if my spending rate could match the 200,000 to 300,000 per month there is no way i would be in Thailand. there are a lot more friendly countries that are environmentally better looked after than here. also the immigration hoops that you need to jump through

The Thailand Mob in 2020 started with thirteen entrants, But in Round 6, Gazman072 disappeared from radar contact without warning or notice. leaving the current dirty dozen. He previously had expressed concern about BigWazz freeloading on the comp without contributing. I still see Gazman now and then on-line on the footy sub-forum, so I'm not sure wot the issues are there......and it's not really my business to know.
Radar, yes you are right it looks as though I did leave without any warning or notice. I thought I did write something but on checking back nothing was in the system. Maybe I have some of my brothers, Rotten Ronald, genes in overreacting.
1. I must admit the thing with Bigwazz freeloading did upset, I know Ron had taken him though the process a number of times and he still refused to partake. I had also spoken with him and the last time it got quite heated as he was unreasonable in the unfounded comments he was making about his participation in the Group. I would much prefer if those in the group were contributors even though my knowledge of the players and teams is no match for the rest of the group.
2. At the time of my leaving I had made a move from Bangkok to a new venture in Ubon Ratchathani. During this time I had little of no internet and I was unable to put my tips in. Things are a lot better now and apart from the odd power black out have a reasonable internet connection all the time.
3. The way the league has been set up this year was somewhat confusing and I could not get my head around it. Furthermore when in Bangkok I could watch the football on Australia TV or even on Channel 7/72 using VPN. This year 7 is not broadcasting any games and therefore I can not even watch a match which does make it more difficult.
Once again my apologies for not saying anything and hopefully things will be better for me to participate in next years competition.

It is about the money though. The AFL are shy to pull the trigger, despite seemingly every other majpr sporintg body in the world doing so. The optics arent great but we do get to watch some games,
There is some over blown panic going on with this. Nice way to crash the world economy.
What does Dr Gaz think about it all? @Gazman1
The club will nto be able to keep it quiet. All cases of Convd-19 have to be reported to the Communicable Disease Departments in each state as it is with a list of many very contagious and dangerous diseases. When this is reported contact tracing will start and then tests will be conducted on the rest of the team and other people the person has been in contact6 with. I am surprised no one has it yet but it is early days so I can see a shut down sometime soon

A decision would have to be made today or tomorrow at the latest you'd think.
Like they did with the Formula 1 where people were actually no side the gates when they cancelled the event.
I can see the same happenning here except there will nto be anybody in the stadium so a riot will be avoided but the TV programs will need to reschedule and put a movie on or a rerun of last years grand final

I'd imagine having no home crowd would be to Melbourne's advantage in the first game Uncle Alex.
They certainly give us a lift.
I bet a lot of businesses go to the wall as well.
We're living in uncertain times alright.
I agree Will, imagine all those people at the football and other events that support things like selling food and drinks, i know the Govt are supposed to help but I am sure it wil nto be enougg

Thank you Alex for the title Dr Gaz. My money is on no matches this year. The Virus is not expected to peak until August which is the normal high for the flu season. So if they carry on not having mass attendees at events then AFL definitely fits the bill. It is still early days in Australia so the spread is not bad but it is ramping up. If this gets into the Aboriginal communities this will devastate them due to their existing heath issues.
It will come down to the financial decision of the AFL but again my money is on this going longer than a few weeks and decisions should not be made about mass events until after August

Well Alex thanks for the offer of FJ’s trees to camp under, I am nto sure he would be in agreeable though!!. Interestingly the Virus is not expected to peak in Australia until August which is generally the height of the flu season. My understanding is the virus does not like the heat and it’s time being alive and kicking outside of the body is extremely reduced under the tropical sun. We are heading into the hot and wet season so I think I will risk my time up here.
The Corona test has to be paid for and I would imagine most thais could not afford it or be bothered to have it done given that most people get a mild form of the disease. So I agree the numbers are less here not because the Government is not reporting accurately but due to the fact I do nto think they would know.
Now the Formula 1 has been cancelled, the cricket is being played behind closed doors, Soccer in Spain and Italy along with many events in the US, so what will happen to the football?? that will be a financial decision as to what the AFL will get money from given the TV rights are with Fox TV and I can nto see them giving away free membership to watch it.
I have picked my Fantasy Team and now I am looking at the possibility of recruiting Corona Virus onto my side because I think he will do well thins year.

