    Thailand maintains ‘fully-reopen’ entry rules

Only visitors coming from or going to countries which require a RT-PCR test need to have health insurance covering treatment of COVID-19 in Thailand.

TAT NewsroomThe Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) would like to clarify that Thailand continues to welcome all international tourists under the fully-reopen-to-tourism policy that was introduced on 1 October, 2022.

Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Public Health, H.E. Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul, said “International travellers arriving in Thailand are not required to show proof of vaccination.”

In addition, foreign tourists  are not required to show ATK or RT-PCR test results.

As part of the full reopening to tourism, Thailand is also offering a longer period of stay for visitors. Effective through to 31 March, 2023, the period of stay is extended to 45 days (from 30 days) for tourists from countries/territories entitled for visa exemption, and to 30 days (from 15 days) for those eligible for a Visa on Arrival (VOA).

However, while Thailand is welcoming all visitors, a visitor source market may require incoming visitors including their own nationals returning home to have a negative PCR result.

Thus, Thailand is aiming to correspond with rules of these countries – among them are China and India. Therefore, passengers from a country that has requirements for RT-PCR test must have health insurance covering treatment of COVID-19 in Thailand.

With the ‘Visit Thailand Year 2023: Amazing New Chapters’ campaign, tourists the world over are invited to experience the kingdom’s myriad of wonderful existing and new tourism experiences, products and services.

For those too lazy to search and would prefer to make snide and ignorant remarks, here are a few facts, just one paragraph from the document of the Special Witness Protection Bureau:

The Law “the Witness Protection Act BE 2546” (2003) provides for two strategies. 1. General Provision Strategy This is the more common strategy. According to the Section 6 of the Act, in a case where a witness loses his or her security, a competent official from criminal investigation, interrogation, prosecution or the Witness Protection Bureau, as the case may be, shall desire for the witness protection measures as deemed appropriate or as requested by the witness or other concerned party. Where necessary, the said person may request a police officer or other official for protection and this must be subject to the witness’s consent. Protection measures may include arrangements for a safe place for the witness; or change of name/ family name, domicile, identification, and information that would reveal the identity of the witness as appropriate, and the personal status of the witness and the nature of the Criminal case. The protection of witnesses in general doesn’t apply to the witness only but can also be used for those related to the witness. In a case where a witness’s husband, wife, progenitor, descendant, or person with a close relationship to the witness is affected by the person becoming a witness and would lose security, he/she may request the competent official to design or arrange for measures as deemed appropriate, taking into account the consent of that person. Protection measures may include arrangements for a safe place for the witness; or change of name/ family name, domicile, identification, and information that would reveal the identity of the witness as deemed appropriate, and the personal status of the witness and also the nature of the criminal case. 2. Special Protection Measures A witness in the following [types of] cases may be eligible for the privilege of special protection measures: – A case under the law on narcotic drugs, money laundering law, anti-corruption law, or customs law. – A case related to national security under the Penal Code. – A sexual offence under the Penal Code relating to the luring of a person for the sexual gratification of another. – A criminal offence in the nature of organized crime under the Penal Code, including any crime committed by a criminal group with a well-established and complicated network. – A case punishable with at least ten years of imprisonment. – A case that the Witness Protection Bureau deems appropriate to arrange for protection. Whenever there are explicit circumstances or suspicion that a witness has lost his/her security, the witness or other concerned party, a competent investigation official, competent interrogation official or competent criminal case prosecution official shall apply to the Minister of Justice or his appointed official to arrange for special protection measures, subject to the witness’s consent.

I got bored after the second sentence it’s just too long to read , I guess I’ll just make some snide remarks ????

Perhaps he can get a doctor to testify that she had an existing condition that would have caused her to die that day anyway.  That should significantly reduce any compensation.

(I was once on a jury in the US.  A woman had been placed on a stretcher and it tipped back while she was laying on it causing her to slide off.  Her head hit the wall right at floor level and injured her neck.  Part of the hospitals defense was having a medical expert declare that she had a pre existing condition and her neck would have gone out the same day anyway.)

I Hope this is just sarcasm ?

I think you're a closet racist white guy who doesn't like seeing another white guy singled out for his crimes, and so you instead point the finger at the natives as a smoke screen as if the store owner doesn't have a right to choose which criminal to talk about. Would anyone have written about the Thai thefts?  You know what's despicable about foreigners? When they try to project imaginary "racism" onto incidents like this. Did you ever hear the phrase "last straw"? I can see why a foreigner stealing from a native would be more of an offense and insult, and the last straw. A pensioner whose monthly income dwarfs even the yearly income of Thai people stealing a 150 baht bottle of booze is a far worse criminal than just another low income Thai person who shoplifts. That makes the crime worse and thus worthy of exposure. How Thai people behave toward each other is within their culture, it's their business and their right to deal with without our input. This thief is an outsider, taking advantage of the country in every way he can. and this is how he pays back, shows respect. And how do you know nothing has ever been written about his store's theft problem?  As if it matters. Empathy much? Can you read this guy's mind? You never met or talked with him, you just sit in your Monday morning quarterback armchair of judgment. He doesn't deserve your words. I'm a farang, and I find it particularly despicable that a well off foreigner would steal a cheap bottle of booze from those he knowns darn well are struggling to earn a fraction of what he makes. How does this make foreigners look in the eyes of Thai people? Foreigners are guests in this country, it is not their country. This guy deserves to be singled out. And deported. And note that the owner didn't go to the police this time either. Did that sink in at all? He's not being vindictive. But according to you he's nonetheless maliciously and xenophobically singling out a farang.  It occurs to me how American racists like to hide behind a kneejerk phrase "Blue lives matter" or "all lives matter" to dilute the issue whenever their racism leads them to condemn "Black lives matter" protests.  It's because they don't dare say black lives DON'T matter, so they use code instead. The code of closet racism. When you say "despicable foreigner, but also despicable Thais", you sound just like those American racists - "black lives matter, but all [white] lives matter (except it's the Black lives being killed by the "Blue lives" - cops - a false equivalency conjured up by racists). The foreigner is despicable, the story is about him, none of this has anything to do with Thais, it's one story about one theft. Shame on you for trying the old trick of changing the focus of the conversation to suit your own agenda. I'll bet you do this all the time.

Cool story bro , yawn ????

  6. I agree You and every UK retiree should petition this it is unfair . I’m from the US (New York City) I now collect a pension from my former job with New York City and when I turn 62 in get my social security pension which will add about $ 2000 or slightly less per month to the pension I already have . It doesn’t matter where I’m the world I live I can collect both pensions in full with no penalties . If I wait until I’m 67 my SS will be about $500 more per month . My ex GF was from New Zealand her Mom wanted to retire and move back to HK but the NZ pension states You must reside in NZ at least 6 months out of the year or you can’t collect it ! Unless it’s changed that’s even more unfair I think . Good luck to all You guys I hope You will be able to change this for the better ????????
