Well done the driver for stopping a disaster. Shame that the fire stations do not have the correct personnel on standby when most needed, which is 24/7. I wonder how many of the foreign tourists will be in trouble if their baggage with all the stuff like passports/money/credit cards has gone up in smoke.

They are lucky they have been allowed to stay open and also not being sued for building two structures blocking the canal in the first place without the proper government go ahead.

I will get my wife to book an appointment with the A/C dudes and get them to check the gas. I won't wait too long as April will be here soon and they soon get fully booked-up. Thanks for the info from you guys.

I just received my new electric bill and WOW! Last month I was so happy that it was so low at 1,400 baht. So I expected with the temperature and the slight increase of A/C use this new bill would be about 600-800 more. I was wrong! Today's new bill came in at a whopping 3,600 baht. Either they screwed up my last bill and under-charged me and now trying to pull money back or the unit to baht ratio has been changed. All I know is OUCH! I was not expecting that much. I was just wondering if anyone else has been hit with a bill like me and not expecting the cost jump. It's not even the hottest months yet!!!

Well how about banning Songkran this year if the water is so much in need for farmers. Oh, no. What was I thinking, this year across the country it has been extended from the normal 3 days to 5 days. Yippie!!

Egypt did the same thing. They dammed the Nile and now the farmers struggle to produce their crops.................stupid no brainer. People with money only looking after people with money.

Well I won't be adding to the drought problem over Songkran this year. I will only be using water for taking showers and after using the toilet

There seems to be a conflict between different branches of Thai Buddhism at the moment, each slandering the other. I say let's introduce a pay per view grudge match. Each can either try to out chant the other or go head-to-head beating each other with their fashionable handbags..............LET'S GET READY TO RUMBLE!!!

I hope he gets what he deserves. RIP to the old lady. One thing though I do not agree with is the way he said a game made him do this. Any normal person who plays a game or watches a movie does not then just stroll out of the house and decide to re-create a scene from either. I think this guy has some serious mental issues and should also be dealt with accordingly. Sad times...............

I am confused. The OP has either delayed his writing til today and had wrote it the day before and then posted it on the day of visa collection or he has managed to get a visa done on the same day as he is back in Thailand??? Don't mind me I sometimes get confused easily

Well done to the krusapa! They have now made so hard for a NES to get a teaching position that schools are now unable to even fill positions in a MEP program whish is their money maker. Time for schools to turn around and tell Krusapa/TCT to F off and let schools choose who they want to hire.

Teach them not to, just like you would a child and get them some chew toys.

Is this to protect the Thai's and non-Chinese tourists in Thailand from the actual "Chinese tourists" who will flock here and cause havoc and crap everywhere???? LOCK-UP your daughters and temples!!!!!

My wife does it constantly. Sometimes she does this before she goes to bed and I have been out to meet a friend. I come home and do not bother to turn a rooms lights on and "BAM!" I have just about broke my toe by walking into something she has moved as it was not there before I went out. It could be she just had a new idea on how a room could look or she has something on her mind and it helps her to relax. All I know is that I ask my wife to tell me, before I go out please! Tell me if you feel like moving stuff around before I go out so I will turn the damn lights on.

It's just across the road from the Pizza company restaurant. The tuk tuk drivers should know of either of them.

I would 100% say yes they are dangerous. I have a ant problem round my house and I use a non-chemical way to get rid of them. Just mix baking powder and powdered sugar into water. Put this mixture in bottle tops around the house and it will kill the ants.

Clean drinkable running water puts a country up a notch. Not the bottled stuff from the shop.

I had to do mine in Nan immigration. They wanted copies of all the pages from my old passport, plus to fill-in the transfer form. After about 45 mins I was called up and the woman asked if I had an embassy letter I showed her the package I had received containing my new passport with all the information stating that it came from the UK plus the leaflets put inside to help us ex-pats out. She accepted it and then missed the first page of my passport and started stamping like mad over 2 whole pages. When she had finished, I thanked her as I really wanted to have to apply for a new passport again soon as I did not like my new passport pic. She had no sense of humor, but the service was free. Altogether for a 6 hour drive there and back I was shocked to have to wait 1 hour to be processed. Plus some poor Laos national who had been caught by the BIB was placed next to us as the police and immigration looked unsure what to do but scratch their asses.

Mosquito's are the same as prostitution in Thailand. They and it will never-ever be stopped here and once it's bitten you just can't stop the itch!

If you know a family member or friend in BKK, you could write a proxy letter giving the name of the person you want authority to pick it up on your behalf. I did this just before December. I wrote the letter with the name of the person. Put the documents handed to me from Trendy for pick-up and my old passport in an envelope. I sent it to my wife's sister by EMS to her house in BKK. She just had to make a copy of her ID to match with the name I put in the proxy letter and show it to them. She was able to collect and send back to me without myself having to go all the way back to BKK. I hope this helps!

Lottery vendors threaten to rally in Bangkok

I have not bought a lottery tickets here before as I could never choose the numbers I wanted. I think it would be better if there was a system where you could go into a Tesco's, Big C or 7/11 and fill in a lottery ticket form and it is fed into the till/computer system and you get your ticket. Also you only pay exactly what the ticket is worth. So say one set of numbers 40 baht, two sets of numbers 60 baht and so on. Each set of numbers containing six numbers from 1-50. Now these new tills should be stand alone units so that do not hinder other shoppers, so at the help desk area would be good place they seem to do bugger all but sit there. This would completely cut out the middle man scams and keep the ticket price at it's face value. Just my thoughts.............plus they could also hire people with disabilities to work at these counters.
