "
How would you compel a tourist to go and purchase a SIM card?
Roaming rates are very very expensive, so most people who stay here would convert, its not a big deal to do, unless you want to think it is?

It's not a matter of having anything to hide or not. Very simply, it's impossible to implement but highly important govt officials spent time discussing it and agreeing to implement it.
No wonder the real important issues (such as road safety etc) do not get addressed.
implementation is easier then you think

Well yesterday I went to the Chonburi Immigration office to renew my retirement visa, I arrived late and at the front desk i was asked if my paperwork was in order, I replied yes .I was not given any of the new documents to fill in before i could get a number, I was then given a number and actually went directly to be waited on without any wait whatsoever. I was told after the lovely young lady reviewed my documents that I could pick my passport the next day. (i could have got it the same day if I had come there before 10am).
I went today to pick up my passport and new retirement visa and once more had no wait and had my passport in hand within 2 minutes of my arrival.
Before departing I decided to get my new 90 day paperwork so I went to the front desk and asked for a number , and TODAY, they did indeed ask me to fill out the new forms, I hesitated and she asks dif i had done so already and I said i had, so I was given a number and allowed to get my 90 day updated.
It looks like this new form is being done randomly,
let me know your comments and experiences.

you can get travel insurance for any amount of time from Bupa and you pay by the amount of days you need to be covered. easy to do online, and its good anywhere except the USA

There was no need to mention which country as ATM's are internationally linked by companies like Cirrus.
Its not my Bank which is a problem its the banks here. They no longer will distribute more then 10k at a time, before you could get 20 or 30 k.
I just wanted to know if anyone could tell me where there is an ATm that still dispenses more then 10k, without going into the bank.
Simple enough

Check the used car lots first. many of them on Sukimvit road,

my primary atm card is from Etrade. As i travel around the USA, most ATMs limit it to 500 USD a transaction, but I can take out 1000 USD in a day. However at one of the local casinos, it allows 800 USD a transaction. So the limiting factor seems to be the ATM machine. My memory seems to tell me I have taken 20K baht out once or twice a few years ago, but I can't be sure. That would be more than 500 USD. I will make an inquiry because soon it could be very convenient if I can actually take out 30 K baht at a time or at least up to my 1000 usd limit at one shot
Most of the atm machines here give you a choice of 10k , 20 k or 30k and have for years, especially Krugsri bank, the yellow bank

a little off topic, Does any one know of an atm machine that will disributre more then 10k, they all ask if you want more and when you ask for it they decline it.
A limit of your bank/ATM card I would guess. Many UK debit cards limit withdrawals to £250 to £300 per withdrawal. Wasn't a problem until the ATM charges were introduced.
Ye that was my initial reaction and my atm card has a limit of 30 k, Some of the machines used to give it, and now they won't give me more then 10k at as time. Iam thinking this is the way they get more atm fees?
Are you referring to a Thai card? Otherwise why would you refer to a 30k baht limit?
its a USA bank atm card, the actual limit is 1000.00USD or about 35k now, I just 30k as a reference point as thats the highest amount your supposedly cant get from an atm here

I have never seen one in this country for a single family home, all are sold to big business, Industries which use a lot of water and the units are massive.
The one thing some people do is in line filters which can help.
good luck

Bangkok Bank, they have the most ATM machines throughout the country.
There Staff at all branches in Pattaya are very competent.
And they also have branches in foreign countries

I believe Makro was sold recently which may account for the drop in quality, there was also a report a few months ago that the police had set up a desk in Makro and were checking farangs for work permits on the basis of they were shopping in Makro they must be running a business ! Not heard any recent reports that this is still happening?
Makro Thailand was sold in 2012 to Cp Foods.

First check with your shipping company about packaging and cartons, sometime s they have them free of charge.
If they cant help go to the DHL office on Second rd. and buy there boxes, they will have several sizes.
Check with Ocean cargo shipping services regarding LCL shipments. (LCL means less then container load), you can ship amount and just pay for the size and weight of the entire shipment.
Good Luck, and expect Customs on the U.K. end to check everything with a fine tooth comb so make sure your packing list and shipping manifest are 100% accurate.
Good luck

It's sold on beach road during festivals, or online or in specialty shops, just not sure which shop in pattaya has them or similar item. It works just fine for the price. I would much prefer a jews harp to a mandolin for said purposes.
I guess you don't know what a kitchen related mandolin is?

Silver Lake Winery is not far from Pattaya.
based on your comparisons of what you missed you won't find comparable here.

Take the car to the ferry and go for the day or more to Koh Chang. Rayong is a nice place to go check out the beaches and markets. Sattaheep is also interesting. I usually just get out and drive...whats interesting to one may not be to another.........Enjoy and be safe.
Been to Koh Chang, Rayong is very average and the beaches are dirty, not sure what you found interesting about Sattahip. Maybe I'm looking for something that isn't there.
Try lunch at the Marriot or the Rayong resort, both are nice places with great views, and remember you said you were going for a drive not a swim in the beach....i agree there are no good beaches anywhere in Thailand.
