  1. You resigned from the university. I think you mean dropped out. Did the university contact immigration about this? If yes, then as Mario2008 has stated you will now have to pay 20,000 baht. If no, then be polite get the letter to state you are no longer with that university and go over the border ASAP. I still feel you you be hit with the 20,000 baht fine either way as it is now the 26th of May 2013.

  2. Work permits can be a very large benefit to an employee on a Non B visa and to the employer if everthing is happy, happy, joy, joy. However, their is the darkside. We all know it, if the employer wants to fire the employee their is very little the employee can do apart from apply for an extra 7 days to their visa or run to the nearest border crossing. The work-permit is used as a tool buy the schools to bully people who have a mind to think, if you do not kow down to everything they demand they will call the MOL and cancel it without your knowledge and leave you out to hang. Been there and did not enjoy the experience.

  3. whats so hard about posting the form. I have done so without any problems ever since 90 reporting was allowed by mail. In fact I fill in 4 forms in advance each year complete with passport copies and a stamped addressed envelopes and put them in four different envelopes. Put the date they are to be sent and send my maid to the post office four times a year. So why all this drama about 90 day reports?.

You have a maid to do it for you! You rich BA#$%RD. I usually just send my wife to do it for me!!
  4. If he applies for a retirement visa it is a granted 1 year stay in Thailand that needs to be re-applied for every year. The 90 days is just a TM.47 document that is available in paper form from the immigration office or on-line. You have to send this every 90 days plus relevant copies of passport pages to your local immigration office, with a self addressed envelope with your house address. They will send you back the part of the document at the bottom as a reciept. You can go in person but mail is easier, plus make sure if it is mailed it is by recored mail ( ask for EMS ) they will understand.

  5. I managed to get my little yellow house book, but only because the lovely lady, I call "mum" went and got the chief of the district to come and sign papers saying I was staying in a house in his district and she is the owner of the house I am living. I am actually renting the house, so I technically should not have this book but it is not what you know, but who you know and show respect to them.

  6. You can post 15 days before the expirey date or no later than seven days after the expirey date. Send it by EMS mail so that you get a receipt, 1 you can track your mail and 2; if you do not get your letter back from immgration after about 10 days you can show it as evidence that you had and should not be charged for an overstay. Been here 8 years and it has not failed me yet.

  7. A dog that attacks for no reason; anywhere, with no collar with its owners information on it should be rounded up and put down. It is that simple as that! Thailand has too many stray dogs because they are too cheap charlie to go to the vet and have them sterilized. When there are too many, they throw them out of the house or take them to temples and let them go. No sense of responsibility! If I have a dog, it becomes part of my family which also means I take care of it and if it F%^ks up, I have to deal with it; but here in LOS it is all mai bpen rai as you have to escape a neighbours dog who thinks you are free game to attack. Thai people have no idea how to raise a dog properly and this can be seen also with the new generation of children; on that note the kids just need to be loved and spanked when they are bad........not put down, like a dog.

  8. No civilian should be carrying a gun around outside of their own property. Once you step out of your gate onto the road it is a public area. Only fully trained police officers should carry a side-arm in public, not civilians. These guys did wrong regardless. They should go to jail but also so should the other guy for his crimes. No one should be standing up for these people saying it was a heat of the moment action. They shot caused harm and as such should suffer the law, plus the other guy which will eventually be caught!

  9. I am just waiting for the market bottom to drop out and 1997 again. Most of the top Thai people will have already transfered their money to USD with inside information from the stock exchange, knowing that the baht is going to crash very soon. Then again if the baht continues its rise against all currency's, it will be treated like a child no one wants to play with come ASEAN!

  10. How did he get the visa to enter Thailand and a job in the first place????

Any monkey can get a visa to enter Thailand and any other country - when was the last time you were checked for a criminal record?
Well, yes anyone can receive a tourist visa to enter Thailand. But he also was able to change this visa to obtain a paying job? I have lived in Thailand for 8 yrs now and I could quite easily get a criminal check from where I live. How about you BrianCR? Would you like me to send my criminal records to you by EMS or by E-mail?
  11. Sort the bloody bus drivers companies out!!! Send an experienced driver out with the learning driver so that they get to know thier new routes and the road dangers. They just seem to throw random guys into these buses as a driver and then hope they come back in one piece. One reason why I refuse to use buses to go anywhere in this country and stick to the nice slow trains that usually have not so many deaths!!

  12. When I studied it was usually never multiply choice but a defined answer plus a reason why I had chosen my answer. Thai children are now spoiled! The teachers are lazy! The kids are not taught to think on their feet but be force feed crap, which is out-of-date. The teachers council is full of fat, incompetent old people that are just waiting for their retirement payments. They will continue doing the same silly tests. ASEAN, 2015 will be the kick in the ass for Thailand!

  13. Get your visa into Thailand. After that you can get the paper work from any school to do volunteer work. This is then forwarded to the local education department. If they are happy with the paperwork you then go to the labour office, who will issue a work permit. Immigration have no need to know why you are in Thailand apart from your visa request, none of the main departments in Thailand talk to each other, and each keep getting new rules to follow that they did not know about.
