  1. I live in Australia with my Thai wife and i am fortunate enough to have dual Nationality and passports. (UK and Australian)

We are considering moving back to Thailand for the next 9 months for the birth of our child.

It will be significantly cheaper for us and she can be near her family when needed.

My Question is about Visas and entry for me. (I am Australian not Thai)

I will need to leave thailand and Return to Australia every 30 days for meetings for several days.

Can i swap passports for entry each time i enter, and therefore stay under the 90 day cap every 180 days in each passport?

    OR

Is the entry requirement for the individual??

How is the amount of time spent in country calculated?

Is it on the individual or do they add up the stamps in the passport?

    All assistance is appreciated.

  2. As a UK Citizen, you will find it fairly straightforward.

A recent change to Australian Immigration Laws will however require you to record a statement at your point of entry to Australia, apologising for winning the Ashes :o , and confessing to some sort of cheating in the process.... :D

Don't worry, this is a standard condition for all Brits there days....

    On The Bright Side... :D

You should not have to apologise for Winning the world cup, i believe that we have now convinced ourselves that it never happened...

Your Girlfriend should find it easier once she has her Visa, no such apologies are required by the Thais....

Seriously though, your GF will have to Jump through lots of hoops to get a Visa, Keep a positive attitude, and keep throwing large volumes of paper at them.... Beaurocrats..they love paperwork....

  3. Interesting information..

Anyone have any statistics on the number of Visas that are applied for and how many are accepted or rejected?

The other interesting one would be what % of Visas issued, have the Visa conditions broken i.e. overstays...

So much of the evidence required seems to be pointing at the links the applicant has to Thailand, inferring that one of the main worries is about the motivation of the applicant to return...

It would be interesting to see if the statistics support this..

    Thats my 2 bobs worth..

  4. CB,

Great post, good to hear from soeone who has done some homework...

I do agree that those who use any form of religion as an an excuse to kill innocent people, are deluded..

    BUT...Back to the topic..

I do hope that these sick individuals do not spread their evil in LOS.

Hope that all of you in Bangkok stay safe....

  7. My folks are coming over in 2 weeks for my wedding. They will be in Bangkok for 3 nights and i need to find a half decent hotel. I think around 2000 baht but a little flexible. Must have an outdoor pool. Any ideas? I dont know Sukhumvit that well to be honest. But it should be within walking distance to Suk Soi 7. Cheers. In advance.

Grand Business Inn on Suk Soi 11 has good clean rooms for about 2500, or at least that was the price 6 mths ago. Place was new then, still had fresh paint on the walls.

About 2 Mins walk to Soi 7. they have a web site www.awgroup.com

    worth a look.

  8. Have a few questions regarding Thai GF Holiday Visa to Australia.

The first several questions on the application relate to intended dates of travel and length of stay. I dont want to book an airfare for GF until i know visa is approved. Do I have to stipulate exact dates of travel in this section, or can i just put in a 2 month window of dates and book the fares within this timeframe once visa is approved (hopefully). :D

Have asked Immigration in Australi, who responded with "we are not allowed to helpyou with your form" :o

Who said Thai customer service was bad!!!

    Any assistance greatly appreciated.

    Cheers
