I ordered it on the 24th- my order went from 'pending' to 'processing' on the 29th, then the company shut down between the 30th and the 3rd for their annual holidays...
Any news on the stand's arrival?
Seeing your Duc on the Bursig stand clinched it for me.Timely thread bump- Bursig finally finished the adaptor for my bike and I ordered a stand (and the optional wheels) on Friday- now let's see how long it takes to get here and how hard I get hit by customs.
This is a first-gen ZX-14 on their stand- the 14R uses the same adaptor. The weight limit is 300kg- my bike will come in at around 250kg after a couple of mods so I won't be doing the 'climb on the bike to check stability' test:
I don't climb on mine when it's on the stand either.
Hopefully it ships on Tuesday.
Lame- hopefully they're enjoying their 'beautiful holiday':
Holidays / long weekends
Dear customers,
From Thu. 30.05.2013 to Mo. 03.06.2013 we have closed.

We apologize for any inconvenience. beautiful holiday

Is anyone using a Scottoiler for their chain? I've considered getting one, but I'm not sure if I could keep it properly filled in Thailand.
I have a couple friends back in the USA that think they are great and wouldn't have any other solution, they claim that they don't even have to clean their chains because of the fresh oil always lubricating the chain from the unit.. Don't think they sell them in Thailand but you can of course order them in.
I have some friends coming down in August and I might order one- I need to make sure I can get some proper chain lube that will work with it first- the install is pretty easy.

Here's a good link from WebBikeWorld on chain maintenence- personally I agree with commande and I use WD-40, but there are other ways to go- I prefer a less labor-intensive method unless there is conclusive evidence that I'm doing something detrimental to my chain by saving some time.

You can get some nice ones at Touratech Thailand, but they're a bit pricey.
I just bought a Zumo-specific stem mount from Techmounts.com in the States- $100 shipped, and it's exactly what I needed:

Apparently they do a great job. Do you order from the internet or is some shop stocking them?Is anyone using a Scottoiler for their chain? I've considered getting one, but I'm not sure if I could keep it properly filled in Thailand.
I'd guess it would be difficult or impossible to source a kit locally- they run about 5K for the basic set-up, but then there's shipping, etc.

My owner's manual specifically states not to use fuel with an ethanol content of over 10%- I would imagine that's pretty much standard for most new bikes of large (600c+) displacement- it also requires 95 octane.
If someone has a 600cc+ bike that allows for E20, please post the info.
Edited- while my manual does state the 10% ethanol restriction, it also says 90 octane is the minimum requirement- the sticker on the bike (specifically for Thailand) says 95...

Tell them to confirm that the bikes they rent can be brought off the island- I would imagine that most of them can't be through the contractual agreement- it could make for some problems later, especially as most rental places insist on a passport as collateral.
-
Ah- then some WD-40, a blow dryer, and a little patience is all it takes.
-
Is it under the clear coat? It will be a big job to remove if it is.
-
Their sales come up as well- I've gotten a couple of good deals from their FB announcements.
-
If you 'like' the Dainese ProShop Bangkok FB page, most of the events will come up in your feed (the Big Wing meeting was announced on the 13th) - Facebook is actually pretty informative in that regard- the Thais love using it.

Oil filter price and p/n if you know it.
I believe the 500 is the same filter as the cbr1000/600rr .... Please let me know as i want to do a oil change today...
Obviously it won't help you today, but K&N filters are 480 baht shipped from 'ybfilters' out of the UK off eBay- they arrive in less than a week with no import charges- I've already got four of 'em.
You'd want the 204.
-
It's actually not much smaller than a Panigale.
-
A bit pricey, but at least you got 'em.
-
That's the place- click on 'products', then 'arrivals', then scroll to the bottom of the page (it's second-to-last)- it says they're in stock.

I think financing is a huge part of it- many buyers would have trouble coming up with the lump sum for a less expensive used bike, and there's always the Thai stigma that comes from buying second-hand.
Kawasaki really has the ER-6N situated well- Ducatis are way more expensive, and Honda doesn't have anything in the class to match it in performance (their new 500cc bikes are at a different level)- it's pricey, but it's not that overpriced compared to what it goes for in the rest of the world (it's the equivalent of 265k baht in the UK, i.e.)

No (at least not this year)- they've been dropped from the domestically-available line-up, so you can't get one direct through Kawi- one of the importers (like Red Baron) may be able to source one.Are ZX10R's still available here from kawasaki big bike or the like. I would really like to buy one but cannot find information relating to them recently.
Here's the list of available bikes for 2013:
Yikes, the er6 range has certainly jumped in price (new taxes etc.)
It's getting quite hard to justify trading in an existing bike for the latest model. Those second hand er6's at well under 200k look great value compared to the new price... I wonder how these price hikes have affected new sales...
While I'm not sure what the time-frame is, Real Motorsports has 10 Versys, 12 Ninja 650, and 38 ER-6N with deposits on them waiting to be picked up (all ordered by Thais)- they seem to be selling a lot of them- I don't think foreigners constitute a major part of the market, but it seems the Thais are very willing to pay the price- I would imagine the numbers are way bigger at the main dealership.

Blocking it off isn't a big deal- all you really need is the right size plastic cap- it definitely makes a difference.
Here are instructions and pics for my application- it's most likely similar for every bike:

I need to research their systems- I saw their electronic set-up, and no doubt it's better than the vacuum-activated one- in the end it's probably something I don't really need, but it just seems like a cool add-on, and I've been hearing about them for years.![;)](//forum.thaivisa.com/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png)
