Hello good people. I'm Iranian and planning a trip to Thailand in mid-August. There's a chance of visiting another country as well however where and if ever that happens has not been decided.
my question is since Iranians can no longer apply for double entry tourist visas , can i apply for a Re-Entry permit? i'm planing for 30 days trip which at least half of will be in Thailand. last time i used a Re-Entry was in 2015 and i don't know if laws have changed specially after covid.
Appreciate your help/info.

Hello. I want to buy small handcrafted decorative items (wood or resin) like statues, small musical instruments etc. Where can i find a supplier for these items? Is it better to buy in Chiang Mai or Bangkok?

Thanks for replies

The reason I ask is someone at thai embassy in Iran told him he should exit Thailand before Visa expires. Although that person did not say anything about the stamp date.

Hello
This probably has been asked a lot of times. Sorry for asking again.
Iranian tourist, 33 years old and He still hasn't bought his flight ticket.
Expiry date on Visa is 19 Nov but he wants to know what is the last date he can stay in Thailand so he won't be charged with overstay? Is it the expiry date on Visa or stamp date?

You are missing the most important information: what nationality is your friend?
After knowing that the question is better answered in the Thai visas forum (I'll ask mods).
From your user profile I might assume you are both Iranian?
Sorry I forgot to mention he is Iranian.

Hello. My friend has to go from Suvarnabhumi after he gets off plane to Don Mueang for his flight to Osaka, JP. I told him he needs to get a visa because he is leaving the airport but he wants to be sure if there is a way so he won't apply for a visa! although i think my answer is correct but since he's persistent i wanted to ask here so people in the know give the right answer so he'll be convinced!
He needs a visa, right?

It should be fine to use a single entry tourist visa, getting a single re-entry permit for 1,000 baht on departure from Bangkok to Indonesia. (I am assuming, here, that you get 60 days on entry with a tourist visa, and not only 30 days like some African nations' nationals.)
I actually get 30 days and not 60

hello everyone. as an Iranian i'm no longer able to get a double-entry visa from Thai embassy in Iran. it's no longer issued. however multiple entry visa is being issued but it's more expensive than getting even 2 double entries! i'm planning on visiting Thailand and Indonesia on my upcoming trip and i'm wondering if i can get a Re-entry permit this way: i get a single entry visa from embassy here in Iran. i fly to Thailand and stay there 7-10 days then i travel to Indonesia and after 15 days i go back to Thailand and after the 7-10 days i go back to Iran.
so is it possible to get the Re-entry permit at Bangkok airport(s) or i should apply for expensive multi-entry here?
PS: don't ask about direct one-way flights because i've checked and this way it's about 100 USD cheaper !

so problem solved, all i have to do is to get a re-entry permit. thanks @paz

Hi
i'm in the country for about a week and i have a double entry non B visa (tourist from Iran). i will go to Philippines on wednesday i want to visit Sri Lanka also. my friend (who will travel with me to Philippines) is suggesting that i come back here from Philippines and then go to Sri Lanka. however for my flight back to Iran i have to come back to Thailand because i have a non refundable ticket and i can't change anything of the ticket. so if i come back here from Philippines i will be using my second entry Visa (since i already have used one entry). and then I have to come back from Sri Lanka to Thailand because of my return ticket. i will stay in Sri Lanka for 15 days and my supposed flight to there is 15 April. my flight back to Iran is May 5th. so what to do?? should i take my friend's suggestion and apply and for a visa here or i can use my current Visa to enter for the third time? off course i can go straight from Manila to Colombo with one stop but then i have to pay more for my plane tickets!

about the unrest in south there is a (high ) possibility that the a group of muslims being paid by some country (unfortunately i believe it's my country ) to kill those who want peace like Imam Yakob just to make the matters worst. they have been doing it in pakistan for years and recently in some african countries (egypt, lybia, algeria, cameroon).
off topic: about the name Yakob (Jacob), well since it's name of one of the prophets that jews, christians and muslims believe then for muslims it's an honor to be named after them. i have friends with names Isa (Jesus), Mousa (Moses), Ismail (Samuel), Ibrahim (Abraham), Yusuf (Joseph), Danial, etc. it's a law of islam to respect all the prophets.

