Officials remove encroaching signs on Lay Phang Beach in Thalang
stuarty replied to webfact's topic in Phuket News
The removed ones were actioned because the authorities were finally pressured to clear them pursuant to supreme court decisions, despite the previous fat mayor letting it drag on for years.. The heat is not on yet for the others remaining further along. -
My kids will travel alone to Phuket soon from UK though Bangkok. Their bags cannot be checked through to Phuket and so they will need to collect bags and then check in for the domestic flight (still at Suvarnabhumi Airport). Is this an easy enough process? Would they pass through immigration in BKK and then proceed to domestic area with bags or what? Anything to watch out for? Grateful for advice.

Really? When you complete the online form for spouse, it asks for $100,000. from my wife's dependent application online form: Health insurance policy covering entire course of stay in Thailand, with coverage for hospitalization treatment of no less than 50,000 USD and the remaining period of no less than 10 months OR evidence showing valid social security benefits which insures hospitalization and treatment in Thailand OR financial evidence showing a deposit of no less than 100,000 USD in a bank account which has been held for no less than 12 months at the time of application

I have my approval, and have now submitted separate application for my wife. While slightly more simple, I am surprised that - apart from having to pay separate full visa fee (50,000B) - she also has to show $100,000 personal bank deposit for 12 months in lieu of medical insurance. I would have thought that if I have approved her online in their BoI system as a dependent spouse, our (my) personal funds, which I have already shown, would have also covered for her, but apparently not. She needs to show separate bank deposit for last 12 months. No problem for us as she has that bank deposit (WP!) and can show it, but it seems unduly onerous. What if one is applying also for dependent children (less than 18 years old). Do they also each have to show having $100,000 for 12 months? That would be ridiculous imho.

I received my BoI letter today with approval letter (i.e. no further documents needed to be submitted). The letter said the approval is valid for 10 years to October 2032. There is no mention in the letter of having to apply for LTR visa (in my case evisa at London Consulate) within a certain time from receipt of the letter. Does anyone know the position on this? Also there is no mention of my spouse in the approval letter, only me, even although full details for her were provided in my application. Anyone got the same, and/or know how the wife would make her application for the visa?

If you can change the currency option to pay in another currency (if you have it) then it will be cheaper than paying in pounds.

In my case the next stage is “request more information”. I submitted 3 bank accounts information any of which could easily cover the $100,000 for instead of health insurance. They have come back and asked for an updated statement for one of the accounts instead of just relying on either of the other 2. it’s almost as if they are looking for reasons to delay or not approve. What nonsense

Does anyone know whether the $100,000 (instead of having health insurance) must be kept deposited in Thailand or can be in any overseas bank, or combination of both? Copy of health insurance Minimum coverage of 50,000 USD for hospitalization treatment in Thailand The stamp and the signature of the insurance company are mandatory Submission of this document can be done separately at a later date before a notification letter is issued OR Evidence showing valid social security benefits which insures hospitalization and treatment in Thailand OR Bank statement for the last 12 months, showing a deposit of no less than 100,000 USD and additional 25,000 USD per one dependent which has been held for at least 12 months
