The main problem is that children are available for foreign paedophiles, but unfortunately no one will go after the local Thais who are providing the children.

And sorry for being so cynical, but there is money to be made out of foreigners: several hundred thousand Baht and you can go free, how much will a Thai pimp have on him, couple of hundred Baht? not really worth the police wasting their time!

And this morning at 5:00 at the Avenue Pattaya I watched as 30+ Thai boys and men fought in the car park: boys fight, then it’s over

though as soon as I read the headlines I anticipated reading comments from the boring ‘send them to prison’ ‘send them home ‘ etc etc

The perpetrators must be punished fully and possibly expelled from the school and the director should be punished also.

Listen to yourself, nothing will happen. You are obviously very new to Thailand and don't know how things work here. If teachers get away with beating a child, if teachers get moved to the next district for having sex with a student, what to you honestly think will happen in this case? 

Don't know why these stories are reported, it doesn't matter, teachers beat children; it is illegal, but as I was told recently at a child protection conference by a Thai professor "its Thai culture, you foreigners don't understand", in other words they know it is wrong but the teacher is higher than the child and so can do anything they want

Started smoking at the age of 12, 40 years later and smoking 30 a day and then one day I just stopped.
