  1. Feel free to correct me if I am wrong but the internet is not a place - therefore even if you trade entirely on the intranet then your business should be registered somewhere and pay the appropriate business taxes. So if you have a business that trades over the internet are you saying that it is impossible to register your company in Thailand? The difference between internet and other businesses is that you will usually need to register your home as the business address and in many countries (I don't know about Thailand) it is not always easy to legally register a home address as a business address as this becomes a change of use - however it does happen so must be possible.

Equally if you are permanently resident in Thailand and receive an income from either inside or outside the country then surely you should also be paying tax on it - interest on capital is still an income in most countries.

My suspicion is that there are many people simply looking for a way to live in a low cost country and at the same time reduce or eliminate their liability for paying tax. The fact that you spend your money in Thailand does not substitute for paying tax because that spend does not directly contribute to government provided services. Even Amazon pay tax in the country their business is registered in! If you run an online business which is registered elsewhere then why should you be allowed to work in Thailand where you could employ Thais to conduct any business that needs to be done from Thailand.

Whilst tax evasion is illegal I believe that tax avoidance is morally wrong and not something that should ever be encouraged or made easy. Those who make the most should contribute the most.

Each case is different and I am not implying that this description fits everyone and I do agree that laws should be flexible enough to allow legitimate people who are willing to pay taxes and contribute directly to the Thai social structure.

Well, it is a difficult subject,

In Brazil for example you can register your company in your home address, it is so easy and you can do it online, then you get a CNPJ, and other countries the process is very similar (I did myself in Brazil).

Paypal and other internet companies made a fortune operating in so many countries for so many years, now they need to register an office in the country they operate business otherwise it is tax evasion (but who care about? now they are fuc*** billionaries).

I agree each case is different and laws should be more flexible with people, but the imigration law in Thailand sure need a deep review, or create new ones.

I work in the internet for many years as a software developer, I live in Asia, and I WORK. Then what? Am I a criminal? Am I breaking the law? bulls**** I pay the tax in my home country (lots of tax), and everything I need is a working connection, my VPN ON and a big mug of black coffee. No one will even track me down or spy on me.. even if someone come after me, they will find a lot of codes and what? working? huh? The misinformation today is a huge problem in society, they make this up for scare people, all about mass control. If you know the law, use it for your own safe. If they do not want you still living in the country, then pack and go for the next country (after months you can return to Thailand, none will remenber of you).

    feeling mad right now!

  2. I heard about the tourist visa type will be allowed to only 3 extension limit. What is the difference in going to Savannakhet or Vientiane or any border in Myanmar to get a tourist visa? If you can not apply for an O visa, then you have to go with the tourist visa type? Is there any difference between coming here or there?

In case of problem with visa, still possible to apply for an ED visa.. this law is a bit confused and make no sense .. blink.png

"Ranong Immigration warns that any foreigner who exits Thailand after using three consecutive visa exemption entries must get a proper visa." http://www.thaivisa.com/forum/topic/723785-visa-crackdown-risks-stranding-phuket-expats-in-myanmar/

  3. I lived for 4 months in Ilha Formosa and 3 years in Thailand, I have no doubts that thailand is much better to live! Much easier, much funnier. Taiwan is also bautiful place, good people, good food (yummy). Well, the visa there is a bit a boring process, need to travel to HK to renew. (I was able to renew inland only the first time, after that HK was the easy option..) In my opinion, in Asia there are no better place than Thailand!

  4. I too have this problem of Hua Hin. Thousands of condos being built between Cha Am and Hua Hin, one development has six thousand units, I have lived here five years and loved it at first, now the town is so ugly with huge hoardings covering every building advertising these bloody condos, beaches charging 50 baht for a deck chair, the local market down town double pricing for a white face ( farang ) and grid lock traffic every weekend, god knows how bad it will get when the new mall opens. Now I hate it here. We are moving to Korat ASAP , not the issan hinterlands but still have reasonable prices for housing , Hua Hin is a perfect example of how to ruin a town by greed, but who gives a shit money rules. For the people who wil poo poo this , Hua Hin is now the second most expensive town in Thailand and it offers nothing. Come visit see for yourself.

I need to agree with you. "bloody condos"!

I was planing to move there in october this year, but now I'm not so sure about. Maybe country side is better and some times take a holiday to the beach!

