  1. Howdy,

I tend to stay in Bophut when I visit Samui on vacation. Haven't been back since Feb 2011 and it's probably likely that things have changed in that time in the FV.

eg: one restaurant closes, another opens. We are looking forward to returning to Samui in June.

On previous visits, we have eaten at The Shack, Krua, Happy Elephant, Red Moon, H-Bistro (this was the standout meal on our last trip but quite pricey)

I am keen to know what everyone's favourite Fisherman's Village restaurant is and would be grateful for any other Bophut area recommendations, to add to the list.

BTW, I have already read this http://samui.thaivisa.com/bophut-restaurant-guide/

    Thanks.

  2. Why do I have the feeling this is a promo thread?

I have no idea why. I was simply asking about the activity as I'm going on a short vacation to Samui in June.

If I wanted to promote, I would have given full details on the business I referred too in Lamai that offers this.

Of course, you could have looked through my short posting history before reaching your conclusion.

Please don't be so quick to judge.

  3. Another rather funny part, he claims he does not want to name the person but yet names the business they own, which is commonly known to everyone in Pattaya

    This statement is factually incorrect.

He did name the person and the family that he believes tried to kill him.

It's in his facebook posting. He just didn't want the name published in the newpaper article.

  4. This guy is in a "no-win" situation with this family, but the best for his safety is to get as much of the story out in the public. I would think as soon as he posts the video on u-tube he will be sued for defamation from the family. That will prevent him from leaving Thailand and may take a long time to clear. I don't see the family settling this quickly and quietly in form of cash as the "face" has to be saved.

Ahh but what if someone outside of Thailand happens to post said video on youtube?

  5. One must be aware that most, if not all, water sold in Thailand are contaminated with Dihydrogen Monoxide which is known to cause several deaths all around the world every year.

Thanks for that. I'll sleep well tonight......Maybe forever.

According to that dribble Dihydrogen Monoxide is used "by elite athletes to improve performance",

  6. 3 million GBP? Big bloody deal in the scheme of things.

I wonder what that actually represents as a % of all profits made by said bank through their customers use of these 'cards' when they travel to Thailand?

Let's all stop using cards if the banks will no longer guarantee to cover you for theft or fraud where it can be proven.

Use cash or TC's. When the banks back home start losing out on all the fees and currency conversion margins attached to those 'cards', they will soon be forced to cop it on the chin. Part of the cost of doing business, so to speak.