last i had a flight from Dubai to Bangkok with Thai and it was pretty good. the service, the food, all good; but maybe their domestic is not as good as their international flights. i had a flight from Chiang Mai to Bangkok too and it was a pleasant flight. but off course almost all the passengers were foreigners.
talking about price i can only compare it to what i have in Iran which is the definition of OVERPRICE ! a flight that takes about 1 hour is more than 300$. the food is not good. the service is bad and there is a 50% chance of plane crash!!!

i used taxi only 2 times. first time i ever been there and i thought to myself 1500 is ok. and the second time after i missed the bus to pattaya and my cousin was with me and he was tires so we went with a taxi. but both times it was hard to negotiate with the girl. all the other times bus was my only option (220 bahts). but since you have an elderly person with you, maybe bus is not the best option for you. thelimopattaya.com is the best option for you and your companion.

According to Iranian media forecasts, the turnout will be above 60 percent, about 25 percent less than during the 2009 polls.
I guess a show of hands may result in a lower count due to the number of amputations. P.S May the best man win.
unfortunately there is no best man
all of them are s**t

i don't remember him taking professionals with him to summits like this. he always took his family and relatives. plus his profession is civil engineer. i can say for sure he doesn't know much about the subject. however iran has faced water crisis for the last 12 years. but i say it again: he just wants to travel around the world without paying a single penny.
ps: CobraSnakeNecktie if you have questions about living in iran just send me a message.

as a persian who lives and experiences everyday life in iran, let me give you a general view on this guy. first of all he is stupid and intelligent at same time. very often he has done or said something that he as a president shouldn't have, simply because he is stupid. but there are somethings we (persians living in iran) know about him that shows his intelligence. 8 years ago when he was running for presidency no one knew who is ahmadinejhad; he just came out of nowhere, said some interesting stuff and paid enormous amount of money to some people buying their votes and became president. at the time the leader (Khameneii) was supporting him appose to the famous Hashemi Rafsanjani the other candidate. however after 2 or 3 years something happened and ahmadinejhad became more powerfull than leader (there were some info about leader that no one should've known but somehow ahmadinejhad got those info). and so he appointed his relatives and friends on key roles including SEPAH (most powerful military organization in iran ironically created by Hashemi Rafsanjani after revolution). Constitution law of iran says Sepah is under direct control of the leader, and with this important change of events, ahmadinejhad was more powerfull than leader. 4 years ago with the help of Sepah he cheated in election and people called him dictator. in january 2011 i was in thailand when all of a sudden hell broke; one day 1 USD was 12650 Rials and the next 1 USD equaled 22000 Rials and right now 1 USD = 36600 Rials. however last year another change in relationships between ahmadinejhad and khameneii shifted the power in favor of the leader and with 20 days left to election, the next president probably will be someone close to the leader (3 candidates are) or hashemi rafsanjani (which many people are hoping he will be president.
so to conclude this pig's 8 years reign, i say he single handedly destroyed: iran's economy, iran's reputation in the world, part of its culture and people's life living in iran. plus he invested heavily in terrorism (one of them happened in bangkok, you know which) in defferent parts of the world including iraq, afghanistan, pakistan, myanmar, yemen, algeria, cameroon, sudan, lebanon and sumali which that i know but i assure you the list goes on.
that said i think he wants to go to chiang mai not for the summit but mainly because he has about 2 months left on his presidency days and wants to go around the world as much a possible with the money of government. i just hope the next president will be better than this idiot and i widh for the economy to stabilize and nuclear program to be stopped.
sorry for the long post

Hi everyone. first time on this forum and this is the first topic that caught my eye.
i'll be in thailand next month and i love fishing, so although this topic is useful but i was wondering about prices. for example how much does a good rod (Daiwa, Shimano, Abu Garcia, etc) with a good reel will cost me? since i'll be there for a month or maybe more and most of the time will go fishing, i want to buy good equipment. if anyone can give me some prices it will be helpful.
PS: i actually checked 7seasproshop. but it seems the prices are high. Daiwa Coastal CL562MHS is priced 3700 Bahts. in my country (Iran) it's less than half this price (about 1630 Bahts). am i missing something or the prices are actually very high in thailand?

thank you both for your answers. tbh governments tend to change tourist laws every now and then and following rule changes is only matters for me when i want to travel!