2 weeks of self isolation will have the entire team unable to play for at least 2 and likely 3 weeks.
Filling the team with reserves is unlikely as they would likely have had multiple contacts with the first team players.
With an entire team unable to play, how will the points table be allocated?
Very good point had not thought that one through but yes it is possible. I suppose how seriously the Govt takes the spreading of the disease and whether they actually do something to stop it spreading further. Interestingly to note is that in NSW last night 12 new cases and have not been in contact with any known carriers or travellers.
The Formula 1 is going ahead this weekend in Melbourne as at the news this morning, the football starts 4 days later so the incubation period for the virus will not have reached the 14 days. So it will either result in a surge of infections in Melbourne (sorry Alex, should have stayed in BKK) and if so the horse would have already bolted!!!! Or nothing out of the ordinary will occur and everything will go ahead as normal.
My money is on a surge in infections and then the Govt will then try and stop future events going ahead

Will be very interesting indeed if they admit crowds to football matches. I wonder what affect that would have on the players with no background support. Must admit it was unusual watching the Italians playing soccer with no one in the stadium, would be like going to watch a Dockers training session!!!!

Good morning all,
Ron and I asked if Bigwazz could be a part of the football tipping a few years ago because I though we were looking for more people to join in. As a condition of him joining it was made clear he needed to be a member and participate in the banter on TV. To date he has joined TV but has never logged in or partaken in the banter.
Ron tried unsuccessfully to get him to join in up until he passed away as I have also but he refused and last year he got quiet abusive and made refererences that any group he had joined before have been precious pansies which I took offence to as part of the group.
He actually finished the conversation by saying I could shove the tipping up my <deleted> and he would not participate.
I said fine and if he did not participate in TV he would not be able to join the tipping as he would nto have the key to get into the tipping group for 2020.
To my surprise this year a key was not required and I find he has joined once again.
Ron worked tirelessly for TV and the football tipping and he was a stickler for the rules. I know I do not post a lot but I do post according to my level of knowledge for football.
I do feel strongly as did Ron and I am sure others who have commented as to who the hell Wazz is that people should be known to each other on the TV site and this rule should be adhered to.
Therefore I would actually like to ask for him to be removed from the group and put it to you members to decide if this rule should apply thus removing Wazz from the tipping group for the Thai Mob on the AFL Website.
Thanks
Gary

My call is Lyon will not coach next year.
Rip you are right I believe he has contacts in media and will take that route.
I have always said there is something wrong at the top, I thought so when Rick Hart was in charge and the same now with Dale Alcock. I can not see a change in coaches being the panacea the members are looking for, but that is just my opinion and being an old Freo boy can not seem to change my support for them. Maybe Sumich should be given a go I remember my parents shopped with the family when I was young.- 5

Well people
All over again for this round.
Rip wins the Milky Bars with an amazing 9/9.
Chooks wasn't to shabby either getting 8.
Well done gents.
Not much change at the top.
Until next week.
Well i feel somewhat cheated!!!
This week, again, I got the closest points which normally get a mention. This week seems to have been missed??
Here I am on the bottom of the ladder and taking medication to help me through the total loser feeling and now I feel as though my small wins are not worthy of mention.
Maybe a course in self flagellation may be of some benefit as I believed it helped the Benedictine Monks when they were being persecuted!!
Anyone interested in the results let me know and I can send details!!
I wait now for next week.- 3

You can check your AFL Tipping competition overall ranking on the site Gaz, it's right under your name.
I suspect that many have had a bad year, I'm 46044 / 267884 which is higher than deserves.
I'm sure that there are thousands well below you.
Well thanks for that, I looked up my overall place and I am 189,534 so I am in front of the trailing 78,000!!!!
Does that make me feel better, I suppose it could serve some small gratification, a bit like Donald Trump being offered Ivanka’s hand as they were doing the walk on the 4th July!!!
My only worry about attempting to break the record for the lowest score for the year with the Thiamob is that as sure as I start trying to pick losers I will actually be picking winners which is probably the system I should have been using all along!!!!- 6

Well congratulations on your selections this week. Was not long ago you were keeping me company at the bottom and from memory you did say that while I was within 5 points I could still possibly pass you but this seems to have given you a bit of a spurt on and you are making a late run!!! Now I have Radar for company but even he is skating away from me, maybe I should be looking at getting the worst score for all time, does anybody know if that is achievable???
Good luck to all those doing better than me, maybe next year- 5

Have anyone tried ubuy.co.th for ordering stuff from USA?
in General Topics
Posted
i used them to get some antiseptic cream, the order never came after a month and they did write to say it was lost in Transit. I then had to wait for a refund which takes 7 to 10 days for them to process nd then another 10 days to appear in account. Correct the items bought were 1400 baht and delivery 800 baht. they’ve said the refunded in US$ but the amount seems to be short and i have skeet them to clarify their calculations. still waiting for a response on that one. Definitely would not use them gain
