But I also have an Australian ING debit card and we pay no ATM fee anywhere in the world

as long as you deposit $2000 per month, which I do.

Hi Could anyone advise if I can obtain a Thai Motorcyle licence in Koh Sumui ?

I am Australian- Have both a car and Motor bike Licence- An International driving Licence.

Will be arriving with a three month Visa, in two weeks.

agree 20min is a bit of a hike, Chaweng Noi is better option. We just stayed in Karon very few shops rent without passport. So i hope this is not an issue in Chaweng. I have licence, but never leave passport. Lost Australian passport now $860 to replace. Thanks

They handle the paperwork and - since they have contacts at the Bang Chak DLT - your application miraculously gets processed in a few days instead of 6 weeks or so. Ok thanks for this info, I have used Transferwise, I did not know they have a debit card. I did look at this option. However, the ATM fee from the Thai side is still charged. With ING Australian debit card the bank(ING) refund 100% of the ATM fee anywhere in the world. And there is no withdrawal limit. Citi Bank also have no ATM fee but their sole ATM is in Central World. So at this point ING are offering Australian clients a very good option.

In Sydney the average rent per month for two bedroom is 50k no pool, no gym, no furniture.

I'm hoping to find a condo 50m2  for 35k in Thong Lor with a good size pool and furnished. 

That would be a bargain compared to Sydney.