  5. Chumphon is nice to visit not to live there, Chumphon is also known as "bedroom town", since so many travellers goes to Chumphon to reach Koh Tao from there. I stayed there with my family for almost one week in Thun Ma kham beach at the MT Resort beside the boat station (Koh Tao Route).

I confess to you, the place is wonderfull, beautiful in nature, desert beaches, beautiful Islands, but I can not live there for more than a month, there are nothing to do there, if you need something you must drive 30km out to get in the city. I paid 500 THB per day for a bungalow with A/C, but for sure there are something cheaper around there. If you do not have your own car or motorbike, then you are in trouble there. Pickup service from there is around 500THB (oneway), I did pay 800THB to go to the Pharmacy (round trip)! That is so crazy!

I went to Tambon Hat Sai Ri, it is a small fisher village, noting else, the place look morbid, only one temple (closed or under construction, I really do not know), no 7/eleven or any kind of convenience store.

Do you want an advice? Do not go to live in Chumphon, if you do not like the crowd, just move a little away of Hua hin (Cha Am for instance), or if you really like Chumphon, then live in the city and not in the beach (30km away).

You have better places to live than Chumphon.

  6. WOW! superb! I had never seen such big ones like this!

The Tricholoma Crassum, a native Thai mushroom, can be large to the size of banana trunk.
This mushroom tastes better the milky mushroom but it take much longer time to get the fruiting.

The grain spawn in plastic bag (500 gram) or bottle (175-200 gram) are also available.

Free mushroom cultivation training fee for guest who stay at my Farm Stay.

    My location: 15° 2'4.67"N, 101°24'44.30"E

  7. There's still good deals out there but yes land prices have shot up over the past couple of years . Our last purchase of 10 Rai for 8 /9

year old rubber trees last week was for 900,000 baht and our other 25 Rai of Rubber trees with 500 meters of road frontage was 2,000,000 , I've seen prices double that throughout Thailand for similar plots . Ive been looking for land down Cha am way now for a while , still waiting for the right one to come up, might be a while. As for farming blocks we've picked them up for as little as 10,000 a Rai and 22,000 a Rai for rice paddies . Just to give you and idea whats out there for the taking.

Sent from my GT-P5210 using Thaivisa Connect Thailand mobile app

I agree, there are good deals, last year (June) I bought 2 rai of land around Lad Yao (Nakhon Sawan) for only 25k per rai. The land is mainly used for tree and cassava. I have plan to buy or lease more 8 rai from the same landlord and plant 10 rai of rubber tree in the next year to start.

Lan Sak has lot of plots, and good climate, but most without canote, also it is near to the border with Burma.

  8. Police should look inside him's wardrobe, and try to find that clothes, check records from car rental, try to find all the evidences and after that give the arrest warrant and put the animal inside jail, but until there they have only this clues (in my opnion it is nothing).

I think most asian look all farangs as the same, just like farang look asian the same way.

Pay attention, today is quite easy to have the same sunglasses, tennis, shirt, and so on.. Thanks for mass production, making people look same same!

by te way His shin look the same.. whistling.gif but the huge belly not!

  9. look like a trap setup for you! once you pay, you will never ever heard about the girl or husband! be carefull.

If me, buy a ticket to the girl (will cost much less than U$30K) and sugest her to live with you in Australia if she really love you, she will give up every thing in Thailand and will go with you!

It is true what I'm saying. No jokes!

Good Luck! Love is beautiful but dangerous.

  10. Amazes me how they arrest all these highly wanted people from other countries, but yet when it comes to their own or a tourist is in need they are deaf dumb and blind.

Don't let the facts get in the way of a good rant:

identified the three arrested suspects as a Thai citizen, Y. Ayyad, who was described as a member of a foreign operations unit of Hezbollah working out of East Asia

Thai citizen doesn't make him one of their own.

True, not by birth it seems.

This is a much better story: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-16543447

Deputy Prime Minister Chalerm Yoobamrung said one man was being held over possible immigration offences.

"Technically the two men have not committed any crimes under the Thai law, so we could only use the immigration law to keep this one suspect in custody," he said.

The US embassy in Bangkok issued a warning on Friday that Americans should "exercise caution when visiting public areas where large groups of Western tourists gather".

It said they should "keep a low profile in public areas, particularly areas frequented by foreign tourists", without giving further details of the potential threat.

The Thai authorities had said there was no need for a general alert as it would "cause panic and affect our tourism".

Oh my goodness!!!! please do not shit your pants! Not here. facepalm.gif
