  1. My wife had taken her new car for a six month checkup at the local Honda dealership where she bought the car.

When I went to pay the bill with my credit card they told me that they don't accept foreign credit cards.

All the years that I have lived here this has never happened to me. Sure, many places don't accept Amex but always Visa or MC.

Is this just a Honda thing or do the other car dealerships have the same policy regarding payment?

  2. I've been using Citi Bank for over ten years without any problems.

About once a year I make a transfer to my Bangkok Bank account.

I send it in $US and Bangkok Bank converts it at the TT Buying Rate, which changes a couple of times during the day.

Cost is $35 to Citi and 500THB to Bangkok Bank

Might be cheaper using other methods but it's hassle free for me.

Your question is a good example of why folk should always state the immigration office.

The answer to any question is often ..."depends on you imm office".

At some offices for extensions retirement using money in bank method then bb along with photocopies of pages and bank letter is sufficient. One example CW.

At some other offices bank statements have become in vogue.

    It's a raffle shoot.

    Good point. I'm in Nonthaburi.

  4. Greetings,

I have a Non "O” Visa with my extension of stay based on marriage that will need to be renewed next month This time I am thinking of switching to a retirement visa to make the process simpler. I read that Immigration prefers this, so I guess that it wouldn’t be a problem. I have the money seasoned in the bank, so that wouldn’t be an issue.
I have excellent universal  health care coverage that covers me very well here in Thailand from when I retired. My concern would be if they force all retirement visa holders to buy Thai health coverage in the future.
If that ever happened, would I be allowed to switch back to an extension of stay based on marriage?
    I use Nonthaburi Immigration.
    Thanks in advance!

Correct, as to the 90 day online is working I've tried again now, due date 30th Oct... not working for me beyond 1st page info... it requests a visit in person yet again.

Last time it worked for me was Feb 2020... exactly the same info each time, very frustrating.

Same here. I'm also on 225 days overstay, according to the app!
