Opening bank account rules catch 22 (1-year extension)
15000 for bank account 48000 for extension marriage visa (while already having the non-O. 16000 for retirement extension. Only opening bank account without using their visa service is 20,000 Baht. If previously only 4000, I guess it has gotten difficult! If it would still be (relatively easily) possible to do it yourself I doubt they could get away asking that much.

They just got back, opening bank account can be done, but cost is 15,000 Baht, so seems some cash needs to change hands to make it happen. Assisting on the 1 year marriage extension cost 48,000 Baht.

That is 100% correct! Only caveat being you cannot keep a Belgian adress, need to get de-registered at your Belgian municipality first. But anyway, got the COR from immigration for 200 Baht!

Opening bank account rules catch 22 (1-year extension)
It feels like most of that info, even if found on the website of the Bank itself is outdated. What I seem to be experiencing feels like it recently popped up, like in days, or maximum a week or two recent. Same as those new limits on mobile app and atm transactions, is literally days old!

Regular savings account to stick the 400K Baht is for 1 year extension based on marriage.

I would think that having a workpermit could also be sufficient when not having a non immigrant B? As you can have a workpermit on a non immigrant O when extended based on marriage. Might be possible when initially extending to 1 year based on an embassy document certifying the minimum 40K Baht/month income, as for extending with 400K Baht you're stuck in the catch 22! Unfortunately my embassy refuses to that, they only certify my signature and not the income itself, which immigration apparently won't accept (anymore).

Assume you're talking of a life insurance of some sort?

Many reports of DTV holders being excluded of opening a bank account specifically on the premise of it being just another variation of a tourist visa.

Asked them as well through Line, but apparently a waiting que of over 8 hours on Line and over a day on inquiries by e-mail. Hopefully they are not that busy just because of bankaccount inquiries 🙃

Opening bank account rules catch 22 (1-year extension)
I showed them that, and only got a "old info, website not yet updated" answer.... When on that page at the top you change to Thai language, and then use google translate, you'll see that on the Thai language version absolutely no mention is made about requirements for foreigners (tought I was going to be smart and show them the Thai page of their own website)..

The COR is not the issue anymore. I was mistakingly assuming immigration needed the first 90 day reporting done, which used to be but is not required anymore. The problem now is simply banks refusing to open an account unless holding a non immigrant B visa. Haven't tried Pattaya, don't have much love for the place, I'd rather live in Thailand, which, for me anyway, Pattaya ain't. When trying in Bangkok opening the account, on two occasions I thought I got lucky, as they said, ah, non immigrant, can do, until in one bank they took their recently updated "checklist", and in the other bank a supervisor/senior bankstaff was called in, where at that point they noticed specifically the non B being needed. So when someone actually opened an account (not just asked the lady at the counter) with just a non immigrant O and on their first 90 days stamped on entering Thailand, I'd love to know, I'll be there ind a jiffy....

Tell that to my shrink 😁 NAh, I just don't like airports and everything going with it much... The faster and with the least amount of hassles I get through, the happier I am! And nobody really likes dealing with immigration, unless you tried Buriram. Simply a breeze, perfect location, plenty parking, Amazon for a coffee and the Buriram FC shop for he latest T-shirt 😇

Kasikorn reduced ATM limits for foreigners
Or the current one is simply "playing safe" through the ridiculous low limits and alsmost stopping any foreigner to opening an account. Let the incoming governor take those decisions, then if some weird stuff would happen the outgoing one can't be blaimed!

I know, but I am a planner 😃 The idea of even the slightest possibility of something going wrong (officer away for lunch and almost boarding time after getting stuck in a traffic jam or some silly stuff) would leave me sleepless a full week before departing 🙃

Ah, clear on the 200 Baht then, they did indeed take a picture with their webcam thingy! Needed a re-entry as planning several trips in and out of the country over the next 2-3 months, and I still am a (very little) bit hopeful I can get sorted by an agency on the bank/1 year extension, so keeping the non-O visa alive through the re-entry made sense, especially being so fast and easy as in Buriram (compared to CW anyway, with taxi rides, queing, ...)

Anyone else struggled with the Drone pilot test?
That's only a transmitter in your link? Regarding drones, simple rule, if it has a camera, you need registration. No camera (and under 250 grams I think), no paperwork whatsoever needed.

Opening bank account rules catch 22 (1-year extension)
No luck in Buriram. They initially had no idea and had to contact head office. Head office mailed them the document woth the requirements, they printed it and that also stated non immigrant B with workpermit. Tried Kasikorn and GSB (what the Thais call "Oamsing" bank). The latter was decided instantly as they said couldn't because my COR stated my BKK adress. Di inquire a bit further as to ascertain it would be worthwile to pick up a COR at the Buriram castle immigration office, but same Non B + WP requirement. Basically threw the towel in the ring, That is 0 out of 10 tries. At least I have a multiple re-entry stamped in, cheaky buggers ask 4000 Baht at immigration (with a big friendly smile), but in and out in about 10 minutes...

And not forget, you need to register your drone with CAAT (through the same uasportal.caat.or.th) Can only be done after taking out insurance, you need the policy number and you need to upload the insurance certificate you recieve from the insurer. This was also annoyingly hard, as there seems to be a max. size on both the PDF's and JPEGS you need to upload, but it doesn't say so, so you drag a too big file into the upload window and it simply does not do anything, no error message or anything! The penny dropped when one pdf did upload and I noticed it was way smaller then the rest! Reduced size of both pictures and PDF's (for the pdf's using an online compress tool). Then you need to affix the registration number to your drone (I printed it out with a Dymo, but simply writing with a permanent marker is also allowed). Then followed by registering the remote of the drone with NBTC, this last part I had done by feic, wher I also got the insurance. Can take up to 3 days but I had it in a few hours. This document is only valid until the date you are allowed to stay in country (they need a picture of your entry/extension stamp). Checklist before allowed to fly your drone: Drone pilots license (the online theory exam). Drone insurance Drone registration (with CAAT) Remote registration (with NBTC) One of the weird requirements before being allowed to fly, is to have a fire extinguisher at hand!

Anyone else struggled with the Drone pilot test?
I passed it in one time... Just read through the 5 pdf's and the website on general info and rules, then opened the 5 pdf files (because the exam parts are not in the same order as the PDF files). Then a combination of things which had stuck in my memory along with using the ctrl+F search in the respective PDF's to search on keywords in the question, ... Ended up with 32 out of 40 (80%). Annoying part is if you fail, you have to wait 24 hours for the next try... Some of the questions were dfinitely a guess, as the English is indeed unclear at times.

KPlus is now almost useless to me after 4 years without issues they impose this on me
Until they activate your new limits to comply with the new BoT regulations. You have a screenshot today showing you can increase to 5 million, and we have a screenshot limiting us to 50,000 Baht. No amount of calling to the K-center could change that limit apart from telling these are the new limits for foreign held accounts by order of the BoT. I totally believe you can do 5 million, just no idea for how long more.

No, as there is a 50k per day limit. 300k would take you 6 days to transfer, or you can go into a branch and do it in one time (with fees unless same bank in same province).

Kasikorn reduced ATM limits for foreigners
As said, they have just started rolling out the new limits. Might take weeks, might take hours, you never know.
